Main Members

    Nayrman214 (Ryan Malis)
The creator of the group. He's the one who presented the plan for BrainScratch Commentaries to Solaris at Find the Computer Room's forums, and later Johnny. He usually has a very strong opinion, almost never giving reason to his hatred or love of games or movies. Not only is he known for having a tendency to sound bland, but he's also known for being hilarious in a weird but sometimes clever kind of way. As he is in charge of recording the commentaries, he could be considered the leader of the BrainScratch Crew. In the beginning, he was in charge of recording 100% of the games, but this later branched out to other members of the group and eventually started sharing HD recording with Johnny.

Ryan has appeared in almost all of the commentaries, contrary to popular belief.

So far Ryan has recorded:

Tropes that apply to Ryan:
  • Accentuate the Negative: Ryan will often be the first member to point out any flaw that he believes the game has.
  • Bias Steamroller: Nayrman has a huge grudge against EA and Capcom.
    • He's outright admitted to hating Gen 3 of Pokemon (despite never playing it) and it really shows during the review of IGN's Top 100 Pokemon list (in which he admitted this hatred).
    • Motion controls, especially if they're forced in a game for the sake of having them.
  • Blood Knight: Mostly in the New Super Mario Brothers Wii playthrough, but he generally likes to kill any enemy in his way.
  • Born Lucky: If you can wall jump, in a game you can't wall jump in, and kill an enemy in a Mario game, by jumping under it, you are beyond lucky. Now if only that applied for him outside video games...
    • He wins Waluigi's Island by doing nothing but running around in circles and spouting "Anarchy!". This can be attributed to him spending the entire board on the space switching island, but even then, he was just doing it to be a dick and wasn't even trying to win.
      • A general rule: If it's a multiplayer game, expect Ryan to dominate and likely win it by default.
    • He's also exceptionally good at Superman 64, causing Ted to suspect he bribed the game.
  • Calling Your Attacks: "Super 69 Awesome Spinning Attack, GO!"
  • Catch Phrase: Nayrman seems to have a lot of these. Here's a quick list:
    • "Yaaay!"
    • "Pourquoi?!" (literally French for "Why?!"), although this one isn't used as much anymore.
    • "Huzzah!", although this one isn't used as much anymore.
    • "You could just go."
    • "Hi, [Insert Name Here]."
    • "Bye X", whenever an enemy is leaving the screen.
    • "I'm glad I paid for those child grabbing lessons." (Said whenever any character is kidnapped or grabbed.)
    • "You've wasted so much of my time", used whenever the person recording the game they're commentating over... well, wastes their time.
    • "God Dammit!" Said whenever Ryan fails on completing a section or when something out of nowhere hits him.
    • "Sloooow doooown," whenever the game's frame rate drops or chugs along.
    • "Weeeee," said whenever the player character goes flying in the air.
    • "Blindsided!"
    • "Fuck you, I can fly!"
    • "You got a/the X!" said whenever the player character gets an item and Nayrman says the phrase in the same tone of Zelda's "item get" jingle.
    • "Oh My." Said in the style of George Takei.
    • "It's symbo-o-olic!" Said whenever something, well, symbolic occurs.
    • "Anarchy!" and "Chaos route!" During the Waluigi's island board of Mario party 3. Also, "Waah!"
    • ""Dr. Light is an ass hole!", which he says in every Mega Man X commentary.
    • "It's everyone's favorite X!" whenever a hated character/level/mechanic is shown on-screen.
    • "Eeeeeeevil Koopa wizard!" whenever Kamek/Magikoopas appear.
    • Seems to have a new one every video, which he will proceed to use constantly, only to never use it again once the video is over.
  • Celebrity Resemblance: While it has not been said by any of the crew, he resembles a cross between Kramer from Seinfeld and Leonard from The Big Bang Theory
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Like most of the BrainScratch crew, he has a very foul mouth.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Mostly in recent commentaries.
  • Dull Surprise: He claims this is why he needs the other commentators.
  • Evil Laughter
  • Fan Boy: Batman could eat a nursery full of babies and Ryan wouldn't care.
    • DC in general, though John says it is probably nostalgia.
  • Grumpy Bear: Sometimes. It usually only when something really irritates him.
  • Guttural Growler: Definitely has the most deepest voice out of everyone.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Ends up dying to TOAD MAN of all people due to his "speedrunning" in Megaman 4.
  • Jewish and Nerdy: In the commentary of The Santa Clause for Hellfire Commentaries' Disneython, Ryan mentions several times that he is Jewish.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: With Pokemon competitive battling. Downplayed in comparison to Ted, it mainly comes in whenever he judges a Pokemon as "good" or "bad" based on the same insufficient criteria of typing and bias. Unlike Ted, he at least doesn't argue with others as if he knows more about it than they do.
    • Although to his credit, Ryan DOES have a much better idea of competitive battling, such as how to use a sandstorm team effectively, and anything he's harsh on does have points against it (like, if he were to hate on ice type hail teams, it would be because of ice's notorious Glass Cannon reputation).
  • Man Child: Just as much as the others and he knows it.
  • Never My Fault: He often tries to come up with an excuse whenever he fails miserably. This is especially noticeable in the Super Mario 3D World playtrhough where he uses the camera as an excuse for why is failing.
  • Never Live It Down: Dying to Toad Man.
  • Old Shame: The Mario 1 and Mega Man 2 commentaries. Also, IT'S TOAD MAN!
  • One of Us: He was referencing TV Tropes, long before this or the main page was made.
  • Otaku: Putting aside the general nature of the channel and its commentators, he's acknowledged as the one most informed about Anime and Manga.
  • Significant Anagram: The first four letters of his net handle are an anagram of his first name.
  • The Smart Guy: Oftentimes he will bring up a scientific explanation to whatever topic is at hand, such as Spike being able to survive in space due to internal pressure. He has stated the only class he ever failed was Programming (or coding, whatever), implying that he survived Calculus with one of The Four Horsemen of Georgia Tech.
  • The Quiet One: Ryan isn't particularly chatty, but in lets plays for DmC: Devil May Cry and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, he would go on for several parts without saying anything, which was lampshaded by Johnny. Even the commentators noticed how quiet Ryan had gotten.
  • The Stoic: He's pretty much reserved and indifferent at times unless something really grinds his gears.
  • Troll: A defining characteristic. Particularly when recording the Megaman 3 footage and refusing to edit out a tedious grinding segment that lasted two parts and during the Waluigi's island board of Mario party 3. He basically spends the entire time dicking people over with the space switching island And he still wins. Basically, if he can screw you over by any means, he will.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: Ryan was quite snarky in the early days of the channel (and still is to this day) towards Nintendo, but he genuinely loved the games he was snarking at. As the years went on, Ryan grew more and more cynical, complaining a lot more about Nintendo's decisions and their directions while turning up the snark in their more recent games without joking about it. He seems to have mellowed out in more recent commentaries, though.

    SolarisParadox/The Heartless Wanderer (Lewis Medeiros)
Solaris is the second founder of the channel. The idea of commentating was originally pitched to him by Ryan, after which he later invited Johnny. He has a haircut that's styled after Leon S. Kennedy's due to his admiration for the Resident Evil series and usually goes on various rants, talking about subjects which are unrelated to the game he's commentating over. He'll also find something to compare Sonic the Hedgehog to in each and every one of their playthroughs, but even with this said, he has claimed to be more of a Persona fanboy. He's known for having technical problems which have effected his presence in the group and is not afraid to be self-deprecating either. This is because he makes fun of the fact that he is unemployed and that his references are too nerdy for the other commentators. Additionally, he has a distinct problem with questioning logic in video games, no matter what game it might be (though this seems to have become far less prominent in later commentaries).

Despite being a full member, computer problems have lead Lewis to miss these commentaries:

So far Lewis has recorded:

Tropes that apply to Lewis:
  • Abandoned Catchphrase: Lewis's "Peach was useful!" was abandoned after its overexposure during the 3D World playthrough.
  • Adorkable: The way he rambles during his own playthroughs (specifically Sonic 1):
"Now, I hesitate at every single crusher down here because I'm a pansy. I hesitate like that, crushers make me nervous."
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The amount of blue screens his past computers have suffered would make any sane man mad.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: No matter how unrealistic a video game's setting and characters are, he's always concerned about less questionable things.
  • Allergic To Needles: Mentioned in the F-Zero Gx playthrough, that when he gets a shot, he passes out.
  • Artistic License – Linguistics: He discovered the proper pronunciation of "Awry" during their commentary of Sonic '06.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Lewis is a pretty nice guy, if a bit shy and full of snark, but when the crew's channel was fucked over due to a copyright strike and the group was getting no help from YouTube, it made him quite irritated and rightfully so. However, his anger exploded when he found out that people were harassing the woman that issued the copyright strike (which she later apologized for since it was a mistake on her part and she posted a video of her trying to remove her claim, but couldn't do it due an unknown error) and he called out everyone that was trying to demonize her and other let's play channels that didn't like Brianscratch.
  • Bias Steamroller: To most 8-bit games, with the Super Mario games being the only known exception.
  • Catch Phrase: Whenever he starts arguing about something, is cut off at the end of the part, and then re-mentions his point at the beginning of the next part, he says, "As I was saying".
    • He also says "I have a question," for when he wants to ask a question and wants everyone else to be quiet.
    • "I accept my position as your lord and savior."
  • Character Development: At the beginning of Mario 3D World playthrough, he spent a majority of the time running around in circles and dying. As the game progresses though, he becomes more competent, spouting "Peach is/was useful!" whenever he does something good.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Seems to think on a different wavelength than the others, as he'll tend to ramble on topics with little to no relation to the current game that no one else gets and not understand comments that the others make.
  • Cursed with Awesome: He was bullied as a child... but at one point, the bullies threw money at him. They paid for his ice cream that day.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Much more so in earlier commentaries, but he still snarks every now and again.
  • Evil Laughter: Doesn't do so often, but when he does, it's impressive.
  • Fan Boy: Of the Sonic, Persona, Resident Evil, Naruto, and ESPECIALLY the Devil May Cry series.
  • Grammar Nazi: Lewis tends to correct the grammar of the other commentators.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: He looks near identical to Leon S. Kennedy. Though, this was intentional, as he states that one day he brought his copy of Resident Evil 4 to the Barber Shop and asked them if they could give him Leon's haircut.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Lewis's call sometimes drops while he's talking, prompting the rest of the commentators to shout "Lewis? Lewis! Leeeeeeeeewwwiiiiiiiiissssss!!!!!!!"
  • Kleptomaniac Hero: If he can collect it, you bet your ass he will. And he will complain if someone (usually Johnny) passes up easily-obtainable collectibles. This occasionally comes back to bite him in the ass, as seen in the Catherine playthrough.
  • Man Child: At the very least a parody of it.
  • Logic Bomb: He will be the first to question something in a commentary. His logical questioning eventually gets the better of him in the Kid Icarus Uprising commentary.
  • Peek-a-Bangs: Styled after Leon S. Kennedy.
  • Put on a Bus: Several times, due to computer problems. This began the many sagas of the Not-Lewis Chronicles.
  • The Spock: Often questions nonsensical aspects of the games they comment on.

    SomecallmeJohnny (Juan "John" Ortiz)
The most well-known of the group. He's a video game reviewer on Youtube with over 240,000 subscribers and was invited by Solaris to join the group, eventually sharing the liberty of recording the group's HD games with Ryan. He's also the one who will usually try to give the most information on the game he's commentating over and ask questions related to it, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's professional. He was initially quite shy and, in the first few commentaries, barely said a word, but now some may argue he's the most lively member of the group. Although he's usually very foul-mouthed and comedic, he can be very serious about the stuff he works on, such as his reviews and the infamous second part of A Sonic the Hedgehog Q&A, which came out after about half a year of schedule slips.

Johnny has appeared in almost every commentary to date, since he's one of the original BSC members.

So far Johnny has recorded:

Tropes that apply to Johnny:
  • Angrish: In Part 17 in Portal 2 Co-Op.
    • Sonic Genesis as well, especially during the unnecessarily complex trial up a flight of flail-guarded stairs.
    • Also at the beginning of the Shadow The Hedgehog LP, when explaining why he finds the game worse than Sonic 06.
FTA: I think this game has broken Johnny!
  • Artistic License – Linguistics: He learned how to pronounce Chasm during their first TV Tropes episode.
    • Johnny managed to screw up his grammar in Part 1 of Sonic Genesis and ends up saying at one point "A fuck ton of lot".
  • Bald of Awesome: In the beginning, John did have hair, but over the years it slowly began to get thinner, until it reached the point it is now.
  • Bias Steamroller: To all anti-gravity & ice gimmicks in platformers, as well as deep underwater areas.
    • Although his hate of underwater areas is more of a childhood fear created by Ecco the Dolphin .
  • Berserk Button: Sonic Genesis. Even the entertainment value from displaying how broken the port is couldn't subside his rage from countless cheap deaths.
    • Shadow The Hedgehog, which he finds worse than Sonic 06 because of the tedious "Find/Kill all X" missions and having to replay the game 9 more times for 100% Completion. It is the only game that he openly expressed reluctance to comment on, as even Genesis at least gave the joy of showing it off to Ted.
    • In the past, he would get very irritated when anyone made fun of his weight, often insulting the person right back. Nowadays, he plays along with it.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Johnny is considered to be the most down to earth guy in the whole group and is usually not bothered by anyone with a different opinion, even if said opinion is downright stupid. That being said, it can be outright scary when Johnny suddenly flips out when one of the above in his Berserk Button triggers is pressed or in the case of part 7 of the group's revisit of Sonic Adventure 2, getting into a very heated debate with Ted over how the game handles exploration for extra rewards and whether or not the game did it correctly.
  • Blood Knight: Will kill anything in his way when playing video games, even if they are harmless. Often says "They're in my way", as an excuse for killing them.
  • Book Dumb: While a genius in terms of what makes a good game, a highly skilled animator, and a master player at what he likes, he isn't the brightest guy in terms of academic/"book" facts. A minor example being that he didn't know that New Hampshire had no sales tax until Ted outright said it, despite the state being universally known for that. Even he admitted one time that Matt is most intelligent member of his group.
  • Catch Phrase: "Greed was the enemy!"
    • "My dick! My diiiiiiiccckkkk!"
    • "I would like to remind the audience that X is not Y..."
    • "For those of you who are not aware..."
    • "I was just about to comment on that."
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Possibly the most out of all the members.
  • Evil Laughter: The Clement and Johnny Classic City Escape video and the beginning of Sonic Genesis is the best example.
  • Fan Boy: Of the Sonic the Hedgehog and Metroid series.
  • The Hyena: Downplayed. He chuckles quite frequently.
  • Iconic Outfit: The majority of the fan art used in the thumbnails for the start of a lets play series has Johnny drawn in his gray hoodie/sweater and black pants, which he wore often on his own channel.
  • In Harm's Way: When he plays Mega Man X games.
  • Man Child: He does admit to this.
  • Man Witha Thousand Voices: The amount of impressions or original voices he can pull off is outstanding. Luigi seems to be his favorite.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He begins Sonic Genesis laughing maniacally before hysterically asking himself what he's getting everyone into.
  • Nice Guy: John is very respectful and friendly, possibly the most out of all the main members. Although, you have to look past his snarkiness and foul mouth.
  • Never Live It Down: "It's STORM EAGLE; I KNOW!"
  • One of Us: Was referencing TV Tropes, long before this page or the main page were made.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Even though his real name is "Juan", most people (himself included) just call him "John" or "Johnny".
  • Rage Breaking Point: Ryan winning on Waluigi's island by literally running around in circles and being a dick.
    • The final part of Sonic Genesis.

    ExandShadow (Edward "Ted" Wiesen)
The youngest member of the group. He joined at random as a guest during the Resident Evil 4 commentary, and later became a permanent member after recording Pokemon Yellow for the team, taking Lewis's place in some of the later commentaries. His strong passion for video games can often lead to him describing what he feels about them in great detail, particularly when it comes to games he loves (Paper Mario: The Thousand Year-Door, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations, Pokemon Crystal, etc.) and hates (Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Pokemon Platinum, etc.) within his favorite gaming series. He also has a tendency to voice his opinions as blatantly clear and honest as possible, not caring as to whether or not they ruffle anyone's tailfeathers whatsoever. His 'youthful innocence' and bright personality mix well with the other members of the group. Though originally disliked, he has eventually become an accepted member of the group.

Following his first appearance in Part 40 of Resident Evil 4, Ted has appeared in all commentaries except:

So far Ted has recorded:

Tropes that apply to Ted:
  • Accentuate the Negative: Not to Ryan's degree, but he still considers it odd to play through an entire game without bringing any attention to its flaws.
    • Generally, he will do this with any game he dislikes immensely. He jokingly does it to other games as well.
  • Artistic License – Music: He knows how to play the flute.
  • Adorkable
  • Artistic License – Linguistics: He tends to be the king of this.
    • He mispronounced Chasm in the second TV Tropes episode.
    • He also combined insignificant and inconsequential into Insiconsequential in part 2 of Sonic Genesis.
    • Again, Ted somehow manages to combine dramatically and drastically into dramastically in part 13 of Pokemon Crystal.
    • Ted coins the term "satisfication" in part 5 of Metroid: Fusion.
    • Ted combines Salvage and Scavenge into Scalvage in part 10 of Pikmin.
  • Ascended Extra: Ted was just added randomly during the Resident Evil 4 playthrough, before he eventually became a permanent member.
  • Ascended Fanboy: He was a big fan of Brainscratchcomms before he became a guest commentator and then the official fourth member of BSC.
  • Berserk Button: Bringing up having a shiny.
    • Although mentioned, if you say it in something unrelated to Pokémon, he won't care.
    • Anything related to Gen 4 of Pokémon tends to put him in a bad mood. Lampshaded by Ted himself during "The Bullshit Video", in which Ted observes that he could go on a rant over practically any aspect of the game that someone could bring up. During the Pokémon Y livestream, Johnny catches a Bidoof (that was female, mind you) and nicknames it Ted just to set him off.
    • He states that no game, not even Gen 4, pisses him off more than Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.
  • Bias Steamroller: Towards the Legend of Zelda for the NES, Pokemon Gen 4 and the Earthbound/Mother series.
    • To be fair, Zelda 1 is a very Guide Dang It game, and is best enjoyed by someone who has memorized how to complete it. Ted needed a guide at all times, and was repeatedly mocked for his constant deaths. He's also mostly indifferent towards the Zelda and Mother series. It's only with Gen 4 (part of a series which he otherwise loves) that he comes off as excessively hateful.
    • He is also against DC Comics, and has a very stubborn disliking of Batman. But that might just be because he's a Marvel fan.
  • Brought to You by the Letter "S": Ted wears a hat with the letter "T" on it.
  • Butt Monkey: The Zelda 1 LP in particular. Watch it all and you'll just why he has a Bias Steamroller against it.
  • Catch Phrase: "GOD DAMNIT!"
  • Celebrity Resemblance: People point out that he looks like Loki. Not that he minds at all.
  • Cousin Oliver: One of the youngest commentators to date.
  • Don't Explain the Joke: Does so very frequently.
  • Fan Boy: He adores the Pokemon, Kirby, Ace Attorney, Paper Mario, and Tetris series.
    • He also loves Sonic Adventure 2 more than any member.
    • Also, Marvel Comics
    • Don't forget Pikmin and the DK Bongos, as well.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: By his own admission, he used to have this with Gen IV of Pokemon, more so than any commentator toward any game when the game wasn't even the topic of the video (Ex. Johnny rarely raging about Sonic Genesis and Shadow the Hedgehog outside of their actual commentaries); anything about the game would set him off on an angry rant. He recently decided to keep quiet about it until the actual commentary.
  • Jerkass: Good god, where do I even start? First of all, he'll complain about something that he thinks is useless. For example in the Paper Mario: Thousand-Year Door Playthrough, he complains about how he hates the party member Flurrie and bitching about how useless she is. He also has a strong dislike against Pokemon Generation 4.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: While he was at one point a competitive battler, he stopped after Gen IV and considers the metagame from this point on "too unbalanced to enjoy". This results in a somewhat simple-minded view of the metagame based on immediately available information. One example was instantly deeming Magnezone bottom tier due to its 4X weakness (oblivious to its stats, move pool, or even resistances while on the topic of typing), as well as having simple-minded strategies like "always having Ice Beam", among other things. It doesn't help that Ted is intentionally avoiding learning more about the metagame.
  • Incredibly Lame Pun: Hoo boy.
  • Man Child: He is much younger than the others, but still old enough to qualify.
  • Mr. Fanservice: He seems to have obtained quite a few fan girls. He remains humble about it, though.
  • Pungeon Master: Not a very good one, but still...
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Ted pronounces the first couple of notes used for the battle themes in Pokémon Red and Blue as "widdly widdly widdly widdly widdly widdly woo". He uses it to describe a Random Encounter for RPG games in general.
  • Sugar and Ice Personality: Downplayed. Many fans complained that Ted's personality is divided depending whether if he's on Twitter or if he's commentating. They state that while he's happy, ecstatic, and friendly while commentating, he is more blunt and to the point on Twitter. He states that he does admit to doing this.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: He has at least said that he wants to become more tolerable to different opinions. YMMV on how well the execution has gone.
  • Un Evil Laugh: All of his attempts suck. Although, it is debatable if his attempts are real ones, or if he's just sucking on purpose.
  • Verbal Tic: In more recent videos, he seems to have developed a habit of ending most of his sentences with a chuckle noise. Can be rather hard to unhear once you've become aware of it.

    Creepy Elliot (Elliot Cancel)
Somecallmeelliot
Johnny's younger brother, and member of the Super Gaming Brothers, Elliot briefly joined the Comms for a couple of playthroughs before eventually fading into obscurity... that is, if the others would stop mocking him over his epic fails in the SGB Let's Plays. Poor Elliot just can't catch a break.

Don't ask us how he got into the comms, we have no fucking clue. But, he did supply a good amount of commentary when he wasn't being silent for several minutes on end. Dubbed "Not Lewis", by Ryan.

    FastestThingAlive (Gareth Spriggs)
Fastest Thing Alive

Former member of Hellfire Commentaries, FTA is the owner of the Find the Computer Room website, who knowingly mooches off of the Brain Scratch Crew for publicity... not that anyone really cares. Gareth is British/English, which obviously means that he gets the ridiculously inaccurate stereotypes of British people applied to him by Americans. Also the winner of the Brain Scratch Quotes 'Best BSC Guest' twitter poll.

    MMetelli (Matthew Metelli)
(One of) The Super Gaming Bros.
Johnny's best friend and fellow member of The Super Gaming Brothers, Johnny called Matt into the Comms because "Why the fuck not?". Unlike the other members who contribute useful information to the game in question, Matthew prefers to troll and crack dick jokes (to his credit, though, he is highly knowledgable on the games he commentates over, whether on BSC or The Super Gaming Bros).

Also, according to Johnny, he's the guy who started the TV Tropes page for the group in the first place!

    SonicandShadowFan15 (Amanda)
SonicandShadowfan15 aka Aylee the Hedgehog
Amanda is the first female commentator of the group. She joined the group after making several forms of BSC fanart, which the guys accepted with pleasure. Despite initial and (unfortunately) ongoing fan backlash, she remains positive and carefree during most of her commentaries. She has most definitely improved her attitude as she has settled in and appeared on more BSC content, despite the polarizing opinions on her.

Tropes that apply to Donnie:

  • Attention Whore: Shows shades of this with his several acts of Self-Deprecation.
  • Butt Monkey: Most of his commentary in the Opening Days of Mario Kart 8 is him pointing out how he got hit with every item imaginable.
    • Even in Smash Brothers, the bad luck of Mario Kart looks down on him; the first item to spawn in his first match is a Blue Shell, and guess who it targets...
  • Guest Star Party Member
  • Never My Fault: Just remember, nothing bad Donnie does is ever his fault (Or so he claims), whether it's reading questionable comments in the Twitch / Youtube Gaming chat just because they're there or getting Johnny to show off an NSFW fanfiction (That he was well aware of) during the 2015 Sonic Hacking Contest.
  • The Quiet One: At times. Thus, the Running Gag is the occasional joke of "Hey, Donnie's here!", by some people when he does get to talk.
    • Of course, when he does get to speak, he's usually just told to shut up anyway.
  • Remember the New Guy: Averted in his first appearance, where at least once every half-hour in the livestream, someone in the comments would ask who the "bottom-left guy" was.
    • He also seems to believe that since he was never featured in an actual commentary yet, this trope's aversion is justified.

    Chuggaaconroy (Emile Rosales-Birou)
Chuggaaconroy
That's right. The Chuggaaconroy. Apparently he was a fan of BSC and wanted to commentate with the others, and Johnny agreed. The main four met up with him at MomoCon and they decided to record some games live with him, and the rest is history.

Emile has appeared in the following commentaries:

    BitnerdGX (Derrick Bitner)
A member of GameXplain who is responsible for most of the writing and editing for the videos. The synergy with BSC began when Derrick messaged Ted on Twitter and asked him if he wanted to do a Pokémon OR/AS discussion with them; Ted accepted. Afterwards, they kept in touch and became pals.

C/K/Qatherine has appeared in the following videos:

Tropes that apply to C/K/Qatherine:

  • My Nayme Is: Is it Catherine, Katherine or even Qatherine? Who knows? I sure don't. But she wouldn't tell you anyway.
    • Recently her name has been spelled as Qatherine, so that might be the correct spelling.

    S0LV0 (Sylvia "Sol")

What happens when you let a catgirl escape the internet? You get S0LV0. S0LV0 is a music artist that has composed music for Johnny's review channel. She has been referenced in a couple of BSC Smash streams before finally making her appearance on-stream, making it the most lewd BSC stream to-date. Since then Johnny has been promoting her work, ultimately making a cameo on one of her donation streams.

Sol has appeared in:

  • Super Smash Bros. 3DS Livestream
  • BSC Settles It In Smash: It Takes Mewtwo To Tango!

    The FTCR Crew

The lovely people of Find The Computer Room.com (which doesn't exist yet), who have collaborated with the members of BSC on many of projects, including the Nintendothon, before being challenged to a VS match at Momocon. Trouble was, they didn't get to pick the game. Along with their leader FastestThingAlive (listed above), there's the "sidekick" MykonosFan, who was secretly ecstatic to be in a BSC video as they inspired him to do YouTube videos, the lovable MexiricanBassMonkey, resident NOT JonTron, TronJon, and of course, internet celebrity Smoovies.

MykonosFan, Smoovies, MBM, & TJ have so far appeared and taken part in:

  • Ascended Fanboy: MykonosFan. He's been watching since the beginning, dammit!
  • Never Gets Drunk: The gang was completely drunk through both tournaments, except for MBM.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Smoovies' original username was just SonicMovies, but now is only ever referred to as simply Smoovies. This also works for TJ.
  • Sentimental Drunk: Even when intoxicated, MykonosFan ends up being the calmest man in the room.

Fictional Characters

    Pretzel Bag

A bag full of pretzels, it originally lived with Ryan, until it apparently moved to Johnny's place. While there, Johnny proceeded to betray Pretzel Bag, and eat his intestines, killing him during The Pokemon Crystal Commentary. As of now, Johnny has not been punished, and the law has over looked this blatant case of murder. Probably because he was revealed to be alive in a recent stream of Johnny's. Now safe, away from Johnny's pretzel eating tyranny. For Now...
Tropes that apply to Pretzel Bag:

    Biffalo
A vast amount of beings, most named by Solaris Paradox. According to him, the name is a fusion of Biff Tannen and buffalo (as in buffalo sauce).
Johnny: That's just weird.

The list of Biffalos are as follows:

  • Biffalo I: The baby Metroid, introduced in Super Metroid.
  • Biffalo II: A constantly regenerating pet rock, introduced in Super Metroid.
  • Biffalo III: The Companion Cube, introduced in Portal. Has a pirate accent for some reason.
  • Biffalo IV: Apparently died of whiplash during his conception while trying to save the Leaf Village from a nine-tailed Demon Fox riding a giant toad. Mentioned in Portal 2.
  • Biffalo V: A Mabari Bloodhound that Lewis named offscreen. Mentioned in Portal 2.
  • Biffalo VI: Another Companion Cube, who inexplicably speaks in a thick Jamaican accent, introduced in Portal 2.
  • Biffalo VII: Blizzard Buffalo, also known by his full name Bilzzard Biffalo, introduced in Mega Man X3.
  • Biffalo XV: A yellow Pikmin who died at the hands of Ted's recklessness; the name Biffalo was given to him posthumously. Introduced in Pikmin.
  • Biffalo XXIV: A Dragon Quest Slime figurine owned by Ted. Named during the Too Many Games panel.

Tropes that apply to Biffalo:
  • Companion Cube: Biffalo The Third and Biffalo the Sixth were both literally Companion Cubes.
    • Besides that, every Biffalo is treated like this by Solaris.
  • Killed Off for Real: So far, Biffalo the Second and Biffolo the Third are the only ones that were seen onscreen who weren't killed.
    • Biffalo the Twentyfourth was killed by Ted, only to be revived a few seconds later.
  • Legacy Character
  • Token Non-Human: No incarnation of Biffalo has been human.
    • Though we have no idea what species Biffalo the Fourth is, Ryan assumes that it is another Companion Cube.
  • The Voiceless: The only incarnations of Biffalo that has spoken was Biffalo the Third and Biffalo the Sixth.
    • Although, Biffalo The Seventh may vary well be capable of speaking, but chose not to, summing this trope up to a tee.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: There are at least seven other Biffalos that weren't even mentioned in any commentary so far, as Biffalo the Fifteenth was introduced in Pikmin, with no mention of any of it's previous incarnations.
    • Even Lewis himself lost track of all those fuckers.

    Kirby
An adorable puffball hero, canniball, and Sith Lord.
Tropes that apply to Kirby:

    The Green Biker Dude
The only one to enter battle in Mega Man X2 besides the title character himself; his talents were wasted after a lucky shot murdered him at the beginning of the game. The playthrough was then dedicated in his honor. He will be missed.
Tropes that apply to The Green Biker Dude:

  • Badass Biker: The commentators attempt to play up his badass nature, but only really have the fact that he rode a motorcycle to work with.
  • Badass Normal: Sure, he may have no powers, no weapons and no evidence of combat skills, but that doesn't stop him from being the best there is.
  • In Memoriam: After he crashes and dies, the clip is played back with sad music over it and its mentioned several times after that the playthrough is in his memory.
  • Killed Off for Real: Just as he was introduced in Mega Man X3, he was cruelly taken away from the world, who had to make due with some blue guy.
  • Memetic Badass: Again, there's nothing special about him besides the fact that he dies, but the crew decide off the bat to worship him.

    Pokémon Fan Club President
The owner of the Pokémon fan club in Vermillion City. While he likes giving free things away, he'll only do so after he finishes talking about his favorite Rapidash. And even then, he'll still call you up then and again to talk about it some more.
Tropes that apply to The Pokémon Fan Club President:

    Samus
A silent heroic soldier, has an extreme fetish of explosions, the bigger the explosion, the more satisfied she is.
Tropes that apply to Samus:

  • Battle Cry: "Shoulder Pads, AAAHHHH!!! (Hut hut hut hut hut)" According to Ryan and Lewis. Subverted in that it's only when she's in the Varia suit.
  • Mad Bomber
  • Samus Is a Girl
  • Stuff Blowing Up: She has a massive fetish for this sort of thing, as stated above.

     Manic-Depressed Luigi
Shy and frightful brother of Mario, has a dark view of most things, enjoys watching things go bad for Mario and often isn't impressed by anything. Has a significant rivalry with 'Annoying Dick Waluigi.'
Tropes that apply to Luigi:

    Waluigi Scapelli
Also known as 'Annoying Dick Waluigi'. Not very different then his normal self, Aside from being a drug addict, gambler, a Titan, a follower of lord Helix, and the alter ego of Arlon the Serene from Kid Icarus: Uprising

     Donkey "Konkey Dong" Kong
The hero of DK Island who just happened to stumble into the group for Mario Party 4 and just sort of stuck around because, as he aptly puts it, "DK not know what doing".
Tropes that apply to DK:

  • Achievements in Ignorance: He's openly too dumb to tie his own shoes, yet somehow succeeds. Quick to claim "DK KNOW WHAT DOING", before some inevitable following hiccup leads him to admit "DK NOT KNOW WHAT DOING".
  • The Big Guy: He's Donkey Kong. Luigi is rather fond of exploiting this when available. Also why nobody generally tries to pick on him.
  • Friend to All Living Things: In his own words, "DK EVERYONE'S FRIEND". Yes, even K. Rool.
  • Functional Addict: While everyone believes he's drunk on banana, DK is quick to correct them in that he's just been hitting a bit too much Crystal Coconut.
  • Gentle Giant: Not an ill-meaning bone in his body.
  • Hulk Speak: Oddly enough, this is his more humorous trait.
  • Idiot Hero: His entire MO.
DK DO IT. DK DO IT GOOD.
    • Idiot Savant: ...Though he has rare flashes of striking, lasting competence.
  • No Indoor Voice: You can just hear the nonstop capslock in his caveman fashion of speaking.

    Crazy Toad
A con artist and possibly the the devil.
Tropes that apply to Toad:

    Tails
Sonic's best friend, it seems that they're only friends because Tails is still waiting for the penny Sonic stole from him.
Tropes that apply to Tails:

  • Butt Monkey
  • Running Gag: His missing penny.
  • Super Wheelchair: In the Sonic Heroes commentary, they say that in Adventure 2 he was apparently paralyzed, and he used his mech as his wheelchair. His physical therapy is now over, but he still rides it every Saturday morning because he likes it.

    Captain Falcon
The god of awesomeness. He owns a church and runs non-believers over with his car instead of smiting them. His signature Falcon Punch can break galaxies.
Tropes that apply to Captain Falcon:

  • A God Am I: Ryan would have you believe Captain Falcon is infallible, and they're characterization of the guy agrees.
  • Memetic Badass: Falcon's character is all in reference to memes related to his Falcon Punch and Large Ham nature in the Super Smash Bros. series.
  • Signature Move: The Falcon Punch, which will invariably be pronounced "Falcon PAWNCH" and be offered as the solution to any problem Falcon may encounter.

    Waddle Dooters
Also known as "Waddle Dee". Formerly the hardest boss in existence, Waddle Dooters is now an ally. Most of his family members are dead, but they do occasionally give him unhelpful advice from beyond the grave.
Tropes that apply to Waddle Dee:

    Sterence
Sterence is the name of the first Metroid met in the Metroid Prime commentary.
Tropes that apply to Sterence:

    Juckles and Knuckers
Juckles and Knuckers are two Echidnas that "aid" Dr.Eggman in Sonic 3CD & Knuckles & Knuckles, Juckles is a beatnik who recites poetry and Knuckers is a Rastafarian who bangs on the bongos and smokes weed.

The boat from Pokemon2000, who has shown skills beyond the so-called "Chosen One", Ash Ketchem. His grandfather, Ship, was found wrecked in the Link: The Faces of Evil commentary.

     Schmiyamoto
Miyamoto's evil twin, apparently the only person able to bring him down besides Yuji Naka. Brought up in Part 3 of their Splatoon playthrough. Has an Evil Spock goatee and Wario's mustache.
