High School Characters

    Sophomores

Alicia Quinn

  • The Quiet One: Alicia isn't a very outgoing individual. She doesn't talk much, and her voice is sometimes barely audible.
  • Waif Prophet: Many view her as mentally ill, and her visions are dibilitating

Cid Alderlaine

  • Anti-Hero: While he doesn't believe The End Justifies the Means, he's particularly merciless and vengeful when things cause him -or his friends- harm.
  • Seen It All: A lifetime of living on a more Crapsack World side of things has left him unimpressed by many of the more horrifying events he's witnessed thus far.
  • Meaningful Rename: His pre-reboot weapon was Arkfello (loosely meaning "Arch-Companion." His post-reboot weapon means "Master In The Road of Ages" to symbolise the character's shift in maturity.

Sora Hikari

His Persona is Volvagia, of the Magician Arcana.

  • Dishing Out Dirt: Volvagia can throw rocks at enemies with Mamagnus.
  • Fragile Speedster: Has a primary stat focus in Agility. He can't take a hit very well, as well.
  • Playing with Fire: His Persona's main element is indeed fire, befitting the fact that his Persona is a fire breathing dragon.

    Seniors

Rei Takeda

Scion of a wealthy family, Rei's most apparent feature are his lack of enthusiasm or emotion towards just about anything and his need to maintain a perpetual state of stoicism. His Persona is Tsukiyomi.

  • Crippling Overspecialization: Though his initial Persona has three magic elements to choose from, his True Persona starts off with no active skills to keep the magic-boosting passives from his Initial.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Rei is unisex but has feminine connotations. This was intentional.
  • In-Series Nickname: Blue, Blueberry... the list goes on.
  • Invisible Parents: His father, who isn't even mentioned by name in his or his mother's histories.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: Grew up with no noteworthy friends, and in his childhood, his parents were never around.
  • Meaningful Name: One of the translations of "Rei" is "Cool." He's An Ice Person when it comes to persona skills, and is generally aloof. His username online is "Cipher" which is Latin for "Zero," which is the meaning he uses when writing his first name.
  • Not So Stoic: He reveals his less exaggerated personality to Hotaru after she threatens to throw him off the school's roof. Though still pretty calm, it's much more nonchalant in its speech delivery.
  • Squishy Wizard: Namely due to the above illness and his own affinity for magic skills.

Post-Grad Characters

Runako Takeda

Owner and CEO of Takeda Pharmaceuticals Co, she's also Rei's mother. Her Persona is Homunculus, of the Hierophant Arcana. Her planned True Persona is Saint-Germain, of the Empress Arcana.

  • Alchemy Is Magic: Subverted somewhat. Runako has an obsession with alchemy and is quick to point out its status as a real science with minor occult tinges. Her Personae and their Breakdowns would obviously argue that to an extent, Alchemy is indeed magic.
  • Generation Xerox: A number of her traits carry over into her two children. Particularly Kumi's appearance and Rei's personality.
  • Leg Focus: Often wears short skirts and is described as having long legs.
  • Younger Than They Look: Runako's 36, but is often described as looking to be between 18 and 25.

Non-Player Characters

    Notable Shadows

The Unrelenting Nightmare

An extremely powerful boss shadow that first made its appearance in the systems beta, the UN at present looks almost like a super-boss due to its immense defence and ceaseless pursuit of players. It has appeared in a few other threads besides, most notably "Despair In The Tunnels."

  • Animated Armor: Described by Umbraflamma (its creator) as "a suit of malevolent, animated armour."
  • Blood Knight: The UN is an inverse of the Chariot Arcana. Thus, it seeks nothing more than victory and greater challenges.
  • Meaningful Name: "Unrelenting" due to its penchant for pursuing players until it has defeated them or they leave the Otherworld. A "Nightmare" due to his statistics and motivation.
