Awesome / Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II

• The opening scene, with a close-up of the metal head of the King Ghidorah cyborg from the last film, as officials approach and celebrate finally having a weapon to use against Godzilla.
• During the Godzilla Taskforce training exercises, Berger knocks out Kazuma with a few quick martial arts blows before he can get in a single hit, then backflips back to where everyone else is sitting.
• Rodan briefly knocking Godzilla on his back and repeatedly pecking his face during their fight. Then Godzilla grabs Rodan’s neck and throws him off.
• Everything about Mechagodzilla the first time it goes into battle. The mech flies across the sky with booster jets, then batters Godzilla with a mouth-installed laser that resembles Godzilla’s own atomic breath, laser eyes, a chest-mounted heat beam, and, as a final touch, Macross Missile Massacre and a giant taser-like device. It actually gets uncomfortable watching Godzilla take such a beating after a while, but rarely has an opponent of Godzilla made such an impressive first showing, and Godzilla only survives due to a mechanical malfunction.
• For all of his comic relief moments, Kazuma is the one to propose combining the Garuda ship with Mechagodzilla to make the mech even stronger than before.
• The first glimpse of a radiation-enhanced Rodan, who is temporarily glowing with power and displaying mild atomic breath of his own.
• The way Rodan’s shadow casts over a baseball stadium emphasizes his fearsome presence.
• Mechagodzilla firing at Godzilla with both its breath and its massive new shoulder canons in the climax.
• Super Mechagodzilla disabling Godzilla and had him pretty dead to rights only for Rodan to give the last of his life to Godzilla. Godzilla gets his own when his breath weapon becomes too powerful for Mechagodzilla to handle and it is finally defeated.
