Prince Wales Tudor

The Prince Valiant

The third and sole surviving son of King James of Albion. Wales is the Cousin of Princess Henrietta of Tristain, and the leader of the surviving Albionian Royalists. Though young and highly idealistic, Wales has proven himself a skilled mage and commander. Leading the handful of remaining Royalist forces on a series of daring raids to undermine Reconquista's supply lines, Wales has earned the title The Prince Valiant for his ceaseless heroism. This title is proven once more in his first meeting with the Faeries in York and in the battles that follow.Wales is on generally good terms with Kirigaya Asuna who he respects as a skilled field commander and views as a Noblewoman of the Fae.
  • Blow You Away: Is a triangle of Air.
  • Covert Pervert: Has secretly read a yuri novel.
  • Honor Before Reason: He considered it his duty as prince to die at Newcastle and that it would be shameful to run away. it took Garmont, Eugene, and even his father to convince him to evacuate.
  • O.C. Stand-in: In canon he is really little more than a Sacrificial Lamb to give Henrietta someone to pine over/ catalyze harem antics. Here, TH has had to put in a lot of work to give him some measure of depth.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In this 'verse, Kirito revives him with a Fae resurrection potion, and the Tristian-Alfheim alliance retrieves him from the siege of Newcastle.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Has a close friendship with Caramella, to the point of people wondering if they are lovers.
  • Surfer Dude: Dresses as one to avoid attention when vacationing at Ragdorian Lake.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: Even as the rest of his family became hated and Reconquestia took over Albion, he was still widely popular.
  • Yuri Fan: Tried to deny it, but Henrietta calls him out for his being familiar with a quote from a yuri novel.

King James Tudor of Albion

The Tyrant King

The rightful sovereign of Albion before his death at the fall of Newcastle and father to Prince Wales. He is trapped in Newcastle with the rest of the Royalist holdouts, and does not take an active role in the last days of the civil war, unlike his son.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Going by almost every reference to King James' reign, he's only one step removed from being as bad as King Joseph.
  • Bad Boss: If you thought the Tyrant King title was just rhetoric, you'd be wrong. He's so bad that it turns out he's almost single handedly responsible for the entire Albion civil war, and that Reconquista is less of a religious crusade as in canon, and more of a political movement to overthrow him.
  • Fantastic Racism: Could only barely tolerate Asuna and the other Fae.
  • Last Stand: The only noble thing he does is take his youngest sons' place at Newcastle in order to cover his retreat.
  • O.C. Stand-in: Like Wales, TH has fleshed him out far more than in canon.
  • Revenge Before Reason: The civil war was kicked off when his second son was murdered and he promptly executed the first suspect to come to mind (his daughter-in-law, who genuinely was innocent) without investigation or trial, causing her family to rebel.

Prince Harold

Countess Emily Windsor

A cousin of Prince Wales whose family remained loyal to the Tudor line. Her family estates were overrun by the forces of Reconquista during the Civil War and she would have been most likely killed by Rebel mercenaries had she not been saved by Asuna and the Knights of Blood. Eventually, she makes her way to Tristain and makes contact with the Faerie Lords to warn them that the SAO survivors are on Albion. She believes that the Fae are the faeries from Albionian legends, sent to aid the Royal line in its darkest hour.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: She's an Earth Mage.
  • Escapism: She obsesses over the faeries as a way to avoid facing the pain of what happened to her and her family in Albion. Yui is trying to cure her of this before this becomes too damaging to her psychological state.
  • Indy Ploy: That "wine" scheme she made up in York to do recon on ships. That was all made up on the spot.
  • King Incognito: Initially she pretended to be "Millia", a tutor, instead of a noble of any importance at all. The SAO survivors have no idea until Prince Wales recognizes her.

Captain Duran Thorn

An enterprising merchant and captain of the Sabrina. An old acqueintance of Prince Wales, he ferried Emily to Tristain and later was instrumental in Operation Dunkirk. He is now officially a privateer under the employ of the Crown.
