* BrightIsNotGood: He wears a pink suit and is the AxCrazy dictator of Kyrat, [[though he is ALighterShadeOfBlack compared to the Golden Path.]]

* SmallRoleBigImpact: The guy attempted to get Ajay to the Golden Path, as soon as possible, but ended up being hauled off and tortured. This ends up bringing Ajay to the Golden Path, either way, since his "sacrifice" causes Ajay to make a run for it. [[spoiler:Also, he was a MoralityChain for Golden Path leaders Amita and Sabal before his death. By keeping them from fighting eachother, he was preventing their worst aspects from fully blooming.]]

* BigBad: Goes without saying. [[spoiler:Subverted. Due to the fact that [[WeAreStrugglingTogether Amita and Sabal]] are as bad if not worse, the game goes out of its way to show that being an EvilOverlord does not by default make him the BigBad due to the nature of politics]].
* BrightIsNotGood: He wears a pink suit, and is the AxCrazy dictator of Kyrat.[[spoiler:Subverted, as he is ALighterShadeOfBlack compared to the Golden Path.]]

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: [[spoiler:Unlike other ''Far Cry'' protagonists, Ajay's final fate, whether he decided to stay in Kyrat, return to the United States, or something else entirely, is up to the player to decide.]]

* InterchangeableAsianCultures: Kyrat is a Himalayan country, but Dr. Noore's first name and surname are both Arabic ones. And that's not even getting into the fact that her voice actress is of Vietnamese descent. It's possible she's of Arabic descent herself, though.

* NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent: Noore's accent is a lot closer to American than Kyrati.

** A defining character tic, which is even emphasized by the loading screen hints. He is very specific with his requests and isn't happy when they aren't followed to the letter. He [[EstablishingCharacterMoment establishes what kind of man he is]] early on [[spoiler:when he stabs the everliving crap out of an OverzealousUnderling with [[ThePenIsMightier a pen]]. He told his soldiers to "''stop'’ the bus” and emphasizes that if that had meant "massacre nearly everybody in the bus", he would have said that.]]

** A defining character tic, which is even emphasized by the loading screen hints. He is very specific with his requests and isn't happy when they aren't followed to the letter.

* EvilSoundsDeep: He has a sonorous, Creator/AlanRickman-type voice that makes him all the more disturbing. Then again, given that his {{Dragon}} is voiced by Travis Willingham, it can be overlooked.

* FauxAffablyEvil: He can appear to be perfectly polite, perfectly reasonable, and calm in spite of bad circumstances. However, [[TranquilFury this calmness is usually hiding some sort of anger that's all too eager to come to the surface]]. This is one of the reasons that Ajay doesn't trust Pagan Min, in spite of Pagan appearing to be genuine in wanting to help -- Ajay has seen Pagan Min's mask slip a little too often. The only thing Ajay can say for sure is that he can never be sure where he stands with Pagan Min.

* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Notes at one point he [[spoiler:had a chance to meet his old lover during a visit to the USA, and had located her new home]]. He chose not to walk in, deciding that [[spoiler:he had no place in her new life. However, he also regrets this greatly]].

* TheAtoner: Was a terrifying and bloodthirsty warlord in his past. He eventually took a bullet to the head that, to him was a sign to accept God and repent for his sins.
** As revealed 7 years later in ''VideoGame/FarCry6'' during a radio call with CorruptCorporateExecutive Sean [=McKay=] (if he's left alive during his quest chain), in between leaving Kyrat and the civil war in Yara, Longinus has gotten out of the "things that kill people" business, though exactly what he's been doing is left unclear.

* TheAtoner: Was an African Warlord. He took a bullet to the head that made him accept God and repent for his sins.

* TheBadGuyWins: Manages to flee to Kyrat and rule over till Ajay comes and takes over as the next ruler, regardless if he dies or not will be up to the player but Pagan will allow Ajay to choose his fate and still have succeeded in his goals.
