Plio Kenson

Teen Plio

Adult Plio

Kerason

KeraMaster

A Child Prodigy misunderstood by his class, teachers, and neighborhood because of his mental issues regarding an unknown disorder the kid has, Plio Kenson doesn't even know what exactly his weird condition is; all he knows is that it gives him his intelligence, but it also gives him extreme recklessness at the same time. Taken to numerous doctors as a kid up to his current age of 9 to wonder what his condition is, Plio isn't confirmed to have any known disorder that would exist in the modern world; that is, however, because the world Plio lives in is in the 23rd century of Earth. Things have changed over the course of 200 years, and things have been unusual for humanity ever since the integration of extraterrestrial life-forms into their culture. Perhaps his mental issue isn't something known to exist naturally among humans, but even to this day nobody truly knows what is wrong with Plio; by the end of the day, though, he's still a sweet, but troubled kid.

However, things do not go entirely planned one fateful day as the rogue Dinoid called KeraTrident contacts him in his sleep and chooses him to wield his powers for him to be able to rebel against his oppressive Dinoid commanders, since he sees the rest of his kind as a greater evil that needs to be stopped. Plio agrees to this, and becomes The Kid with the Remote Control to a life-form even he barely understands. KeraTrident, now seeming replaced by separate entity in the waking world called KeraBeast, is treated to differing world views between himself and KeraBeast, but the remainder of the day, aside from school, bullies, and having to fight off ambushing Velocilites, Pterazok, and Tyrannox as well as save his parents and the city by dawn are all quickly making him realize he's far in over his head with the hero duties he know has to go through with. As Kerason, he uses a transformed KeraBeast as an energy flail weapon, and as KeraMaster, he uses KeraTrident's hidden power to transform into a Dinoid in his own image to battle the much larger Dinoid specimens known to exist in the cosmos. Now the local hero of Earth in his time, the world around him begins to wonder how to properly deal with the fact they have a Dinoid on their side in the form of a 9 year old kid.

Tropes that apply to Plio Kenson

  • Animal Mecha: Triceratops type Dinoid as KeraMaster.
  • Ascended Fanboy: Of Tokusatsu heroes. He even gets to meet his own inspiration Justin Stewart and both of them double team Mgamber X together.
  • Awakening the Sleeping Giant: His role in Operation: R.E.B.O.O.T. in a nutshell; he's the sleeping giant that nobody wants to provoke into action, not even Chronicler or Eidolon. Due to the nature of Plio's Deity Rune, he's supercharged beyond the normal levels of a Phase 1 that he can easily put up a fight against Phase 5 Delta Silver and likely come out victorious.
  • Badass Adorable: He's a 9 year old kid who is a Henshin Hero, what did you expect?
  • Berserk Button: Endangering people's lives without any sign you care for them at all.
  • The Berserker: How his fights typically go, often using a lot of brute force in combination with tactics to back him up in case of an emergency.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Sometimes, but always averted when Tyrannox enters the ring.
  • Child Soldier: What he effectively is.
  • Crossover: Aside from Chronicler and Eidolon, Plio has the second biggest number of appearances outside of the Ultimorian Deities across Citadel of the Heart. Despite this, these are oddly non-canon for The Blue Tri proper, as The Blue Tri was rewritten from the ground up to be a Non-Serial Movie series based off of characters and entities otherwise a part of the primary continuity, just told in a more self-contained manner with many indicators as to where specific points in his own story that Plio crosses over with another one. As a result of this, Plio has separate entries on other pages to compensate for his roles in other fics, because his roles can be kind of a Mind Screw to figure out normally.
  • Darker and Edgier: Whereas the three mentioned below had allies to assist them in fights, does Plio have anyone assisting him in the early parts of his series? None whatsoever.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He has his moments.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of the Kid Hero trope when applied to characters such as , Riki, and Justin. In all three different Tokusatsu shows, the three Kid Heroes were aged up into more matured forms to help them out with the combat they would take part in. Unlike those three, Kerason stays the exact same age and size as Plio himself. Not only that, but Plio is at numerous times classified as a Child Soldier by who knows how many characters in his story or even elsewhere.
  • Epic Flail: His signature weapon.
  • Expy: Of AkaRed.
  • Future Badass: As KeraKing.
  • Henshin Hero: As Kerason.
  • I Miss Mom: Does what he can to hide it when traveling across space and time while he's a young child using KeraBeast's BeastBlitz form.
  • Kid Hero: He's 9.
  • Meteor Move: As KeraMaster, Thunder Impact.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: To Tyrannox, the most reoccurring Dinoid, primarily because he's the most dangerous of the bunch.
  • Not Allowed to Grow Up: Averted; he eventually becomes an adult as the series progresses.
  • Official Couple: With Chioma.
  • Shock and Awe: His element as Kerason and KeraMaster.
  • Shout-Out: To both Zekrom's Bolt Strike and Solgaleo's Sunsteel Strike with his signature move as KeraMaster.
    • His general design and forms are a homage to different Blue Rangers all across Super Sentai and Power Rangers alike. His crossover nature tends to draw similarities to AkaRed.
  • Superdickery: His appearances in other parts of the continuity seem to exaggerate certain aspects of his character, which results in appearances which seem to imply something is going on and perhaps the Plio seen here isn't the true Plio.
  • Took a Level in Cynic
  • Transformation Trinket: KeraBeast.
  • Troubling Unchild Like Behavior: You could say that.
  • Tyke Bomb: When he enters his enraged state while transformed.
  • Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: With Justin of Power Rangers Turbo having to deal with Serpentera during the climax of the Zordon Era.
  • Walking Spoiler: Any of his KeraKing entries explicitly call him the 13th Ultimorian Deity.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: His third arsenal upgrade is KeraBeast's "Dragoon Launcher", which fires immense lightning bolts towards an enemy in the form of a gigantic laser. The power of the attack is so immense that KeraBeast transforms drastically in size so he can shield Plio from the shock wave of the blast from his mouth.
  • Weird Crossover: Out of all of the characters in Citadel of the Heart, he's the only one to meet both the canon and AU versions of specific characters from the same franchise for any given story. He meets the canon Power Rangers and their AU counterparts, and has proven himself to be a formidable fighter towards both sets of teams he has met up with.
  • Black Gal on White Guy Drama: Averted with him and Chioma dating and eventually getting married, but played with during his cameo in Operation: R.E.B.O.O.T. regarding Cree Lincoln. Since Plio is a teenager in this story, Cree gradually begins to develop a crush on Plio that Plio flat out ignores entirely because he's already dating Chioma. Cree eventually ends up going too far with it to the point his presence begins to distract her focus too easily to where Chad and Maurice pull her to the side and have a talk with her regarding it, considering they're both concerned as to why such a high ranking Teen Ninja is losing so much as of late over a boy she's crushing on all of a sudden. Cree attempts to deny it, but Chad and Maurice both point out how Cree has been increasingly staring at Plio with interest more and more over the past several weeks, and the fact she's lost her train of thought before when looking at a shirtless Plio while at a pool on her day off.

Tyrannox

Debut: The Blue Tri

Voice Actor: David Kaye

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tyrannox_blue_tri.png
Tyrannox I

Tyrannox II

Tyrannox III

Troublesome and ferocious, Tyrannox is the second-in-command of the Dinoid Armada, due to having his pride wounded by KeraTrident which made him lose his leadership status over the faction as a whole. Dishonored by his now mortal enemy, Tyrannox will do whatever it takes to end the existence of his eternal hatred forever, even if it means having to go out of his way to cause trouble that he normally wouldn't cause to do so. Normally a Benevolent Boss to his men and even towards other alien races, his hatred of Kerason turns him into a cold, silent killing machine hellbent on killing his arch-nemesis for good, since he's so determined to reclaim his honor from his new foe that he loses all control over his sanity in the process. Being the mentor of the Chief of the Velocilites, Blades, he seems to harbor hidden feelings towards him, but to what extent even he doesn't know; perhaps it might have to do with the fact that for a good while, he's dead until Blades revives him as Tyrannox II, and by the time he finally shows up as Tyrannox III, it is yet again because of Blades that he survives death and transcends into a form previously unknown to Dinoids beforehand.

Tropes relating to Tyrannox

  • Benevolent Boss: Normally a very calm, collected individual when you're on his good side, to the point he doesn't even remotely try to be the villain at all when he's in a good mood.
  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: Becomes a "Venusian Dragon type Dinoid" in his third and final upgraded form.
  • Diving Kick: Asteroid Kick, his signature melee attack, involves him leaping up towards the sky using his tail to launch himself, before diving against the opponent to stomp them into the ground akin to kicking.
  • Evil Pays Better: He doesn't; at all. Tyrannox's currency is worthless on Earth, so Tyrannox cannot logically pay better in this case. Besides, he's not even actually evil. Not that any of this stops Tyrannox from trying to bargain with his opponents regardless.
  • Expy: Of Ridley.
  • Kaiju: Is one of the only Dinoids who consistently is in a giant form.
  • Loophole Abuse: Because he's not truly evil, he survives the Z-Wave unscathed during the crossover with Power Rangers, to where he manages to be the Post-Final Boss of the situation at large now that his allies got wiped so easily.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: Death cannot really seem to get a permanent grasp on him at all.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: The Dinoids need something done and they know Kerason won't waste time trying to stop them? Tyrannox is always there on the scene to diverge Kerason's attention away from the bigger task at hand.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Tyrannox III, from which Tyrannox changes from a Tyrannosaurus type Dinoid to a one of a kind Venusian Dragon type Dinoid.
  • Playing with Fire: His element.
  • Post-Final Boss: After the heroes think the day is saved and all evil is gone, Tyrannox shows up to crash the celebration so he can finally settle the score with Kerason during the Power Rangers crossover; due to technically not being a villain, he survived the Z-Wave beforehand.
  • Rage Breaking Point: The mere sight of Kerason.
  • The Rival: Eventually becomes this to Kerason as he gradually overcomes his Rage Breaking Point.
  • Say My Name: "KERASON!!!"
  • Shout-Out: To Beast Wars Megatron.
    • His signature move is always based off of Reshiram's Fusion Flare at minimum. As Tyrannox II, it gains traits from Lunala's Moongeist Beam. As Tyrannox III, it essentially becomes Inferno Overdrive.
  • SNK Boss: His appearances in other parts of Citadel of the Heart make saying he's Nigh-Invulnerable an understatement at times.
  • Villain Ball: Justified and enforced when he encounters Kerason ever since his initial defeat towards him; he loses all of his sanity and goes berserk trying to kill him no matter the cost.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Tyrannox II.
  • We Will Meet Again: Doesn't say it too often, but general expression by the end of an encounter generally gives the impression.

Layla, the Blight of Light

Wicked, cunning and strong willed, she did not take to being cast out of her presence among the Darkest of Angels from within Zenith to be anything other than robbing her of the chance to be alongside Creation as the consort of the Ultimorian Deity known as Zaalim. Left to rot in mortal form, she had struck a powerful curse against the other remnants of her whole being due to her having inherited the most raw power over darkness among her split forms. Her split forms promptly invaded other worlds and took over several host entities from which their futility in life lead to them having the temporary ability to harness this power for themselves, but otherwise lacking the willpower to face the reality was that they needed to be cured of this presence, because Layla made certain to subdue their screams for help from within should they attempt to reveal her nature outright to anyone. Eventually, the group of these entities declared war against the opposing side, the entities of light, and Layla was caught in a confrontation with her son, William Kenson, and his newfound ability known as the Sword of Elysian, from which the powers that fuel Layla and her whole being are eradicated by and banished. However, while elsewhere, her remnants had fallen victim to a Cosmic Retcon because it was perceived from those other sides that this would be the only way to dispose of them. It worked... but only for those male influences, and now with them gone, Layla's power was back to 100%, allowing her to break free of her banishment and lay siege to the universes which she had dragged into this conflict with the cosmic retcon having rendered the worlds her wasteful remnants inhabited into nothing short of ruin. it would ultimately be up to William Kenson to take up the Sword of Elysian again, to ultimately slay Layla and vanquish her powers altogether, even if it meant exposing his dark and troubled past regarding his relationship with Layla to his newfound family he lives in peace with under the guise of a normal man.

She is the main antagonist of Blight of Light, a Recursive Fanfiction Fix Fic of Friendship is Failure.

Tropes relating to Layla

  • Animal Motifs: Dragons.
  • The Bus Came Back: Was originally from an severely outdated draft of The Blue Tri who only was important regarding William's backstory and simply vanished without any closure to her role in William's life. Now she's going to more or less force William to finally confront his inner demons once and for all.
  • Cerebus Retcon: The entire reason why only males could be born into Darkness in Friendship is Failure is not entirely given a proper justification or explanation as to how it works. With Layla being such an incredibly vile entity and the Dark Angels being depicted as having being genuinely benevolent, the entire reason why there are no females is because they don't want a repeat of events that lead to Layla's own upbringing; they're so batshit paranoid of her intentions that they don't want to dare risking the possibility of another like her coming into existence.
  • Dragons Are Demonic: She was originally part of the Creation Entity known simply as Darkness, but was cast out for her potential to be an increasingly violent individual and banished to the Infernal Void, from which Zenith's bowls transformed her whole being into an utterly eldritch rendition of a reptile to the point even the Dragora are uncharacteristically taken aback by her looks.
  • Evil Matriarch: To William Kenson, due to being his mother, and also with just how mad for power she is the moment she has the opportunity to try and reshape history in her own favor.
  • Hates Everyone Equally: Apparently very incapable of being kind or genuinely polite to anyone without being verbally abusive towards them, to the point she doesn't even seem to know how to avoid giving herself this same treatment.
  • Reptiles Are Abhorrent: Some vague implications of her in the dialogue for those who know about her tend to flavor their references to her with reptilian terminology.
  • Viler New Villain: The Dark Angels were originally intended to be viewed as a natural, benevolent force that went rogue for seemingly no reason. Layla's existence gives a massive Cerebus Retcon to the nature of the Dark Angels, causing every action they took against the protagonists of their world now being brought into question over whether or not they were even aware of the fact they were all nothing but pawns for Layla this whole time, yet alone being fragments of her entirety in the first place.
  • Walking Spoiler

    Operation: R.E.B.O.O.T. associated characters

General

  • Sufficiently Advanced Aliens: They come from an unknown point in time and space, and their technology have long rendered 2X4 technology completely outdated if not borderline useless.

Plio Kenson

See under UD-13 KERAKING in The Ultimorian Deities for more information.

William Kenson

Debut: Operation R.E.B.O.O.T.

Voice Actor: Liam Neeson

  • Animal Motifs: Wolf.
  • Anti-Hero: Seems to be rather self-centered in his goals even when he hides it behind a selfless intent, to the point people tend to doubt how honest he's being regarding being there for his son when he seems to view Plio are just another aspect of his own Pride.
  • Death Glare: Father learns the hard way that perhaps William is best not to be messed with at all.
  • Good Parents: Along with his wife Brenda, he's very caring for Plio's well-being, which seems to be what had mellowed him out compared to his youth.
  • Knight of Cerebus: He's downright terrifying to speak to alone, without his son around to make sure William stays family friendly. Considering he butchers people who are his designated targets as a Professional Killer, he's got his gig cut out for him.
  • Knight Templar Parent: Hoo boy...
  • Mayfly–December Romance: He first met his wife Brenda when she was 18 for a few months; he had been in his 20s for a good while by that point.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted; he actually does get to meet William Dunbar and they both lampshade this little fact to hell and back.
  • Papa Wolf: Quite literal at times considering his animal motif and all.
  • Professional Killer: His presence is first implied through a Mook Horror Show consisting of him using Time-Freeze Trolling Spree to kill several designated targets with his Time Stands Still ability, all of which in a disturbingly Gorny demise as to further scare off the KND and the Adult Villains from the scene.
  • Time-Freeze Trolling Spree: It's never funny in any way at all when William activates his Time Stands Still power and butchers and decapitates people alive during his moment of completely invisibility to the radar.
  • Time Master: Considering he potentially works for Zaalim, this is a prerequisite for such a role.
  • Time Stands Still
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: Considering the sheer levels of Gorn he leaves behind in his job, the KND are needless to say utterly horrified to stumble upon missions of their own in which their paths are forced to meet...

Brenda Riley Kenson

Debut: Operation R.E.B.O.O.T.

  • Animal Motifs: Bear.
  • Anti-Hero: Highly destructive even when not intending to be such, doesn't even grasp the physical strength she has at times.
  • Bear Hug: Often prone to causing this problem with her peers.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: When growing up, she never was made aware empathy even existed, considering all she ever got from anyone was nothing short of Cold-Blooded Torture which dehumanized her to both her family and her many run-ins with molesters trying to grab at her. Eventually she snapped and invoked the powers of Dragora Galaxia's Deity Rune and triggered the instantaneous explosion of her entire home galaxy purely to escape her life of torture.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: While a friendly and caring mother on the surface, her past wasn't so sunshine and rainbows; she was the dreaded galaxy destroyer Ursaley, in which it took many violent, emotionally brutalizing battles with Guruson to finally calm her down to see the empathy in others around her.
  • Does Not Know Her Own Strength: She honestly doesn't, not even after many years of having had it.
  • The Dreaded: She was temporarily UD-02 after having dethroned Dragora Galaxia for the role, and what she did with the immeasurable power was nothing short of catastrophic.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: When her eyes begin to turn a soulless red, pray that you'll not be going to hell in your death because her "Instant Death" Radius will soon activate and kill the entire solar system with it.
  • Good Parents: For Plio. Which is all the more disturbing considering how she even has this behavior considering her own childhood...
  • Horrifying the Horror: The Galactic Kids Next Door tried only once in her past as Ursaley to stop her, and they regretted even making the effort; all of their higher ups at the time atomized upon simply being near here, and at least a dozen galaxies completely destroyed without a trace because of their botched up effort to destroy her.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Normally not at all, but her past as Ursaley is a big one to the likes of the GKND.
  • Love Redeems: Guruson's showcase of actual empathy towards her eventually comes to a head, even after when she learns of his true identity as William, and by the end of all of the initial hostility between the two, she's finally curbed in anger and rage to finally marry William and settle down with a kid she hopes will never experience the same harm she did growing up.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: She met William when she was 18 for a mere few months, and William was already in his 20s.
  • Mama Bear: Quite literally, even down to the Bear Hug.
  • Space Master: From Dragora Galaxia, although Dragora was unable to foresee Brenda outright overthrowing him temporarily out of purely blind rage at one point.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: A galaxy buster of a power set she has access to, and she's only acting out of blind hatred and rage alone when she was known as Ursaley, in which not even the Galactic Kids Next Door wish her existence upon any adults who crossed her path.
  • Walking Spoiler: Even more than her husband!

"Unknown"

Debut: ???

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unknown_367.png
"Unknown"

An adult male with an uncanny level of physical similarities with Plio Kenson, despite the fact it's highly improbable that this man and Plio are even remotely the same person. Speculation exists in-universe as to whether or not Unknown is an alternate incarnation of Plio or is the visual similarities are nothing more then coincidence alone. All that can be truly certain is that Unknown is a vicious individual who seems to have some kind of desire to want to murder Plio's entire family for an unspecified reason.

  • Hidden Agenda Villain: Nobody knows his exact motives yet, due to how much of The Spook he is.
  • The Spook: Barely any information on this guy is known to exist, even when he appears physically at that.

Tyrannox

  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: A Tyrannosaurus type Dinoid who later becomes a Venusian Dragon type Dinoid. Also heavily associated with the Fire element as a whole in all of his forms.
  • We Come in Peace — Shoot to Kill: Tyrannox attempts to make first contact with the humans of Operation R.E.B.O.O.T., specifically starting with the Kids Next Door due to seeing them as the "superior species" of the planet Earth. Tyrannox's reception is given mixed results, considering the Kids Next Door have no idea how to process Tyrannox's introduction or just what kind of technology Tyrannox is made of.
