Awesome / Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real

Go To

This is a program focused on showing how dragons might have been real. Of course it is going to have some Moments Of Awesome!

Moments pages are Spoilers Off, You Have Been Warned.

  • The very first scene shown involves a Prehistoric Dragon fight a Tyrannosaurus rex. At first, it looks like the rex might actually pull of a win against the dragon, which is roughly as large as the dinosaur. Then mama shows up, and things quckly turn in her favor.
    • Even though it ultimately loses the fight, though, the rex manages to get in a good hit of its own and crush the female dragon's left wing, which eventually kills her, as she isn't able to hunt properly with her injury.
  • The juvenile dragon above gets a moment of his own later when, while being chased by an older, hungrier dragon, he manages to take flight for the first time.
  • Several years later, the juvenile gets another one when he challenges a rival male for control of his territory. At first, the older male apparently succeeds in driving our dragon off, sending him retreating over a mountain. However, it turns out the younger male hid behind the mountain, which his opponent just flew over. With his opponent now far less maneuverable because the hydrogen he used to make the fire breath is also what allows him to fly, it only takes our dragon one good breath of fire to take him down and claim the territory and rival's mate as his own. A pity that the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction has to happen right after that.
  • The forest dragon gets its own moment when it goes up against a tiger. The tiger ended up scaring away the pigs that dragon was trying to sneak up on using its hydrogen gas to make it sound like a pig, so what does it do? Mimic an injured pig's cries, then kill the tiger when it pounces.
  • Humanity gets one a few minutes later when, after watching the dragon cook with a fire, it steals some of the flame using a torch and light the forest on fire, firmly emphasizing that Age of Man has begun.
  • The Mountain Dragons' courtship scene. It is absolutely spectacular. Also counts as a Heartwarming Moment.
  • The final battle between the female mountain dragon and the mercenaries. Even without being able to fly or breathe fire, the female manages to easily kill five of them, and only falls to the last one when she unwittingly impales herself on his raised spear. And she still manages to kill him .
