Ribbon Warrior Chapter 5: Divided They Fall

While trying to sell Centipede Team-related goods, Rin and Shizuka discuss BC Freedom. Yukari's infiltration of Saunders comes up and Shizuka decides to do the same to BC Freedom.

Shizuka arrives at a match with BC Freedom and another school; BC Freedom appears to be on the verge of victory, but a large portion of their forces have not been committed, as Asparagus doesn't trust the "BC" side's forces "politically." Pepperoni and Anchovy are also there, setting up a stall, and noticing Shizuka is here for recon, they discuss how Tankathlon is gaining popularity, and grabbing the attention of top-ranking schools. Pepperoni adds that Anzio's tanks are better suited to tankathlon, much to Anchovy's annoyance.

Anchovy says that the two schools- "BC Academy" and "Freedom Academy" were once separate, but were united against their will. They keep their distance from each other, have different styles of tankery, and the Freedom side, in charge of the team, treats the BC side poorly. It's hard to see what the BC side did to deserve this treatment, so Asparagus and the Freedom side come off as quite cruel for no good reason.

Some BC side personnel arrive at the stall, complaining about not getting to do anything, and ordering grape juice for adults. Shizuka then enters infiltration mode and becomes unusually sociable, proposing a toast to the BC side. Asparagus then shows up, demanding that the BC tankers cease associating with people outside the school and threatening them with punishment. Anchovy tries to defuse the situation, but Asparagus will have none of it.

Shizuka walks up to Asparagus and asks what tankathlon means to her. Asparagus describes it as a hunting ground for others, particularly those overly used to tankery, a somewhat sadistic motivation for getting involved in it. She then recalls how Alisa had a difficult time against Centipede Team in spite of using tanks from her school, but how Centipede Team will be a pushover against BC Freedom. Shizuka then wishes Asparagus the best.

The day of the match comes, and Asparagus's expression at realizing that she's face to face with the girl she spoke with before is priceless. Both sides are confident in their victory, except for Rin, who asks Shizuka what they will do to counter the enemy's advantage in numbers. Shizuka then plans to use deception to her advantage

All in all, it was interesting to see more about a school that wasn't shown in canon, although Asparagus is so far entirely unlikable.
