    NGT 48 Rie

Born on 24 June 1991 in Aichi prefecture. Appointed as co-captain of Team K during the 2014 shuffle. At the 2015 shuffle, she was appointed as NGT 48's future captain.

  • Cry into Chest: To Matsui Rena, when it was announced her concurrent position in SKE was over.
  • Demoted to Extra: Dropped out of senbatsu in the 2013 General Election. Her exposition has also been considerably lower since a couple of years. However, her new position as NGT's captain has given her some spotlight, and she's made it back to senbatsu in 2015.
  • New Transfer Student: Was a member of SKE during a few months. The circle starts now anew, as she's appointed to become NGT's future captain.

    Team Kaigai Sae

Born on 13 August 1990 in Tokyo.

A SNH48's Team SII member, and formerly a founding member of Team K.As of 2014, she has become a concurrent member of SKE48's Team S and its Captain.

A member of JKT48's Team J and a former Team A member. One of the remaining third gen members who founded Team B.

Born on 23 April 1993 in Tokyo.

A fifth-generation member, Chikano was promoted to Team K in 2009 and was subsequently transferred to Team B in the 2009 Shuffle. In 2012 during the Tokyo Dome shuffle, she was sent back to Team K but with the latest group-wide shuffle, she has been moved to JKT48. While this is a transfer and not a concurrency, it is unclear if this will be permanent or not.

    Otona AKB Mariko

Born on July 16, 1976. Winner of the Otona AKB project, thus participating in handshakes and concerts from July 16th 2014 to September 1st, when she officially graduated, as part of a publicitary campaign with sweets company Papico. Currently working as a model.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Mariri, suggested by Shimazaki Haruka.
  • Christmas Cake: Oldest member in the group ever. A 37-year-old housewife, mother of two children, who is part of an idol group where most girls aren't even 22.
  • Image Song: "Oshiete Mommy", the song for the Papico CM she stars in.
  • Older Than They Look: She dances and looks quite good for her age.

Born on July 10, 1991 in Chiba Prefecture.

Joined at the start of AKB's formation and is one of the few members to have participated in almost every single.

Has released four solo singles.

Graduated on August 27, 2012 at the 2012 Tokyo Dome Concert. Currently on an actress and singer career.

  • Big Eater: Fans were shocked to find out that she had been having huge breakfast meals.
  • Book Ends: Sung the group's first single 'Sakura no Hanabiratachi' ("Cherry Blossom Petals") at her graduation performance, but in a different version called 'Sakura no Hanabira' ("Cherry Blossom Petal").
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Her latest single is called "Time Machine Nante Iranai" (lit. I don't want anything like a time machine), and she sings about now wanting to go back to the past and enjoying the present, and that she doesn't want to get a short hairstyle. Many people interpret this as a reference to how she doesn't miss her time in AKB.
  • Gem-Encrusted: The dress she wore for her graduation was encrusted with Swaroszki jewels. They were encrusted by important people in Atsuko's life, and the last one was encrusted by Minami Takahashi, her best friend.
  • Image Song: Apart from her solo singles, her graduation song, "Yume no Kawa" is the only one within AKB48 that counts.

  • Ascended Fangirl: Before being part of AKB, she was a waitress in a café next to their theatre. As she couldn't go to the auditions because of her work shift, hundreds of costumers from that café wrote to Akimoto Yasushi (48 family's producer) requesting to hold a special audition for her.
  • Christmas Cake: Averted. 27 years and still up and active until July 22nd, 2013 where she finally steps down.
  • Cool Big Sis Younger members often look up to her and she serves as a sort of mentor.
  • Cool Shades: Never seen without them in any PV.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: "Ue Kara Mariko", specially written for her.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Is very popular with female fans.

Captain of Team K from the 2009 team shuffle to until the 2012 Team Shuffle, with a break in between when she was suspended due to a scandal.

Graduated on 22 August 2013 at the Tokyo Dome concert, with her final performance on August 28, 2013. Currently on an actress career.

  • Affectionate Nickname Sayaka, OKARO, Akigori
  • Amazonian Beauty: She has a six-pack, a black belt in Aikido, and can carry a 78kg dumbbell. Quite a looker too.
  • The Bus Came Back: After a brief scandal, she retook her position as captain of Team K. However, she lost the captain role to fellow team member Oshima Yuko after another team shuffle was announced in 2012.
  • But Not Too Foreign: She's half Filipino, half Japanese.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: After graduating AKB, she confessed that her family lived in poverty for a long time.
    • Electricity and heating would often cut off, and all she could ever buy to eat were rice balls and discount meals at the supermarket. When they couldn't, all they'd eat was rice with soy sauce.
      • This was why she'd often asked the AKB staff to give her leftover lunch sets, even whole boxes full.
      • She also gained a bit of weight and had to diet.
    • Due to her Filipino roots, as a child, she was also bullied by some of the kids at school. She even mentioned that her father once came to the school and stood up for her.

Born on 16 October 1990 in Tokyo. Graduated on January 2014, and currently on a seiyuu career.

  • The Determinator: Was one of the last girls of her generation to be promoted. To increase her exposure, she decided to learn all the teams' stage dances. She seemed to do well, because she got #8 in her first election. However, she has dropped to #33 at the last election.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: She rotates between long, black hair and a brownish bob.
  • Seiyuu: Voices Yuuka Ichijou in their official anime: AKB0048.
    • Now she's voicing Arisu Tachibana in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls.
  • The Unfavorite: Not for fans, but for the management: despite ranking three times as part of senbatsu and being beloved by fans, she barely got any spotlight on those senbatsu PVs she managed to enter in, and wasn't chosen for any A-side outside those from the elections she entered in. Ayaka

This is the first time she's been featured into a non-summer single since 2008, before her scandal.
  • The Bus Came Back: Was fired in 2008 after a scandal but was let back into the group in 2009.
  • Demoted to Extra: While she was in Team B, she was extremely popular but following her scandal and her re-entry into the group, Ayarin's popularity dropped and she did not get to take part in A-sides. Misato

She announced her graduation on February 28, 2014 and graduated in April.The group's 2012 summer tour, 'Nonaka Misato, Ugoku', was named after her. Yuko

Former captain of Team K (2012-14) and previous center of AKB48 after Maeda's graduation (she lost the election to Sashiharo Rino of HKT).

Born on 17 October 1988 in Tochigi prefecture.

Announced her graduation during NHK's 2013 Kouhaku. She graduated on June 2014. Currently on an acting career.

Born on 10 December 1990 in Saitama Prefecture.

Has released an instrumental album, "Kokyuu Suru Piano" featuring mainly piano covers of AKB48 songs. Graduated on June 25, 2015 to pursue her career as a pianist.

  • The Cast Showoff: Got to open the 3rd 'Surprise wa Arimasen' concert in 2010, showing off her piano skills. She also played the intro to "Ponytail to Shushu" on the 2013 Fukuoka Dome concert.
  • Elegant Classical Musician: She's won several piano contests and is studying piano at the Tokyo Music College. Rina

Born on 12 February 1995 in Kanagawa Prefecture. One of the victims of the attack during a handshake in January 2014, that ultimately made her announce her graduation in 2015, due to being unable to attend handshakes because of her PSTD. Her graduation ceremony was performed during AKB48's Summer Concert in Super Saitama Arena on August 2, and her last stage performance was on August 4, 2015. She's now on an acting career.

  • Ascended Extra: Got more exposure thanks to her role in Majisuka Gakuen 3 and being included in AnRiRe, as well as being selected as one of the 10 members for the "Sugar Rush" unit and becoming Center Baka and the center in the Undergirls song "Tsugi no Season". She also managed to rank #25 on 2013's election from being not ranked, and became the first protagonist of AKB'S variety show "U-Can Challenge".
    • She's also been somewhat of a regular in Senbatsu since "Sayonara Crawl", actually having her first Senbatsu be in "Manatsu Sounds Good". She made it officially to senbatsu in the 2014 elections, ranking #16.
  • Catch-Phrase: Aside from her official one, "Uso darou ga!" ("That's a lie!") became her catchphrase after the Mecha Ike special when she became Center Baka.
  • Determinator: Was attacked during a handshake and couldn't take part in stages or concerts during months, but she made a comeback during the 2014 elections where she stated she would continue as a member of AKB and that she wouldn't let fear dominate her.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: "Haste and Waste", made for her after becoming Center Baka.
  • Gamer Chick: Carries her pink Nintendo 3DS everywhere.

Appointed as Team B Captain during the 2014 shuffle. Lost the position to Yuria in the 2015 shuffle.

Graduated to pursue a career as a sports newscaster, with her last performance on the theater being on August 17th. She also had a small graduation ceremony on the Saitama Super Arena concert on August 2nd.

Born on 27 December 1993 in Tokyo. A 5th generation member, she was the first winner of a Janken tournament.She’s also written and published a romance novel as well as opened a yakiniku restaurant.

Graduated to focus on the management of her restaurant, as she's unable to manage both her business and her idol career.

Transferred from Team K to Team B in the 2015 shuffle, but graduated before the shuffle took effect.

  • Ascended Extra: Won the first Janken Tournament and got to be the center for the single "Chance no Junban". Also managed to get into the single "Eien Pressure" from the third Janken Tournament and into the B-side "Harukaze Pianissimo" for the fifth..

Born on 17 May 1991 in Saitama prefecture.

The last member of the 2nd generation to graduate while in AKB. She graduated from the group on March 31st, 2016.

  • Demoted to Extra: Despite being an original member of Team K, she's only ranked in the elections once, in 2012.
    • When she debuted, she was originally considered the ace of the second generation, but she was quickly eclipsed by members such as Oshima Yuko and Kasai Tomomi.
  • The Ditz: Known for her “baka” character.
  • Image Song: "Kurukurupaa" from Team K's third stage and "16nin Shimai no Uta" from Team K's fourth stage, both of which she centered. Minami

Born on 8 April 1991 in Tokyo.

General Manager (Soukantoku) of AKB48 and sister groups. Also has a solo single, "Jane Doe", with a new one to be released soon.

One of the only three remaining 1st Generation members.

Was formerly the captain of team A since the 2009 team shuffle until up to when she was promoted to General Manager. Since the February 24th 2014 shuffle, she has been reinstated as Team A captain on top of her position of General Manager, but she lost the title to Yokoyama Yui during the March 2015 shuffle.

She gave up her position as General Manager of all 48 groups to Yokoyama Yui during AKB's 10th anniversary in December 8th, 2015.

Graduated at March 27th, 2016 on Ajinomoto Stadium after 10 years in AKB, with her last theather performance on April 8th, her birthday.

Has a career as an enka singer, having released five solo singles as well as a cover album.

Graduated on March 14, 2016 to pursue an enka singer career. Sub-units she's been in are:

  • Affectionate Nickname: Wasamin, Mikki
  • Ascended Extra: Got to rank in the 4th elections as the Next Girls center, her position descended the following year before increasing again to #49, giving her the Future Girls Centre position.
  • Cover Version: Has covered Nana Mizuki's "Eternal Blaze" and several AKB songs (notably "Flying Get" and "Koisuru Fortune Cookie") in enka style.
  • Kimono Is Traditional: In her singles she sings enka, and wears this to keep with the traditional mood. She usually performs wearing kimonos as well if she's doing a solo.
  • Otaku Surrogate: Is a fan of Uta No Prince Sama.
