Awesome: Second Chance
Well, if Press Your Luck had great moments, why not its precursor Second Chance?
  • Spring 1977: The contestant seen in this picture from early in the run (note the FREE 5000 SPIN space in Square #4), who left with a grand total of $26,545.
  • Spring 1977: One contestant ran the board for quite a chunk of cash, which host Jim Peck claimed was around $60,000-$80,000. Said win predated Michael Larson by a good seven years, and forced ABC to add more patterns to the nine the show already had to prevent such a win from happening again.
