** By the DistantEpilogue of the side story, humanity had all but [[spoiler:driven the Decepticons off of Earth]]. Took them weapons based on [[spoiler:Cybertronian technology that Optimus Prime released for reverse-engineering]], but considering ''who'' was the enemy...
** Also from that epilogue, it's revealed ''how'' exactly Duke managed to survive the snake attack in ''WesternAnimation/GIJoeTheMovie''[[note]]the production crew had intended for him to be killed, but backlash from MoralGuardians over Optimus Prime's death in ''WesternAnimation/TheTransformersTheMovie'' resulted in [[ExecutiveMeddling Hasbro making the crew dub in lines that said Duke was merely in a coma]][[/note]]- Doc of the Joe team and First Aid of the Autobots helped to construct a new heart for Duke. Unfortunately, the toxins from the snake's venom had already made their mark on his body, so he was off the front-lines for the foreseeable future. [[spoiler: [[HeroicSacrifice Duke dies for real while stopping Overkill and a bunch of COBRA survivors from attacking graduation day at West Point]]; Overkill had done enough damage when he battled Duke- who managed to take out Overkill with a laser pistol set to overload.]]
