The musical:

  • Carl-Magnus tells his wife, Charlotte, that a man can take his wife having an affair, but if it's his mistress, he becomes a tiger. Near the end, Carl-Magnus catches Charlotte consoling Fredrik over something, mistakes it for an affair, and goes berserk.
Charlotte: "You became a tiger — for me!"
  • Fredrika's speech at the end of the musical. Madame Armfeldt asks her "what it's all for," and after a brief pause, Frederika argues that despite everything, love is always a risk that needs to be taken. It's so wise that Madame Armfeldt, a Deadpan Snarker throughout, is moved to tears.
Fredrika: Well...I think it must be worth it...it's all there is, isn't it? I know it's often discouraging, and to hope for something too much is childish...because what you want so rarely happens.
  • Henrik, who's been The Chew Toy throughout the show, finally speaking up for himself with a Big "SHUT UP!" and "Reason You Suck" Speech at Madame Armfeldt's mansion. He calls out nearly everyone for their shallowness and cruelty toward each other. Notably, this is one of the major catalysts in making the rest of the characters to do some soul-searching and start coming clean about their intentions, which in turn kicks off the plot's resolution.
  • "Send in the Clowns," one of Sondheim's all-time most famous songs even among people who've never even heard of the show.
