Chapter 38: An Old Acquaintance
The one-eyed man is Uno, who has been traveling with Masema as he acts as Rand’s prophet. But Uno has grown disillusioned with it, seeing Masema as being just as bad as the Whitecloaks, and only getting people killed. He’s now in town at Samara, and Uno tells Nynaeve she won’t be safe and should wait, but that just gets Nynaeve to go there faster.
Yeah, someone from the first couple books who I’d forgotten. And it does make perfect sense that he’d be here, without it seeming too much like a Contrived Coincidence. This is mainly another setup chapter, though more intriguing than most just from bringing these guys back.

Huh. When I got to this point in the series, I did consider it contrived. It just didn't make sense to me that they were there.
