- Flying Firepower: She doesn't actually shoot fire, but rather magical energy from her palms.
- Our Genies Are Different: Kelsey doesn't grant wishes for one, and her powers mainly consist of flight and shooting blasts of energy from her palms.
- Power Crystal: The amulet that allows her to transform.
- Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Kelsey isn't pleased by her outfit, which consists of a bedlah and pointy shoes.
- Shrinking Violet: Despite Garnet's figure and skimpy attire, Kelsey is actually extremely shy.
- Supernatural Gold Eyes: When she turns into Garnet, her blue eyes turn gold.

- Chess Motifs: She and her Checkmate Gang.
- Color Motif: Both her civilian attire and her supervillain outfit are entirely black. She even names herself after this trope. She's evil and she wants everyone to know this immediately.
- Corrupt Corporate Executive: As Regina Blake, she is CEO of Blackwood Games, a company that makes board and card games. She operates the Checkmate Gang out the back.
- God Save Us from the Queen!: Despite not having any royal blood, she certainly acts like a queen.
- It's All About Me: All she cares about is herself, and any attempts to act friendly or flirtatious are simply a means to an end for her.
- Lack of Empathy: She has no sympathy for the plight of others.
- Meaningful Name: Regina Blake means "Black Queen".
- Mooks: The Pawns, a group of human and robotic footsoldiers.
- The Vamp: She's entirely willing to use her voluptuous figure to her advantage.

The lead singer of Nickelback, Chad Kroeger truly became a force for chaos when he merged with an electric seal deity. His whereabouts are unknown after being defeated by Heavy Metal.- Instrument of Murder: He uses his guitar as a focal point of his magical powers, channeling attacks through it and towards opponents.
- The Power of Rock: He utilizes five musical elements - Metal, Rock, Grunge, Alternative, and Pop - when casting his musical spells.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Literally. His superpowers stem from merging with an evil entity that had been sealed away in a jewel - and said entity happened to be a seal.
- Shock and Awe: His musical powers are combined with that of an electric seal god, granting him an affinity for lightning.
