In the guidebook, they're classified as "meta-characters" and don't actually exist in-universe. They answered audience questions and provide worldbuilding elements in lieu of the actual author.

** La Colada d'El Cid is named after the Colada, the sword wielded by UsefulNotes/ElCidCampeador, a mercenary and warlord from Medieval Spain. It's believed he found alongside Christians and Muslims during his time, though he's mostly remembered as a Christian knight and a Spanish national hero.
