Takuto Hasegawa is an OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent, but his high school is of a different sort. The [[WizardingSchool Magician's Academy]], a place dedicated to training mages and mystical creatures of all sorts. It is ''insane''. During a summoning exam, Takuto accidentally summons an insanely powerful familiar in Tanarot, a girl with the mind of a child and enough power to destroy a country. Luckily, Tanarot is loyal to her creator/"husband".

''Macademi Wasshoi'' is very much a WidgetSeries. Only two of the cast, at best, [[OnlySaneMan notice]] how odd the workings of the world are. There are some serious moments, but for the most part it's off the wall comedy fueled by magic and fanboys.

Based on the ''Magician's Academy'' series of LightNovels and turned into a TwelveEpisodeAnime.
----
!!Tropes in ''Macademi Wasshoi'' include:

* AbsoluteCleavage: Falce's standard garb.
* AbuseIsOkayWhenItsFemaleOnMale: Takuto's female schoolmate, Futaba, who tends to hit her brother Hazuki, usually when he teases her about Takuto.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: Nipples do appear on women (and on Hapshiel), but genitalia do not (and, again, are unfortunately silhouetted in Hapshiel's case).
* AnythingThatMoves: '''''Hapshiel''''', to the point that they had to seal him away to get him to stop. However, as the last few episodes show, he genuinely is a caring and loving person... who is a rather huge, sweaty, kinky freakjob with no concept of personal space.
* AttractiveBentGender: Takuto makes a pretty good woman, to the amusement of his own harem...and Eitaro.
* BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil: Kept in check because there is an exactly ''equal'' number of Good and Evil supernaturals at all times, and always will be due to CreativeSterility. Tanarot could be either one, which would instantly break the balance. [[spoiler: During the Climax of Episode 10, the army of Angel/Devil Fetuses that Takuto summons causes the scale to ''[[OhCrap vibrate wildly]]''.]]
* BalloonBelly: Falce in Ep. 4.
* BeehiveBarrier: Metallis' Energy Shield, as well as Hapshiel's barrier.
* BerserkButton: Do not cheat at MoeMoe around Eitaro Sakuma!
** [[spoiler: Murdering the harem?]] '''BAD IDEA.'''
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Falce is a sentient magical staff, and fully aware of it. Her moral compass revolves around how useful she is to her owner.
* BodyPaint: Metallis' idea of a new school uniform -- effectively a layer of heavily engineered magical bodypaint. It's chrome colored and 100 percent {{Fanservice}}, especially since Suzuka is the one wearing it.
* CargoShip: Trincia (the local supercomputer AI) and... a Rocket. As in, a space ship. A completely ''normal'' space ship. Even for this series, this subplot came out of ''nowhere.''
* CerebusSyndrome: Episode 10 is when things start hitting the fan. The funny doesn't fully come back until the BonusEpisode.
* ChestBlaster: Metallis' transformation attempts a MazingerZ-style ChestBlaster. He runs out of power before executing it. Eitaro's Mega-Eneus, a HumongousMecha built resembling Eneus, does have Aphrodite's Breast Missiles however.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Suzuho, especially in blue-hair mode.
* ClothingDamage: Gabriel and Agaliarept have torn up sleeves and scarred arms after blocking a particularly powerful spell [[spoiler: mostly used to show just how stupidly powerful Takuto is, since the two are effectively the local God and Satan analogues.]]
* CreativeSterility: Demons and Angels are unable to create things of their own -- this includes procreation and any and all creative pursuits. This is one of the many, many reasons they're ''terrified'' of Tanarot -- she's effectively an artificial Angel/Demon and not bound by those rules, meaning she could upset the cosmic balance if she joins one side or the other. [[spoiler: Or rather, they're terrified of Takuto, who can create newborn Angels and Demons ''at will''.]]
** FridgeLogic: How can Sakuma write {{Doujinshi}} then? [[FridgeBrilliance Because it's all generic fanservice laden crap that requires no creativity whatsoever, of course!]] (The fact that his Doujinshi appears to be similar to Wasshoi is probably intentional.)
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: '''Sakuma''', the local {{Otaku}} AdultChild. Acts all moron all the time, but [[BerserkButton but mess up with his]] {{Moe}} [[SeriousBusiness items]] not even a God or Devil can help you because he'll kick their butt too.
** And if you mess with his friends, not even the [[spoiler:leader of heaven and the leader of hell -- ''at the same time'']] can save your ass.
** That's because he's [[spoiler: actually Samael aka "The Grim Reaper" aka "The Angel of Death", one of the very strongest of the gods.]]
* CuteBruiser: Tanarot. One of the strongest physical fighters in the series. Looks quite young, despite having an awesome bod.
* CuteMute: Suzuho's normal personality.
* TheChewToy: Metallis. Every episode, something bad is going to happen to him. At least until he's thrown a bone (see below). Then the role shifts to George.
** Synclavia and Miyabi are officially disavowed by their respective organizations after they're caught, leaving them officially rogue agents -- and Sakuma's slaves. He seals their powers, leaving them helpless, and then uses them as {{Doujinshi}} assistants, as well as maids / models for his various hobbies (aside from the obvious, considering how lascivious all three of them are). They still don't complain too much, other than the long working hours.
* {{Claymation}} CensorBox: It's as weird as it sounds.
** [[BetterOnDVD Thankfully that only exists in the TV version.]]
*** Arguable, it was pretty amusing way of handling it in it's own right.
* DancingTheme: The OP. Complete with dancing. With the shortest hot-pants ''ever.''
* DarkestHour: Yes, this GagSeries has one -- [[spoiler: The entire Alt!Takuto timeline. He is trapped in a pocket universe where he never discovered magic, which unfortunately means that Alt!Suzuko never discovered it, either -- and her split-soul condition is fatal without magical treatment. She dies, days after making it ''crystal'' clear how much she loves Alt!Takuto. One of the scenes around the EyeCatch implies that he was days away from suicide, which was the entire point of the pocket universe -- to get him to kill himself so that all his power would harmlessly go away, since outright attacking him doesn't work.]]
** But then... [[spoiler: someone, implied to be Sakuma or Alt!Sakuma, gives him a tiny ray of hope... It takes Alt!Takuto almost a century of school and work (the final project alone takes 40 ''years'' to complete, not counting previous failures and the prep time) but he eventually recreates Tanarot... Via ''science.'']]
* [[PettingZooPeople Dog Girl]] NinjaMaid: Eneus, one of the very few sane characters in the show.
** And later on, Dog Girl Ninja Maid HumongousMecha. With [[ChestBlaster breast missiles]].
* DroppedABridgetOnHim: On the viewer. That shapely body in the shower at the beginning of episode 2? Takuto.
* EmotionlessGirl: Trincia. The one time she expresses an emotion scares the hell out of Takuto and his harem.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Sakuma. Maybe [[SeriousBusiness it's his absurdity]], maybe it's the fact that he has a beautiful {{Meido}} voiced by AyakoKawasumi, maybe it's his [[BeyondTheImpossible MANLINESS]], but he is popular.
* {{Gainaxing}}
* GenkiGirl: Tanarot, and Eineus's "sister" .
* GoGoEnslavement: While Miyabi and Synclavia weren't very modest ''before'' Eitaro forced them into working for him, they're usually seen in some sort of fanboy fetish outfit afterward. Amusingly, Synclavia's fanboy fetish outfits are ''less'' risqué than her regular garb, which was basically BDSM gear crossed with a bikini.
* GoKartingWithBowser: Gabriel and Agaliarept, probably the two most powerful beings in the universe, both decidedly on the opposing side in the "divine balance", and both complete and utter {{Otaku}} who are never, ''ever'' seen apart.
** It's further implied that they're actually in a romantic relationship, as they were discovered to be ''secretly bathing alone together'' at a hot springs resort, and they were both extremely freaked-out when they were discovered, their reaction being as if they had been caught having an illicit affair (which would make sense, considering their respective positions as official representatives of opposing factions).
*** They even have special pet-names for each other: "Gabu-yan" and "Aga-rin".
* GrillingTheNewbie: Happens to [[{{Cute Bruiser}} Tanarotte]] and [[{{Cute Mute}} Suzuho]] when they join Takuto's regular school... especially after seeing how they act with Takuto. Of course, none of Suzuho's questions got answered.
-->'''Classmate:''' [[{{Foreign Fanservice}} "An exchange student?"]]
-->'''Tanarotte:''' [[{{Cannot Keep A Secret}} "That's what Takuto told me to say."]]
* HadakaApron: Falce wears it when the normal high school students come over to visit. It's also mentioned in passing as one of the possible new uniforms during the competition, but not seen.
* HeroicBSOD: After [[spoiler:Tanarot is impaled]] and his subsequent [[HeroicRROD freak-out]], Takuto is forcibly contained in a magical supercomputer as they attempt to find the proper Quantum-Magic spell to [[RetGone rewrite history so he never discovers magic]]. The latest iteration we see contains, amongst other things, a dark blue haired Suzuho talking without her sketchpad. Unfortunately, because her finding magic was dependent on Takuto finding magic, this Suzuho is [[spoiler: the LittlestCancerPatient]] and [[spoiler: she does ''not'' get better.]] [[spoiler: Alt!Suzuho dying]] sends Alt!Takuto right past the DespairEventHorizon, as well. His harem, led by Eitaro, take a JourneyToTheCenterOfTheMind to free him.
** It's implied that [[spoiler: Alt!Eitaro (or perhaps just Eitaro, it's unclear if he's free by that point or not)]] gives him inspiration to [[spoiler: create Tanarot anyway]], this time using [[spoiler: high technology, after [[TheSlowPath 40 years]] of research.]]
* HeroInsurance: In the form of dwarves who quickly repair all the buildings which get destroyed.
* HeyItsThatVoice: Would you believe that Takuto's voice once belonged to [[CodeGeass Kozuki Kallen]] and [[SchoolRumble Tsukamoto Tenma]] and [[MaiOtome Nina Wang?]]
* HotSpringsEpisode: A mixed bath, at that.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler: The QuirkyMinibossSquad leader, showing she's NotSoHarmless.]]
* InnocentCohabitation: Tanarot, Falce and Suzuho all live with Takuto. He's a ChasteHero.
** Well, not by choice, at least. It's stated that nothing has happened yet because Takuto doesn't want to choose between any of the girls (implied TenchiSolution), and Suzaho and Tanarot are perpetually locked in stalemate over who get's to go first with Takuto. Falce, meanwhile, is content to be the last, after the other have already had their turns, which hasn't happened yet.
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Falce and Tanarot -- both wear clothing (for certain definitions of the term), but neither are in any way bothered by nudity.
* InSpiteOfANail: [[spoiler: Magic or Science, either way, Takuto finds a way to create Tanarot and thus endanger the balance between Heaven and Hell.]] It's suggested that YouCantFightFate in this regard, and it's better just to make sure the situation stays stable.
* InstantRunes: Most notably whenever Takuto creates something.
* IntimateHealing: Miyabi is an aggressive practitioner.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Metallis towards Suzuho when she unconsciously mentions Takuto's name while Metallis is trying to save her. He seems to get over it as soon as the episode ends however, when she gives him a gift for saving her, however, his attempts to woo her largely fall to the wayside after his [[ADayInTheLimeLight episode.]]
* KarmaHoudini: ''No one'' really suffers any long term consequences of their actions, save Synclavia and Miyabi (beacuse they're TheChewToy). Even the two teachers who [[spoiler: were trying to RetGone Takuto and Suzuho]] get away without any complaints, because it's insinuated ''they weren't entirely in the wrong.''
* KissingCousins: Suzuho is Takuto's cousin, and this is distant enough to make her a viable haremette.
* LargeHam: Sakuma, especially when he brings out the large robot maid, and in the last episode when he forces Takuto to help him finish his manga.
* LesYay: Suzuho, with both Falce and Miyabi
* MachoCamp: Hapshiel the Angel, so very much. Which probably made episode five messed up even by this show's standards.
* MechaMooks: The army of golems present at the Academy.
* MediumBlending: Claymation {{Censor Box}}es, as well as {{Eye Catch}}es.
* {{Meido}}: Miyabi and Synclavia.
* {{Meganekko}}: Suzuho
* {{Miko}}: Miyabi
* MoeAnthropomorphism: One of Falce's powers is to turn items into living spirits, mainly because she ''is'' a living spirit of an item -- an absurdly powerful magic staff.
* MoeMoe: A guiding force of the universe, which is studied ''in depth'' by the school.
* MoodWhiplash: Episode 10. QuirkyMinibossSquad happens upon hero and his harem in their home base, which they mistakenly thought was vacant. So they seal them away to get some privacy. School finds out, and everyone uses it as an excuse to test out their {{Otaku}} themed "research" on the squad -- mostly various ways to implant {{Moe}} into them. So far, so good, typical Wasshoi madness. [[spoiler: QuirkyMinibossSquad turns out to be NotSoHarmless, horrifically ''[[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice murders]]'' Tanarot and the rest of the harem, prompting Takuto to [[HeroicRROD freak right the hell on out]] and instantly bring upon TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt via an army of screaming "neutral" angel/demon ''fetuses''.]] [[NightmareFuel What the hell?]]
* NewTransferStudent: Tanarot and Suzuho both transfer to Takuto's (non-magical) school. Tanarot under the name of "Tanarot Uncertain". This is never brought up again after the episode it happens in.
* NightmareFuel: Episode 10, [[spoiler:the "neutral", screaming, [[EldritchAbomination fleshy fetus-like god beings]] Takuto created after he believed that Tanarot, Falce, and Suzuho were all dead.]]
** A quick, blink and you'll miss it one at the start of Episode 11. [[spoiler: The episode title byline is inverted [[BlackSpeech and black with a red outline.]] This is because this episode starts in the AlternateUniverse.]]
* NightmareFuelUnleaded: Hapshiel, both in universe and out. The ''entire school'' stops what they're doing to try to beat him up, which doesn't do anything but ''arouse him.''
* NoblewomansLaugh: Miyabi, after IntimateHealing Suzuho.
* NobuyukiHiyama: Professor Franklamb Stein. It's...strange hearing the King of Braves rant about [[MoeMoe Moe]].
* NotSoHarmless: The QuirkyMinibossSquad of Episode 10. [[spoiler: Sakuma Eitaro as well, when he reveals that he's ''not'' human, and is infact Samael, who is on par if not higher up the totem pole, power wise, than God and Lucifer.]]
** Nominally ''all'' the cast could be considered this, since they all act like ditzy {{Otaku}} but are, in fact, wizards of varying power and species. [[spoiler: Takuto probably trumps them all.]]
* OhCrap: Gabriel and Agaliarept when they realize just who [[spoiler: [=SAkuMA EitaRO=] aka Samaero aka [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samael Samael]]]] is. Most people would probably know him under [[GrimReaper a different name]] -- he is on an entire different plateau of power than the rest of the cast, combined. [[spoiler: Save, possibly, Takuto.]]
** The dwarves at the end of episode 12, who are confident that the new school, Avalon, is built to withstand the fights between Suzuho and Tanarotte. Then they realize that they forgot to put the large screw in...
* {{Otaku}}: Eitaro, who's a professor, a high ranked mage, a mad scientist, and an otaku. Which is a dangerous combination. Also Professor Stein and Agaliarept / Gabriel.
** It's implied that a ''lot'' of Demons and Angels become {{Otaku}} as well as other fanboys, because of CreativeSterility.
* OutWithABang: [[spoiler: Alt!Suzuho and Alt!Suzuka. Originally Alt!Takuto thought Alt!Suzuka was just tormenting him, but Alt!Suzuho ''[[{{Tearjerker}} begs]]'' him to go through with it after she regains control. It's never made clear if they did or didn't, and she dies off-screen immediately afterwards.]]
* PaidHarem: Eitarou starts out with Eneus, and acquires Synclavia and Miyabi. He doesn't ''pay'' them, per se; Eneus is bound by contract as a summoned being, and Synclavia and Miyabi are, er, slaves.
* PairTheSpares: [[spoiler:George/Hapshiel. Really.]]
* PetTheDog: ''Hapshiel'' of all people. He actually becomes Georges' mentor in the epilogue after George has his heart broken. Instead of the male-MarshmallowHell one expects, he actually comes across as a genuinely caring sort. He still gets George to start dressing up like him, though.
* PettingZooPeople: The Mimiger Z, a gun that gives everyone ears, and, once Eitaro gets done tinkering with it, paws and a tail. [[UFOUltramaidenValkyrie Does this ring any bells]]?
* PowerFist: Tanarot's weapon of choice. Since they were designed by the staff at the school... they're cat paws.
* PowerLevels: Tanarot's readings are off the charts, in a fashion similar to ''DragonBall'' -- that is, her power level is over 9000.
** Eitaro even uses a DBZ-like scouter in the first episode, which promptly explodes when reading Tanarot's power level, just after showing it at 100,000.
*** Subverted in that [[spoiler: Tanarot is just a ''tiny'' fragment of Takuto's power, which is strong enough to [[ApocalypseHow destroy the balance between the Angels and Demons]] if left unchecked.]]
* ProudToBeAGeek: Magician's Academy is ''run'' by the geeks. Which probably explains a thing or two about the school.
** Especially evident in Eitarou and Professor Stein.
* PsychicPowers: As it turns out, both magic and ESP exist in this universe (not the only [[ToaruMajutsuNoIndex show]] in the fall '08 anime season to do that). This is discovered when Suzuho's magic cancel doesn't work on ESP powers.
* RobotMaid: GiantMecha [[RobotMaid Maid]], actually, in the form of Eitaro's Mega-Eneus. Complete with Aphrodite-style [[ChestBlaster Oppai Missiles.]]
* PuniPlush
* RetGone: The final solution for dealing with [[spoiler: Takuto]] after his breakdown. FridgeHorror when you realize in the alternate universe [[spoiler: he was going under [[DespairEventHorizon severe]] depression -- the proposed solution appears to have been to find a way to modify the past so he would ''kill himself'' before creating Tanarot.]]
* RPGEpisode: Complete with little sprites for the characters.
* SavingChristmas: As only ''Macademi'' could do, the Christmas episode involves a ChainOfDeals, harem infighting in skimpy outfits, LivingToys and a high speed destructive car chase.
* SchmuckBait: When Eineus's "sister" shows up in episode 9 and vows to defeat Eitarou Sakuma and bring Eineus home, Sakuma lies and tells her that Hapsiel is Sakuma, and that she should defeat him. Each time she comes back, she gradually grows more and more purplish and weaker, and at the end can barely walk out of the room as Sakuma continues goading her.
* SeriousBusiness: Magician's Academy, the only place in the world that puts most of its students through a DeathCourse to decide the next school uniform. [[spoiler: The guy who won the last 2 times cheats and wins again.]]
* ShapeShifting: Falce can change between all kinds of (generally stick-like) forms. Size is also free game, too -- She appears as a pencil in a few episodes, shrinks to around 3 inches tall in another so she can get more enjoyment out of a can of soda, etc etc. Her natural forms are of a cute horned girl, and a magic staff that looks like it belongs in ''PhantasyStarOnline''.
* ShoutOut: Lots of them, scattered throughout each episode with some hilarious ones to NeonGenesisEvangelion in episode 5, and the ending sequence to that same episode was a shout out to the opening theme of RoseOfVersailles [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVxuE3tXkPA I'm not kidding]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iZpSWya2Kc seriously]].
* SlasherSmile: Synclavia and Miyabi were '''very''' happy to get some help working on the {{Doujinshi}}.
* TheSlowPath: [[spoiler: Alt!Takuto]] spends 40 years researching what appears to be biological engineering to [[spoiler:recreate Tanarot in the universe he gets stuck in without magic.]]
* SplitPersonality: Suzuka, Suzuho's other side, known as the Midnight Blue Vampire. Her very appearance [[AntiMagic cancels all magic in the area]].
* {{Stripperific}}: Tanarot's standard outfit barely qualifies as pants, and Falce's always wearing an open robe that exposes her panties and her entire cleavage.
* StalkerWithACrush: Metallis to George and later, Suzuka. Fermi to Agarept.
* [[SuicideByCop Suicide By Hero]]: Falche, whose creator died before giving her a name or a purpose in life. She just wants a reason to live, and since she can't find one, she decides to borrow one from the manga she had nearby: a Demon Lord's purpose -- namely, dying to the hero in a fantastic final battle. [[spoiler: She gets better, and decides to support Takuto as her purpose in life.]]
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Overlaps with Superpowered Good Side, since [[spoiler: Sakuma]] is undoubtedly a good guy, but his real identity as the [[spoiler: The King of Poison, Samael]] clearly proves he is not the kind of person you would want to mess with even if you're [[spoiler: God's Left Hand, Gabriel or {{Satan}}'s Right Hand, Agaliarept]] themselves, something they [[TheWorfEffect discover rather quickly.]]
--> [[spoiler: Sakuma]]: [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome If you want to stop me, you should at least bring that Lucifer bastard here!]]
** Do ''not'' make [[spoiler: Takuto]] upset. [[HighOctaneNightmareFuel Just don't.]]
* SurrealThemeTune: The OP goes right into insanity mode and barely makes sense.
* TakingTheBullet: [[spoiler: Tanarot to Takuto. [[IGotBetter She got better]], but not in time for Takuto to find out before his [[HeroicRROD epic freakout.]]]]
* TalkingWithSigns: Suzuho, most of the time.
* ThePowerOfLove: Metallis' backup power source. Alongside a car battery. ... Mostly the car battery.
** [[spoiler: Also what allows Tanarot to save Takuto, and the both of them to return to reality afterwards.]]
* ThrowTheDogABone: Metallis, the previously-mentioned Chew Toy, gets a chance to shine when he falls in love with Suzuka, and ends up saving the day in spectacular fashion. Whatever the universe had against Metallis transfers onto George.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Futaba and Hazuki, Takuto's two friends in the outside world.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Hapshiel, big time. On the other hand, the only reason he stayed bound for 20 years was his perversity. Also, Agarept's lovesick maid Fermi, who ''lives'' for her master to punish her with his lightning bolts.
* [[TooSpicyForYogSothoth Too Kinky for Gabriel]]: Hapshiel. When Trincia suggests that Gabriel take him back to Heaven, she acts like she doesn't see him. There is no possible way she couldn't see him.
* TorpedoTits: Mega-Eneus has them, as an [[MazingerZ Aphrodite A]] parody.
* {{Tsundere}}: Lampshaded. A pair of magically enchanted bunny-ears cause whomever's wearing them to act Tsundere no matter what.
* TwoTeacherSchool: Or two and a half. Professor Stein and Professor Sagami are the only teachers we see. Sakuma seems to be an associate professor but he doesn't teach any classes.
* UnwantedHarem: Takuto has Tanarot, Suzuho and Falce. Since Eitarou actually ''wants'' his, it's more of a PaidHarem.
* WhamEpisode: Episode 10. Or more specifically, the last 5 minutes of Episode 10.
* WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises: Multiple times, especially when people notice Hapshiel for the first time. [[spoiler: [[NightmareFuel Not funny at all]] when Takuto does it at the end of Episode 10.]]
* WidgetSeries: Wooooo, boy.
* WizardingSchool: Apparently of the {{Discworld}}, "Keep them busy so they can't do any harm" variety.
* VerbalTic: Tanarot, ending all her sentences with "-nano de aru". Suzuho is told to use "-puru" but it doesn't really take.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: George spends the first few episodes freaking out because Metallis keeps coming ''thiiiiiss'' close to confessing to him... and then the rest of the series ''trying to win him back.''
* ZettaiRyouiki

* {{Gainaxing}}
* GenkiGirl: Tanarot, and Eineus's "sister" .
-->'''Classmate:''' [[{{Foreign Fanservice}} "An exchange student?"]]
-->'''Tanarotte:''' [[{{Cannot Keep A Secret}} "That's what Takuto told me to say."]]
* MediumBlending: Claymation {{Censor Box}}es, as well as {{Eye Catch}}es.
* {{Meido}}: Miyabi and Synclavia.
* {{Meganekko}}: Suzuho
* {{Miko}}: Miyabi
* PairTheSpares: [[spoiler:George/Hapshiel. Really.]]
* PuniPlush
* WidgetSeries: Wooooo, boy.
