    Defenders of Percivus
The six protagonists of Legend of Percivus. These heroes were chosen by fate to protect the Dragon slumbering underneath the land of Percivus from the Demons. The Defenders of Percivus consist of Parker, the black-haired boy from the plains, L, the mercenary from the mountains, Ryuusei and Zeroin, the soldiers of the Royal Army, and Amagi and Julin, the Dragon Sages.

Tropes that apply to the Defenders of Percivus:

  • The Chosen One: It's stated in the Dragon Sages' prophecies that their destiny is to protect the Dragon from the Demons
  • Debut Queue: The order that each party character is introduced is in the same order as how the developer met their real life counterparts.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Fate chose six individuals of varying backgrounds and natural chemistry to save the world.

Parker

The main character of Legend of Percivus and the leader of the Defenders of Percivus. He's a young man from Primus Town who dreams of adventure and excitement. When Amagi informs Parker of his fate, he gladly accepts it and goes on a journey to find the other chosen heroes and defend the Dragon.

Tropes that apply to Parker:

  • The Berserker: His skills Heroic Resolve and Berserker's Strength let him deal more damage when he's low on health and greatly raise his attack while greatly lowering his defense, respectively.
  • Childhood Friends: With the Gatekeeper.
  • Determinator: If his teammates receive a beating from an enemy in a cutscene, it's guaranteed Parker will rise up and get one last word in. He also learns the skill Pure Determination which cures him of all status effects and makes himself immune to them for a few turns.
  • The Chosen One: More so than the other Defenders since the prophecy states that he was destined to "lead the heroes to victory".
  • Jumped at the Call: He couldn't contain his excitement when Amagi told him he's one of the chosen heroes.
  • Kid Hero: It's implied that he's the youngest of the Defenders, or at least younger than Ryuusei and Zeroin.
  • Playing with Fire: Learns the skill Magma Axe after getting his axe modified by the Percivus blacksmith.

Amagi

One of the Dragon Sages from Draco Village. After Draco Village was attacked by the Demons, Amagi ran off in search of Parker and informed him of his destiny to defend the Dragon. He and Parker set off on a journey to find the other heroes.

Tropes that apply to Amagi:

  • Big Good: Zigzagged. While he's the one who gathers up the heroes and tells them of the prophecy concerning the Dragon, Parker is the one fated to lead the Defenders. However, he and Julin are the only ones who have the power to control the Dragon.
  • Black Mage: Uses offensive ice magic, status-effect magic, and debuffing magic.
  • Childhood Friends: With Julin. Justified in that they were raised together to prepare for protecting the Dragon in the future.
  • An Ice Person: His magic focuses on dealing ice damage, slowing down the enemy, or stopping enemy movement entirely.
  • Mr. Exposition: He tells Parker and other characters about the prophecy.
  • Not So Stoic: Doesn't ever get that look of indifference off his face unless Julin or eventually Parker is involved.
  • Squishy Wizard: Has the least HP out of all the party members.

L

A mercenary from Ostia Town. Parker and Amagi find him being attacked by Demons at Ostian Peak. After helping him defeat them, L joins Parker and Amagi.

Tropes that apply to L:

  • Dual Wielding: Dual wields knives.
  • Fragile Speedster: Is one of the fastest party members and has the lowest defensive stats.
  • An Ice Person: Learns the skill Glacier Blade after getting his knives modified by the Percivus blacksmith.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Has a high physical attack stat and his luck stat—which is also very high—influences the attack power of a few of his skills.

Julin

Another Dragon Sage from Draco Village. The Demons kidnapped her during their raid on Draco Village. She manages to escape and Parker, Amagi, and L find her resting in the Great Desert oasis.

Tropes that apply to Julin:

Ryuusei

King Percivus's commanding officer of the recon division in the Royal Army. When offered to join Parker's group, he and Zeroin initially refused. After some convincing from Parker (whether through defeating them in battle or protecting Percivus City from the Demons), he is added to the party.

Tropes that apply to Ryuusei:

  • Fire-Forged Friends: Can be recruited into the party before the Percivus City raid if Parker defeats him and Zeroin in their battle.
  • The Gunslinger: Can only equip guns as his weapon.
  • Insult of Endearment: Called Parker "brat" when they first met. Before entering the Dragon Island cave, he calls him brat, but more affectionately this time.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Is the red to Zeroin's blue. He gets more easily angered and flustered than Zeroin.
  • Shock and Awe: Learns the skill Lightning Bullet after getting his gun modified by the Percivus blacksmith.

Zeroin

King Percivus's commanding officer of the magic knight division in the Royal Army. When offered to join Parker's group, he and Ryuusei initially refused. After some convincing from Parker (whether through defeating them in battle or protecting Percivus City from the Demons), he is added to the party.

Tropes that apply to Zeroin:

  • Fire-Forged Friends: Can be recruited into the party before the Percivus City raid if Parker defeats him and Ryuusei in their battle.
  • Magic Knight: Is the only party member capable of using both physical Skills and Magic.
  • Mighty Glacier: Has a high physical defense stat and a high magic attack stat, but low speed stat.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Is the blue to Ryuusei's red. He keeps a cool head more often than Ryuusei.
  • Shock and Awe: Can naturally learn thunder magic.
    The Demons
A race from Umbrius, the continent across the northern sea of Percivus. They seek to use the Dragon's power for themselves and create a new world in their image.

Tropes that apply to the Demons as a whole:

Captain Asmodous

The Demon Army's most powerful captain. He led the raid on Draco Village, captured Julin, and hunted down Amagi after leaving the village in ruins. Parker and Amagi find him waiting for them at the Draco Forest exit.

Tropes that apply to Asmodous:

General Behlyal

The Demon Army's most powerful General. He led the search for the ancient artifact in the Ostian Peak as well as the raid on Percivus City.

Tropes that apply to Behlyal:

  • Meaningful Name: Named after Belial, the chief of the demons in Jewish and Christian mythology.
  • This Cannot Be!: Says this after Parker and the others defeat him in Percivus City.

Cipher

The prince of the Demons. The Defenders of Percivus find him in the Dragon's room in the Dragon Cave.

Tropes that apply to Cipher:

  • Load-Bearing Boss: A variation on the trope where the boss is not the cause of the location collapsing. After the battle, the Dragon roars, causing the entire world to collapse.
  • Meaningful Name: Named after Lucifer.
  • One-Winged Angel: Transforms into a more monstrous form after being defeated in his original form.

Demon King Irath

Former ruler of the Demons who was locked away in the Demon Pit after the Percivus-Umbran War.

Tropes associated with Irath:

  • And I Must Scream: Being stuck underground for thousands of years did not do well for his sanity. He can't even speak coherently anymore.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: If the party fails to defeat him, he'll break free from his prison and terrorize the world.
    Other Characters

Gatekeeper

A young man who guards the Primus Town gate.

Tropes associated with the Gatekeeper:

Merchant

A travelling merchant who seems to pop up wherever the Defenders of Percivus go. He's first seen in Draco Village.

Tropes associated with the Merchant:

  • Everyone Calls Him Merchant: If you investigate the study in his house, it's revealed his real name is Todd Bitman.
  • No Hero Discount: Lampshaded by Parker and Justified by the Merchant during the Percivus City raid.
Parker: Why can't you just give us stuff for free? We're in the middle of a crisis here!
Merchant: I know, I know. But I gotta keep business going somehow.
Merchant: Kinda weird how we always end up going to the same places. Are you guys following me? Hahaha!

Mistress Tori

The guild mistress of Percivus Guild.

Tropes associated with Tori:

  • Action Girl
  • Hidden Depths: Has a maid fetish. This can be exploited to make the battle with her easier.
  • Magic Knight: She attacks with a sword as well as fire, ice, and thunder magic.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: When first seen in the guild provided you don't have the Maid Outfit on, she's collected and cold. After the Defenders defeat Behlyal in Percivus City, she shows off her sweet personality.

Puppet Master

An assassin hired by the Demons to kill the Defenders of Percivus. He's protecting the Anti-Spell Book.

Tropes associated with Puppet Master

  • Flunky Boss: He's able to summon puppets during battle as his HP gets lower.
  • Marionette Master: He can summon puppets into battle. His puppets are noted to look realistic. If you visit the basement of his home after defeating him, turns out his puppets have a mind of their own.
