The next morning Geo pulls a Lan and has to be prodded out of bed by his mother. Geo realizes that it's the day of the election at last so he can't afford to be late, and we quickly switch back to Team Luna 4 Prez. Luna and the other three candidates are in the school's front foyer greeting people and we're told to go round up Bud and Zack for a pre-election meeting on the school roof. When we get to our class Geo sees, much to his surprise, Sonia there with the rest of his friends. Oh, and she's not the only oddity here either: Solo's lounging around too. Geo takes this to mean that Jack is going to attack the school and sure enough Solo eventually comments that “he's here.”

The scene shifts to the roof where the assembled student body and faculty members are listening to the candidates' final campaign speeches. Luna's wondering where the rest of her Team is when it's her turn to step up to the podium, but before she's even halfway into her speech's introduction Jack Corvus appears in the air. Everyone wonders who he is and when Corvus observes that Megaman's not here his partner decides to draw him out by attacking the crowd. Luna recognizes him from the beach and the sight of her alive causes Jack Corvus some pause until Corvus eggs him on. He's about to throw a bunch of his purple fireballs at the students when Damian comes to the rescue in his wave form and lets Geo and the others know what's going on over the PA system.

Back in the classroom the doors are locked thanks to the Noise that our corvid friend brought with him so Solo decides on a more direct route to the Wave Station on the first floor by smashing a giant hole in the floor with Laplace's sword form. Omega says that perhaps Geo could learn something from him and the three commandos Wave Change and drop down into the teacher's room below and out into the hallway through another hole in the wall. The Noise quickly becomes too dense for Sonia or Bud to proceed, so it's up to us and Rogue to get to the roof.

Blocking off the wave road are Noise tears, and once inside Geo and Rogue are confronted by a giant mass of Noise in the shape of a specter (they look similar to those three-eyed purple dark power flames from Battle Network 5). Here, wonder of wonders, Rogue asks Geo for his assistance in deleting the specters and clearing the path. This entails a minigame where the specters will spit out a bunch of Noise clumps that'll amble around in front of it before exploding. We have to destroy these with our Mega Buster (a targeting reticule appears on the field that we can move around, and shots are fired with either A or B) and once we do Rogue will slash the specter a few times with his sword to deplete some of its HP bar. Each time the Noise explodes is a miss, and after each miss means we have to start the wave again (there are three per specter) and getting three misses makes us have to start all over.

Once all the Noise Holes are gone as soon as we reach the teleporter that leads to the roof's wave road a scene starts up where Omega says that Geo has to be 100% ready to fight Jack and Geo says that he still wants to try talking him down first. Rogue calls him naïve and declares that he'll be the one to beat Jack. So he attacks us, because he's a dick and fighting us worked so well for him back in Echo Ridge, Whazzap, the Bermuda Maze, and that probably-not-canon scene at the Whazzap Ruins...

Rogue

HP: 1000

Element: Normal

Attacks:

  • Rogue Arts – Rogue attacks Geo with a series of punches and ends with a flipkick that deals 10 damage per hit.
  • Rogue Knuckle – Rogue randomly fires a volley of energy fists down the field that inflict confusion and deal 40 damage per hit.
  • Laplace Slash – Rogue slashes a 3 x 2 area with his sword, unleashing a multi-hitting sword slash for a total of 50 damage.

Rogue's still full of shit it seems. He has his sword from the start this time, but he's a total pushover. It's not until later forms that he regains the tricks and difficulty he had previously.

Winning gives us the Rogue card which has him use Rogue Arts on the nearest enemy.

After the curbstomping Geo says that Rogue's right, Jack probably won't listen to him but he's not going to give up even so. Rogue says he's changed his mind and claims that Jack will listen to him and that they will become close friends...only that one day he'll still betray him. Huh, what's that? Is that a backstory segue I spy? Will Solo's misanthropic ways be expanded upon beyond “I got beat up by gangs”? Nope, for Rogue just pulses out without another word and the game never brings that up again! Anyway, we've got another rival to confront.

A new scene automatically kicks up when we step into the teleporter showing Geo and Damian tagging off. Omega assures Wolf that he'll kick Corvus's butt this time and Jack Corvus responds by saying that there won't be enough of us left after he's done to collect any data this time. As he promised, Geo tries to talk his opponent down, asking if the fun times they had and memories they made on the trip (come to think of it that Purpose was never fulfilled, was it?) were all just lies, and Jack Corvus is about as sick of hearing that kind of thing as Solo does. Geo says that doesn't matter, he'll always count him as a friend. Bud and Sonia arrive to back him up on that, and the kid flips out, yelling at them to just shut up. Geo says that he's going to stop him because he's his friend, and the battle begins.

Jack Corvus

HP: 1400

Element: Fire

Attacks:

  • Grave Claw – Flaming claws fly down each column for 50 Fire damage.
  • Corvus Wing – Jack Corvus appears in front of Geo and repeatedly slashes him with his wings, dealing 60 Fire damage and inflicting an HP drain bug.
  • Crow's Flight – Jack Corvus swoops down a diagonal section of field for 90 Fire damage.
  • Wicked Flame – Jack Corvus throws a barrage of purple fireballs at Geo that deal 60 Fire damage per hit and crack panels.

Now we fight him for real this time. Jack Corvus has three things going for him: first of all, he's pretty mobile, second of all Grave Claw has the very annoying property of tanking attacks meant for him (they're destructible), and lastly Wicked Flame can crack panels, something I forgot he could do, which easily sets Geo up for an unblockable Crow's Flight. So the two things I highly recommend doing in this battle is to shrink the field as much as possible (not difficult as Normal cards practically fall from the sky like manna) and equip the Air Shoes ability, which was inside a PMW in the Echo Ridge-WBG Studios Noise Wave. Do those things and you'll have a much easier time with him. Queen Virgo's card works very well, for maximum irony.

Winning gives us 3000z.

Jack Corvus falls out of the sky upon defeat and mutters that his and Tia's wish hasn't come true yet before losing consciousness. Sonia and Bud congratulate Geo on his victory and the camera pans to show Joker standing on the rooftop greenhouse (how do they miss him, he's like eight feet tall?!) reporting Jack's defeat to King. King's response? Basically screw Jack, leave him to his fate, and get back to Dealer HQ to discuss strategy.

Presumably Ace placed Jack under arrest because one fade-out later he's standing with the rest of the reassembled school as the delayed election resumes and the new president is announced. Of course Luna wins, and she gives a speech about how the whole school should form one giant Team with the Purpose of making Echo Elementary the best it can possibly be. After the festivities Bud calls out his teammates to confess that he wants to leave the commandos. He says that while it's cool to fight for world peace, it's just not a role that he's comfortable with, and that he'd rather keep Luna and Zack safe. Ace speaks up to make that Bud's official mission, telling him that he's a shining example of how a Satella Police officer should act. So what could have been a more somber scene instead turns out to be uplifting and heroic. Team Luna 4 Prez's Purpose is finally fulfilled.

At Dealer HQ, King announces to his two remaining members that for the final stage of their plan they need an immense amount of Crimson to be able to fully control Meteor G. Heartless asks if he plans on rescuing Jack and Tia since they were in charge of collecting the stuff but Joker speaks up, saying that there's no need for he has an idea.

Soundtrack
  • Rivals Unite
    • This heroic track comes from Solo of all people. Go figure.

We're at what, somewhere between 50% to 80% completion of the main story (ignoring postgame and any pre-postgame sidequests)?

From what I remember there's about two more scenarios before the endgame, so I'd say about 70%. Somehow I've already managed to rack up twenty-six hours of playtime.
