Ain't no Hala-back girl

After leaving the cave, Ilima opens the gateway to the rest of the island dramatically and Kukui arrives to show off how to full body tackle a Growlithe with a Z-Move.

Honestly, he should've had Rockruff test the move on himself. It'd be in-character for him.

Anyway, Lillie is missing. Whenever Lillie is missing, everyone onscreen should be asking "Where's Lillie?" So we have to go look for her.

Nermal is also boxed since it's no longer night and I need some a Ground-type to deal with the various Electric Pokemon I keep running into!

Team: Carrera/Magnemite (-), Sam/Trumbeak (F), Willow/Diglett (F), Tink/Cutiefly (F), Hocus/Alakazam (M), Soprano/Brionne (M)

The team is coming together! Now, if only Hocus knew moves aside from Teleport and Kinesis...

In the process of looking for Lillie, Sugar Ray/Crabrawler (M) and McAlister/Delibird (M) are caught.

Upon finding a nearby sign about Oricorio, Luna decides to explore the meadow the sign leads to, bumping into Lillie by complete accident due to forgetting she was looking for her just as planned.

It seems Cosmog has run away. Again.

Wonderful.

In the process of saving Cosmog from death by Spearow again, Kate/Caterpie (F), Gin/Cottonee (M), and Tweety/Oricorio [Pom-Pom] (M) are caught.

Luna also takes the time to talk to a boyfriend/girlfriend couple, the latter of which seems to like running away to get her boyfriend to pay attention to her.

After talking to Nebby, Luna is teleported back to the exit of the area instead of getting to explore past where it was. Annoying!

But it's okay, because Lillie heals our Pokemon right before our rival comes along to battle. That's a fine Hau-dy do!

Willow takes care of both of his Pokemon after a Work Up/Mud-Slap combo. Fortunately, Hau doesn't realize that using Ember with his Litten instead of Lick would be a better use of his time.

After continuing on down Route 3 and beating the other trainers, an Ace Trainer challenges Luna with a Red Card/Stealth Rock combo. Impressive for the early game.

Too bad she Red Carded Carrera out onto the battlefield. Awkward!

Luna receives her own Red Card in the process and then heads back to Iki Town. Kukui and Lillie say the usual "WOW YOU'RE SO AMAZING" stuff, and then it's time to battle Hala.

Despite being the kahuna, Hala isn't so tough. Mainly because he spends the whole fight using Sand Attack and Leer. This is one of the strongest Alolan Trainers?

Tink takes care of Mankey and Makuhita with no trouble due to Draining Kiss, and then Soprano mops up Crabrawler.

Tapu Koko voices his approval and Luna earns another funky dance move... that I only just now realize I haven't been using.

Ah well.

After learning how to punch a man in the gabber, Luna also receives a Ride Pager and a free Tauros. Hau seems excited about it for some reason, even though he said he never wanted to ride a Tauros.

How silly.

Ilima also shows up and even comments on the fact that I didn't use any Z-Moves in battle. That's neat.

Kukui also gives Luna a TM for False Swipe. Wheee.

Afterwards, Lillie says she's coming along because she has more precious screentime to steal wants to help Nebby get home. So... I guess Island Challenges are optional?

Thanks for breaking the system, Lillie!

Well, either way, time to go look around the island for treasure. And a Rockruff.

After a capturing two Rockruffs (F) named Rochelle and Lithops, Goro/Machop (M), and Jewel/Carbink (-), obtaining the TM for Infestation, talking to Mom, and doing a little more leveling, Luna heads to the Marina and sets off with her friends.

Along the way, Hau tries to encourage Prof. Kukui to speed up, but Lillie mugs for more screen time, prompting Hau to tell her that her hat looks silly.

Take that, Lillie.
