     District Tributes

Altan Knight

Credited to: Hoprocker
District 1's eighteen-year-old volunteer who desperately wishes for glory to fall on his family.

  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Cetronia's Abel. The dynamic is quickly subverted when Knight's attempt to kill her fails.
  • The Fettered: Honor is a really big thing in the Knight family.

Cetronia Livius

Credited to: palm-biitch
A volunteer from District 2 who is ahead of her year.

  • Amazonian Beauty: Cetronia is very muscular and very beautiful.
    • Statuesque Stunner: To top it all off, she stands at a stunning 6'3 - the tallest of all the tributes.
  • Cain and Abel: The Abel to Knight's Cain. The dynamic is quickly subverted when Knight's attempt to kill her fails.
  • WILD/CARD: Cetronia has no real alliances, only agreeing to get rid of the Careers for Croix and Gossamer out of convenience.

Daphne Petheraph

Credited to: Platrium
An aspiring chemist from District 3 who is a member of a self-proclaimed "quartet" of budding scientists.

  • Hollywood Tourette's: Averted. It's stated in Daphne's introduction chapter that her tics are the same as the author's (squeaking and limb spasms).
  • Stress Vomit: Daphne does this after seeing firsthand Cole's particularly gruesome death.
  • Teen Genius: Daphne is a prodigy in chemistry and coding, and dreams of studying chemistry at university in the Capitol when she's older.

A frequently bullied boy from District 5 who struggles to keep up a smile at all times.

Finnegan "Finn" Styx

Credited to: david12341
A young man from District 6 who has lived a remarkably happy life till now.

  • Ascended Fanboy: Played with. Finn's shown to be a big fan of Lola Amos, but not the Hunger Games.
  • I Will Only Slow You Down: Finn legitimately believes this with his broken leg, but so far no one has died in the alliance and the plan to get Finn out of the bloodbath alive has worked flawlessly.
  • Things Get Real: When he breaks his leg during training, resulting in the Nausea Fuel that is his bone sticking out and blood splurting everywhere.

Phyllis "Ham" Hamilton

Credited to: Little Knight Mik
The youngest of four coming from District 7 who was unfortunately reaped on her final year.

Chambray Hemingway (Calico Hemingway)

Credited to: shiftseveny
A cautious yet upbeat girl from District 8.

  • Cool Bike: Cham's transportation of choice when she and Calico make deliveries to their parents' customers. Complete with Cool Sidecar.
  • Twin Switch: After Chambray is reaped, her twin brother Calico swaps place with her in the Justice Building, taking her place in the Games, pretending to be his sister.

Oryza "Bel" Belfast

Credited to: Wetstar
A young deaf girl from District 9 who's lived a sheltered life up till now.

  • Elective Mute: Bel can speak on occasion, but is noted to be uncomfortable using full sentences when she has to speak.

Octavia Faye

Credited to: mukkou
The daughter of a struggling butcher in District 10, and currently the only thing holding her family together at this point.

  • Break His Heart to Save Him: A minor example. Despite all the annoyances that lead to Octavia delivering a harsh "The Reason You Suck" Speech, part of Octavia breaks up with Hugo prior to being Reaped to keep him from blaming himself if she dies.
  • Missing Mom: Octavia's mother, Isabelle, is an infamous rebel on the run who has been missing for much of Octavia's life.
  • Punny Name: Octavia turns Ham's nickname into this when they're sponsored a jar of honey.
Octavia: It means you're gonna be a glazed ham for the day.

Jareth Vilna

An orphan from District 11 whose parents' mistake follows him wherever he goes.

Cole Aish

Credited to: goldie031
An orphan from District 12 who works as a "canary" in the mines.

     Capitol Tributes

Valentina Teagan

Credited to: misfit-right-in
A sixteen-year-old aspiring Gamemaker, Val is the Capitol partner of Altan Knight.

Wystan Warwick

Credited to: ThatOtherAsian
A fourteen-year-old with a serious case of bad attitude, and isn't afraid to let anyone know - including Cetronia Livius, his District partner.

  • Bratty Half-Pint: He acts like a self entitled prick.
  • Death by Irony: There's a particular quote from Wystan that gives his death a certain level of irony.
Wystan: You die in the bloodbath because you weren't as good as your opponent, not because some schmuck decided to fuck with you without your knowledge.
  • Honor Before Reason: Wystan refuses to use his sabotage because he believes it to be cheating. Could also be seen as Lawful Stupid.

Nikostratos Croix Farrington

Credited to: CelticGames4
An intelligent Capitolite with dreams of becoming the next Head Gamemaker, but first must work with Daphne Patheraph to get out of the arena.

Simoleon Serif

Credited to: Rockafansky
An agoraphobe who's still in denial about their phobia and anxiety, Simi is the Capitol partner of Adrianne Evans and a walking resource for LGBT+ knowledge.

Quatra X

Credited to: goldie031
The second-youngest of a spy family and sent into the Hunger Games to watch over Octavia, Quatra watches from afar while trying to keep Tooru Ikeda safe.

Morganite Gardierre

Credited to: TheEngineeringGames
Morganite's a party girl who wants to be an escort when she grows up, just like her mother was, but for now has to escape the arena - with or without Finnegan Styx by her side.

  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl
  • Stress Vomit: Played with. Morganite made a mistake in drinking ipecac instead of what she thought were painkillers right before her name was called out. You can guess what happens from there.

Cyber Tronovsky

Credited to: Platrium
Originally from District 3 and moved to the Capitol under unique circumstances, Cyber is doing his best to get along with his District partner, Phyllis Hamilton, and return to his old life.

Luxor Aricunai

Credited to: TheEngineeringGames
Famed model with a heart of gold, Luxor hopes to win the Games with Calico/Chambray Hemingway no matter what.

  • Pretty Boy: Fawned over by pretty much everyone, he's so beautiful.
  • True Companions: Despite finding out Cham was actually Calico all along, and that Luxor was wrongfully reaped because of the charade, Luxor still remains by his allies' sides.
Luxor: When the timer goes off tomorrow I'm gonna stick to you like glue. Have to kill me to get rid of me.

Epsilon Church

Credited to: david12341
Following the disastrous childhood he's endured, Church has volunteered for the Hunger Games in hopes of winning with Oryza Belfast in order to make things right.

  • Failure Knight: Wishes to protect and win the Games with Bel, who reminds him of his younger sister, and be redeemed through her.
  • Healthcare Motivation: Church volunteers for the Games to pay for his sister's treatment.
  • My Greatest Failure: What Church views a vast majority of his life and his sister's comatose state to be.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: Church frequently struggles with the trauma of losing of his mother, and blames himself for her death.
  • Self-Made Orphan: By accident. Church killed his mother in a car accident and now lives under the care of his family's butler, Leonard.

Gossamer Wormwood

Credited to: OfficialBengy
A narcissist who takes joy in psychoanalysing and toying with his fellow tributes, he's Octavia Faye's number one enemy in the Games thus far.

  • Aggressive Categorism: Of other tributes into common 'archetypes'. Played with, and subverted through personality-based categorisation.
  • The Chessmaster: Gossamer uses his Sabotage to manipulate the launching locations of Tributes once they arrive in the Arena.
  • Good Is Boring: Above all, he wishes to be entertained. And good isn't entertaining.
  • Narcissist: Gossamer has NPD, and views himself as vastly superior to the other tributes in the Games.
  • Shot in the Ass: Luxor was so close to shooting Gossamer in the ass with that arrow. Just a few inches higher...

Avita Clements-McMillan

Credited to: HogwartsDreamer113
Compared to everyone else, Avita is a normal girl who was unfortunate enough to be reaped into District 11's team with Jareth Vilna, who she deems "the worst" of the Districts.

  • Bloody Horror: Avita witnesses this on both sides of her podium, following Wystan and Cole's deaths.
  • Ignorance Is Bliss: She isn't fully aware of the horrors of the Games, and wants to stay that way.
  • Naïve Everygirl: Avita is just like any other Capitol girl out there, with the added bonus of being too trusting for her own good.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Believes all she's been fed about the Hunger Games and goes into them with unwavering optimism.

Florance Fontana

Credited to: CelticGames4
A sweet child who loves owls, Florence gets along swimmingly with her partner Cole Aish over their shared naivete and love of avians.

     Mentors

Atticus Clarke

The District 1 mentor and victor of the previous Quell, where only twelve-year-olds were allowed to participate.

  • Smug Smiler: He fits this trope in every appearance he makes including the naive Valentina's introduction.

Felix Brough

The District 2 mentor who just barely survived his Games, rejected by the careers and left to starve the death.

  • Fat Bastard: He's obese, he's self-assured and a little pompous.

Synthia Quanta

The District 3 mentor who participated in the same Games as Ham's brother.

Melvin Pike

The mentor for District 4, and a rare case of a career choosing an underdog alliance over the pack.

  • Covered with Scars: Melvin's always wearing warm, woolly clothing and scarves, even with it's hot out. Why? Because he's covered in frostbite scars, of course!

Adam Jackson

The District 5 mentor, who's past his heyday and frequently tormented by kids in his District.

  • Creepy Souvenir: While he wasn't allowed to take home to actual dog-tribute hybrid muttations from his Games, Adam made certain to commission statues of every single one. Even the tributes who weren't made into mutts postmortem.
  • Woman Scorned: Adam was on the receiving end of this after exhausting his ex-wife, Morrigan. On the eve of the 85th Games, which Morrigan went on to mentor for, Adam had most of his belongings removed from his home and lost custody of his children to her. All he has left to comfort himself are his statues, which even Morrigan acknowledges are all he cares about.

Barbara Thisbe

The District 6 mentor with very strong opinions about how tributes "play" the Hunger Games.

  • Achey Scars: Barbara's eye and the area around it is heavily scarred, and in a conversation with a horrifically hungover Morganite she reveals that she's in constant pain because of it. That doesn't mean she'll give in and let herself get addicted to morphling to cope with it, though.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Everyone calls her Barb, which she prefers over Barbara.
  • The Cynic: Let's see... Lost someone dear to her in her Games? Check. Attacked Finn after he tried to help her sister relieve her withdrawals? Check. Despises the idea of people trying to be heroes for others? Check. And then, of course, there's her advice to Morganite when they discuss how she'll survive the Quell.
Barb: You won't be looking for allies. You'll be looking for shields.

Magnolia Hammond

The District 7 mentor and a potential employer for Ham prior to Ham's reaping.

  • Heroic BSoD: Maggie suffers from this in the bloodbath of her Games. It cost her the life of the career pack leader, who was the only one to approve of Maggie being recruited to the alliance.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Ham and Cyber's viewpoints every time Cirrus calls Maggie "Meowgnolia" hammer this trope home for her. She even hijack's Cyber's reaping just to keep Cirrus from catifying his name as well.

Charlotte Harper

The District 8 mentor and one of the more legendary victors in recent Hunger Games history.

  • Body-Count Competition: Played with. Charlotte took down almost half of the complete roster of tributes in her Games, but she wasn't truly paying attention to how many she took down. She just wanted to steal the cornucopia while everyone was busy hunting everyone else.

Rye Coven

The District 9 mentor and the victor of the previous year's Hunger Games.

  • Human Shield: Rye uses her District partner as one in the final three.

Dianne Atreus

The District 10 mentor who suffers from carnophobia as a result of her Games.

  • Nausea Fuel: Her whole introduction is this in spades. Not only does she have a giant, dead spider on top of her, but she goes on to skin and eat it in order to survive the night. It scarred her so bad that Dianne now gets physically sick at the mere sight of meat.

Barley Tanton

The mentor for District 11 and one of the younger victors in the roster.

  • Speech Impediment: Barley suffers from one of these after facing punishment as a child to keep from copying his brother's stutter. Naturally, that plan backfired.

Nirav Cashille

The District 12 mentor and one of the avoxes sent from the Capitol to replace the District's deceased.

  • Never Accepted in His Hometown: District 12 loathes Nirav. To the point where, when he was reaped, his escort only said one tribute was going into the Games. The only time he's been acknowledged since winning is when Haymitch demanded Nirav mentor instead of him.
