The central protagonist is an AntiHero Reach, a former Revenant (aka, [[OhCrap an elite trooper in Slender Man's army of darkness]]) who served Slender Man loyally for forty years.

Sometime last year, when the Slenderblogs became a community, Slendy ordered his pawn to register at blogspot and keep tabs on the the Runners and such. This, however, backfired when conversing with the bloggers ([[Blog/RoadToTheHeavens Amelia]] in particular, especially on the subject of his fianceé's death, but also [[Blog/WhiteElephants Robert]], [[Blog/AHintOfSerendipity Zero]] and Nessa) caused Reach to have a HeelFaceTurn and eventually rebel against his master and go on the run on December 4th. He was running alone for about a month and a half before a series of events lead to him almost having a HeroicBSOD and giving up. However, he was talked out of it by Thage and decided to team up with Blog/TheLondonLibrarian, Ava, investigating theories about Slender Man and seeking out a weapon that might be able to destroy the Slender Man. Then, the two-part ''[[WhamEpisode Another Day, Another Lie]]'' and ''I Am Raymond Shaughnessy'' revealed that [[spoiler:the entire persona of Reach was created by Slender Man, so that Reach would "infect" the blogosphere with the concept of Revenants, causing [[http://viveredisce-cogitamori.blogspot.com/2011/03/blame-it-on-clinical-depression-tome-2.html the Masquerade Effect]] to take hold, making people believe in non-existent superpowers so that they'd spend all their time fighting shadows instead of working against Slender Man.]] The blog took a very different turn after that revelation, with the introduction of [[TheDragon Slendy's new lieutenant]], [[SmugSnake Eulogy]], and Reach becoming a pawn to not only the Slender Man, but two mysterious entities called Nocturne and the Hanging Man.

The blog ended when Reach and [[spoiler:a pregnant]] Ava journeyed to Egypt to try and find another weapon inside the Herakleopolis Magna. This led to a final confrontation between Eulogy and Reach culminating in [[spoiler:Reach's apparent death at the hands of Slender Man.]]

After narrowly escaping Slender Man and [[Blog/WhiteElephants Redlight]] in Ireland, Reach was rendered human again and the two traveled to America to help [[Blog/WhiteElephants Robert Sagel]] and [[TheEleventhHourTrilogy the Delmont Family]], which ultimately resulted in Reach caring for a comatose Ava at Thage's house for several weeks.

[[WasOnceAMan He wasn't always this way]], though. He was originally a young man called Raymond Shaughnessy from Ireland who became haunted by Slender Man, but was offered the chance to join him and thus protect his fianceé Ariana and their unborn child. So he agreed to Slim's terms and was thus [[BodyHorror twisted and morphed]] into a Revenant; an unaging, super-strong, hypersensitised HumanoidAbomination. [[PainfulTransformation He said it was very painful.]] From there, he did Slendy's bidding more and more willingly with each passing year for four decades, harrassing, attacking and killing Runners and Conduits (humans with the ability to channel the same energy that gives Slendy his power). One of his victims was Thage of [[http://outsidepeeringin.blogspot.com/ Peering In From The Outside]].
