  • The Bus Came Back: Was a tentative kenkyuusei for the fifteenth generation who was finally brought back in April 2014, ten months after the majority of the generation had been announced and two months after the others had all been promoted to full members.

Iriyama Anna

Born on 2 December 1995 in Chiba Prefecture.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Annin
  • Ascended Extra: Got more exposure thanks to her role in Majisuka Gakuen 3 and being included in AnRiRe. She also managed to rank #30 in 2013's election from being not ranked.
    • Her #1 Rank in the 2013 Mecha Ike Kimatsu test possibly helped also.
      • Her rank in 2014 rose to #20.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Due to her looks, many of her fans believe she's half foreign. To play with this, Anna uses English words in her speech. However, she's fully Japanese.
  • Otaku Surrogate: Another anime fan, her favourite series are Gintama and K-On!.
  • Rapunzel Hair: Used to be the AKB member with longest hair, going past her waist.
  • Strawberry Shorthand: Her favourite food. She even mentions them in her catchphrase.

Born on 13 May 1998 in Miyagi Prefecture.

Born on April 11, 1994 in Osaka.

Originally from NMBs Team N, transferred to Team B during the 2014 shuffle. Moved to Team A during the March 2015 shuffle.

Ooya Shizuka

Born on 28 December 1991 in Fukuoka prefecture.

Named co-captain of Team B during the 2014 shuffle.
  • Affectionate Nickname Shiichan, Shizuchan, Yasshi
  • Bifauxnen: Since cutting her hair short, she tends to play with this, most notably in the Future Girls' "Show Fight".
  • Determinator: She spent a long time being a trainee, longer than other members who are in the same generation as her. She even ran away from a handshake event because of her lack of popularity. However, she managed to rank #29 in 2011's elections.
    • Sadly, she dropped down to #59 in the following year, and didn't even rank in 2013.
    • Other than the above, her catchphrase is "If you're energetic, you can do anything. I won't say I can't do it!"
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Subverted, her character often falls more in the Tomboy territory with her Bifauxnen image, yet she's a pretty good cook, as her father is a chef.

Owada Nana

Born on September 15, 1999 in Chiba Prefecture.

  • The Ace: Called this in terms of the fifteenth generation. She even centered AKB's coupling song on "Suzuke Nanchara", "Party is Over".
  • Affectionate Nickname: Naanya
  • Ascended Extra: Got into the senbatsu for "Labrador Retriever".

Kawaei Rina

Born on 12 February 1995 in Kanagawa Prefecture.

  • Adorkable
  • Affectionate Nickname: Ricchan
  • Ascended Extra: Got more exposure thanks to her role in Majisuka Gakuen 3 and being included in AnRiRe, as well as being selected as one of the 10 members for the "Sugar Rush" unit and becoming Center Baka and the center in the Undergirls song "Tsugi no Season". She also managed to rank #25 on 2013's election from being not ranked, and became the first protagonist of AKB'S variety show "U-Can Challenge".
    • She's also been somewhat of a regular in Senbatsu since "Sayonara Crawl", actually having her first Senbatsu be in "Manatsu Sounds Good". She made it officially to senbatsu in the 2014 elections, ranking #16.
  • Catch Phrase: Aside from her official one, "Uso darou ga!" ("That's a lie!") became her catchphrase after the Mecha Ike special when she became Center Baka.
  • Determinator: Was attacked during a handshake and couldn't take part in stages or concerts during months, but she made a comeback during the 2014 elections where she stated she would continue as a member of AKB and that she wouldn't let fear dominate her. Doubles as Crowning Moment of Awesome.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: "Haste and Waste", made for her after becoming Center Baka.
  • Gamer Chick: Carries her pink Nintendo 3DS everywhere.
  • Genki Girl: She even calls herself "Smile Center".
  • Girlish Pigtails
  • Ship Tease: With Juri.
  • Smelly Feet: Revealed during Mecha Ike that she needs a lot of socks throughout the day since her feet got smelly easily. After this happened, everyone now wants to smell her feet.
  • The Ditz: Was chosen as the Center Baka in comedy show "Mecha Ike".

Kojima Natsuki

Born on 8 March 1995 in Chiba prefecture.

Kojima Haruna

Born on 19 April 1988 in Saitama prefecture.

One of the only three remaining 1st Generation members.

  • Ascended Extra: She first became center of a single A-side with "Heart Ereki".
    • Although, to be fair, she did have a double center with Maeda Atsuko in "Romance, Irane" and had been a staple of the group's Senbatsu since its founding.
  • Christmas Cake: Averted. At 26 years old, she's currently the oldest member in AKB (if we exclude 36-year-old member Maririn from the temporary Otona AKB project)
  • Cloud Cuckoolander
  • The Fashionista
  • Image Song: "Heart Ereki", the first single that she got to center in 2013.
    • Theres also "Heart Gata Virus" from the fifth Team A stage, that actually originally was an image song for graduated member Oshima Mai that Kojiharu tends to perform nowadays to the point where fans tend to associate it with her. She even performed a solo version of it during the 2013 summer tour.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine
  • Odd Name Out: Is the only one not named Minami in no3b.
  • One Head Taller Next to the very short Takahashi Minami in their sub-unit no3b, she looks like a giant.
  • Rapunzel Hair: Used to have hair past her waist. It's still pretty long now, but not so much.

Sasaki Yukari

Born on 28 August 1995 in Saitama Prefecture.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Yukarun
  • Ascended Extra: Ranked #14 in the 2013 Janken Tournament, thus becoming part of the senbatsu of the single "Kimi no Hohoemi wo Yume ni Miru".
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She revealed on a NHK program against bullying that she was bullied in elementary school, and that her classmates wrote messages telling her to die in her desk.
  • Seiyuu: In a sense, she provided the voice for Eguchi Aimi and has also acted as her body double in concerts.

Shimazaki Haruka

Born on 30 March 1994 in Saitama prefecture.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Paruru, Ponkotsu, Zakkii
  • Ascended Extra: She first ranked as part of the Undergirls (although she wans't ranked the later year), but thanks to her main role in Majisuka Gakuen 3, winning the Janken Tournament and increasing her exposure in PVs she's now a member of the senbatsu.
  • Cosplay: The AKB official YouTube channel uploaded two videos where she cosplayed Asuka and Miku.
    • For the 2014 Janken Tournament, she cosplayed as Creamy Mami.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Her main trait. She's extremely salty.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: "Eien Pressure", composed for her when she won the 3rd Janken Tournament. Also "Douki", her solo used as the ending of Majisuka Gakuen 3.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Many fans noticed that when she got a new haircut in 2012 it looked like Acchan's trademark hairstyle. After a while wearing it longer, she cut it again in a bob, but not in the same style as Acchan.
  • Little Red Riding Hood: Her appereance in "Eien Pressure" is inspired on the fairytale.

Shiroma Miru

Born on October 14, 1997 in Osaka.

A concurrent member with NMB's Team M, where she originates form.

Takahashi Minami

Born on 8 April 1991 in Tokyo.

General Manager (Soukantoku) of AKB48 and sister groups. Also has a solo single, "Jane Doe", with a new one to be released soon.

One of the only three remaining 1st Generation members.

Was formerly the captain of team A since the 2009 team shuffle until up to when she was promoted to General Manager. Since the February 24th 2014 shuffle, she has been reinstated as Team A captain on top of her position of General Manager, but she lost the title to Yokoyama Yui during the March 2015 shuffle.

Has announced her graduation: it'll take place during AKB's 10th anniversary on December 8th, 2015.

Nakanishi Chiyori

Born on May 12, 1995 in Fukuoka Prefecture.

Originally from HKT 48, transferred to ABKs Team A during the 2014 shuffle.

Nakamura Mariko

Born on 16 December 1993 in Chiba prefecture.

Has become the co-captain of Team A following the 2014 group shuffle.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Komari
  • Image Song: Has taken Shinoda Mariko's spot in "Ue Kara Mariko" performances since she graduated.
    • Also received her own image song, 'Konjo', as a b-side on Maeshika Mukanee

Nishiyama Rena

Born on January 1st, 2001 in Chiba.

Team As first choice during the 2013 draft.

Hirata Rina

Born on 16 July 1998 in Fukuoka prefecture. Some sources say that she was born in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Maeda Ami

Born on 1 June 1995 in Tokyo.

Miyawaki Sakura

Born on March 19, 1998 in Kagoshima Prefecture.

Holds a concurrent position from HKTs Team KIV.

  • Adorably Precocious Child: Was a child actress before debuting as an idol.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Sakura, Sakuratan
  • Ascended Extra: She's the only original HKT member that has ranked in the 4th and 5th Sousenkyo since HKT's creation. She was also the first HKT member to debut as senbatsu in a non-summer AKB single, in "UZA".
    • In the 6th Sousenkyo, she managed to rank in at 11th, making her the first HKT member other than Sashihara Rino and first original HKT member in general to rank in senbatsu.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Cut her hair short in mid 2013.

Miyazaki Miho

Born on 30 July 1993 in Tokyo.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Myao
  • Demoted to Extra: Used to be a sembatsu member but has not been selected to perform in A-sides since 2010. She also dropped out of the rankings after the 5th General Election.
    • This year, she managed to rank again, but much lower than previously.

Morikawa Ayaka

Born on 24 March 1996 in Saitama Prefecture.

Yamada Nanami

Born on February 9 1999 in Hyogo Prefecture.

Also a member of AKB's Team 8.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Nanamichan, Nanami, Yamada
  • Last Name Basis: One of her nicknames is her just family name which is a bit strange in AKB. Even fellow Team 8 members will only refer to her as Yamada.

Yokoyama Yui

Born on 8 December 1992 in Kyoto.

Captain of Team A from of July 22nd, 2013 until February 24th, 2014 when she was moved to become captain of Team K. Moved back to Team A as its captain at the March 2015 shuffle.

On December 8th, 2014, Takahashi Minami named her as her successor as Soukantoku (general manager) of all 48 groups upon her graduation.

  • New Transfer Student: She was called this as a joke when she joined AKB: she's from Kyoto (instead of somewhere near Tokyo, where most of AKB members are from), and actually auditioned for SKE before joining AKB. Also played straight, as she held a concurrent position in NMB during a few months.
  • One Steve Limit: Shares the same full name with Team 8 member Yokoyama Yui. The two have different spellings from kanji though.
