Colonel Alexei Nikolaevitch Demidov
Age: 28
Affiliation: West Russian Special Forces, Colonel
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Green
Sex: Male
Race: White
Nationality: Czarist Republic of West Russia
Stories: In "A Blood Red Sky" and "Apogee and Perigee".
Anti-Hero: Very much so, possibly even a full-fledged villain.
Colonel Badass: Definitely. Add that to the fact that being in the West Russian Special Forces (URS or Spetsnaz) gives you automatic superiority over all normal army officers who can be deployed into the field...
Do Anything Soldier: Driver, strategist, martial artist, sniper, pilot, infantry, paratrooper, special forces...
General Ripper: He authorized nuking an entire GDN fleet, killing roughly 45,000 GDN sailors but also 31,000 civilians and allies.
The Neidermeyer: He has a great deal of contempt for everyone else..
Never Say "Die": Averted. He spends at least a page describing how horrifically the war has taken its toll on everyone and everything, and then saying that he supports it. For example:
Do you know how a nerve gas kills you, Huong? First, you experience running from the nose and shortness of breath. Your pupils constrict. You begin to have difficulty breathing, and begin to salivate involuntarily.
“After that, you begin to lose control of your bodily functions. You involuntarily weep, defecate, urinate, and vomit. Your mucous membranes may burn, and your skin may blister. Your body goes into painful convulsions. Finally, you are robbed of the ability to breathe and you succumb to asphyxiation. It can take hours to die. Your country did this, Huong. And I supported it wholeheartedly.
The Unfettered: He'll do pretty much anything for victory.
Wicked Cultured: He speaks with perfect, unaccented English and is a student of many disciplines.
Big Damn Villains: The guy flattens an American fleet with 450 kilotons of nuclear death. Whether this is good or bad is kind of ambiguous, but it does stop a massive war.
