Before we get into the actual LP, I'm gonna lay out the stuff for our character.
So, Breton has, surprisingly, won out. Bretons hail from High Rock, the land of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. The TES wiki has this to say of Bretons:
Bretons are humans of both human and elven ancestry. They populate the province of High Rock. They are excellent mages with high magic resistance but have few other distinctive features. They are considered an intelligent race in Tamriel, known for a proficiency in abstract thinking, a possible reason for their adeptness in the magical arts. It is suggested that they may also carry Aldmer blood, accounting for their magical prowess.
Bretons are a small minority of the Skyrim population, except in the Reach, where they are in fact the native population. The Forsworn are actually Breton rebels.
Culture-wise, they are made to resemble both the actual Bretons from Brittany, a French duchy near Normandy, and as of Skyrim have also begun to bear similarities to traditional Welsh, Scottish and Celtic peoples.
High Rock is stated to be full of court intrigue and backstabbing, but not much is elaborated on. So, I will assume that it resembles in some way A Song Of Ice And Fire what with the medieval backstabbing and diplomacy. For extra fun, I'll throw in some drow-esque betrayal and familial warfare.
I threw together some Celtic/Welsh naming traditions and came up with this: Carogwyn ap Tyr, which is really Carogwyn of the house/bloodline of Tyr. We'll go with that. The first assumption Hadvar makes when he finds out you're a Breton is that you're fleeing court intrigue, so let's have that as our basic backstory. I'll make that up as we go along.

Starting spells:
- Conjure Familiar (Conjuration)
- Flames (Destruction)
- Healing (Restoration)
Special abilities:
- Dragonskin : Absorb 50% of magicka from hostile spells for 60 seconds.
- Magic Resistance : Breton blood grants a 25% resistance to magic. Note: In the loading screen trivia, it says the Bretons have a 50% magic resistance. 25% is the correct level.
These are some pretty sweet abilities, if I may say so. Nothing as drastic as the Dark Elves' Resist Fire and Ancestor's Wrath, but better base stats(for magic that is) and starting spells. The base stats aren't as good as, say, the Khajiit or the Orcs, but they are good. Overall, this is a very solid, magic oriented race. Not as specialized as High Elves, but still leaning that way. The special abilities are really nice, I'll need to check if they apply to dragon breath(I don't think they do).
I'll be going mostly sword and spell, but I may mix it up with a bit of double spells if needed.
