That isn't his leg. I realized this when comparing his cutscene sprite to his battle sprite, and noticing how the gun didn't really line up with the leg, and the arm that wen't behind his leg. At first, I thought his two arms were combined, but the cutscene where he nearly kills one of the cats changed that. Then again, his talk sprite doesn't really match his actual nightmare face, so... Take it as you will.
