- While the scene in question is mostly horrifying, one can't help but admire five year old Rashel's determination and ingenuity in escaping the vampire. She refuses to be lured in like Timmy or hypnotized like her mother, fleeing to the top of a huge playground until she can't go any further. She then comes up with the idea of publically screaming that the vampire "tried to touch [me]", drawing attention to them and forcing the vampire to flee.
- Hugh attacking the two werewolves that killed his family, using only his sister's silver cross pendant and a makeshift torch made from from a stick and kerosene-soaked underpants. That it and of itself is pretty awesome, but the thing that makes it even more awesome is that Hugh was only seven years old at time.
