- Ms. Fanservice: Tends to wear very revealing clothing, especially once that show off her legs.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: Red to Wade's blue, Lavon's blue, and Annabeth's blue.
- Snark-to-Snark Combat: with Wade.
- Will They or Won't They?: With George and Wade for most of the show.

- Betty and Veronica: Veronica to George's Betty and Zoe's Archie.
- Chick Magnet: He's very popular with the ladies.
- Deadpan Snarker: He's very quippy and often gets into Snark-to-Snark Combat with Zoe and other characters.
- His Own Worst Enemy: He has a tendency to sabotage himself because he's afraid he'll fail.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He can seem like a jerk, but he's always there for his loved ones, especially Zoe, Earl, and Lemon.
- Mr. Fanservice: Spends a lot of his screentime shirtless.
- Really Gets Around: Sleeps around a lot, and even gets into a Friends with Benefits arrangement with Zoe in season 2. It eventually evolves into a Ladykiller in Love scenario.

- Big Eater: Tends to eat his feelings, specifically.
- Lovable Jock: Lavon is a former linebacker and played in the NFL for ten years and is very friendly.
- Nice Guy: Easiestly the nicest character on the show.

- Bad Boss: When she is the leader of the Belles, she traumatizes her friends.
- Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: The blonde.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Particularly when she's with George Tucker.
- High-School Sweethearts: With George. They were together for fifteen years.
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: Before and after school, she was the queen bee of her group and was always beloved by the town.
- Southern Belle: She literally belonged to an organization called "The Belles."
- Took a Level in Kindness: By the end of the show, she's much nicer.

- Beard of Sorrow: At the beginning of season three.
- Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Lavon's Veronica and Lemon's Archie, as well as the Betty to Wade's Veronica and Zoe's Archie.
- Southern Gentleman: He has been described as the "perfect Southern man."

- The Reliable One: To Lemon, to Zoe, to everyone.
- Southern Belle: Just like Lemon.
