Madeleine accidentally causes Erik to injure himself, by forcing him to look at his reflection, which causes him to smash the mirror in terror. When he wakes up from a nightmare of his own face, Marie - who tended to his wounds and has sat up with him - demands that Madeleine go to comfort him. When Madeleine refuses Marie finally loses her cool, slaps Madeleine soundly round the face, gives her a blistering "The Reason You Suck" Speech, and slaps her again for good measure. However sorry you may or may not feel for Madeleine, she most definitely had that coming.
Erik killing Javert is a mix of this and Nightmare Fuel—mostly because of what was going on at the time and the start of Erik's Sanity Slippage. It's still incredibly good to see Javert get what was coming to him, at the hands of the "creature" he'd so often ridiculed.

Christine blossoming under Erik's tutelage, going from a mere girl selling songs with a voice that's nice-sounding but not too polished, to an actress and singer capable of holding her own in a role as big as Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
