Part Twelve: Friendzoned by God!

One last recap: Walpurgisnacht arrives and kicks Homura's ass and now Madoka's reached her. Let's finish this.

Kyubey tells her that he can grant any wish, regardless of how ridiculous it is. Kyubey... Bad idea man... Because she wishes to become God. OF THE NEW WORLD! That or by the wording of her wish, The Terminator for Witches. You gotta love the Oh, Crap! look on Kyubey's face. It's better than the actual Anime. This, my friend, is a Crowning Moment Of Awesome. Hey, you'd said that you can grant any wish. You said that she could become a God... Now it bites you in the ass. Oh, and for a sweet bonus, he's forced into making the contract as opposed to her being forced to make the contract...

...and then Mami calls her out for that wish. Wait, what? And Kyouko joins in and agrees with Madoka? Wait... What the fuck is going on? Then Mami gives Madoka that art book back? How does that work? Then Mami names the Becoming Hope trope.

Now Madoka's a god. Well, we're boned. She uses a Macross Missile Massacre on the entire world, OHKOing every single Witch. And then she goes on a triade about bearing the burdens of the despair. All the more reason to make fun of the fact that the Anime Finale aired near Easter.

Then someone (Kyubey?) talks about how Madoka will cease to exist. Oh, and Kriemhild Gretchen arrives. All I have to say about her is Game-Breaker. Oh, and that it looks like a giant Cookie Monster. Madoka seemed to graduate from the Milo school of solving problems and logic bombs the Witch. Now it's time for naked space hugs! Madoka apologized for not realizing that Homura has been her friend for so long. Gee, I wonder why she didn't... And OH! Friendzoned by God! After being a jerk to people that she could have had more help from had she befriended them, the one goal in Homura's life, Madoka, leaves and never returns, making her utterly crushed that she failed her goal. Despite Homura being a likable person and a good guy, this, in my opinion, is Laser-Guided Karma for her acting like a jerk, whether or not it was a facade.

We then see Kyousuke. Again, since he didn't appear since he was with Hitomi and due to the art, I mistook the scene when Sayaka was fighting Bartels and I assumed she actually did kill Kyousuke and Hitomi in that timeline. Wow, we are just filled with Laser-Guided Karma. (I thought) Hitomi got killed by Sayaka (but didn't), Kyubey got screwed over by Madoka, and Homura fails her goal because she tried to alienate herself from the others. Back to Kyousuke, he plays his violin as Madoka offers Sayaka a chance to get out of the contract. Does she do this with everyone or just her? Anyways, Sayaka refuses and even accepts Hitomi's unexpected love for Kyousuke. Oh, and he notices Sayaka. A little too late, Kyousuke, now you will miss her for the rest of your life. So... another Laser-Guided Karma? Wow, the author of the manga doesn't fuck around.

So anyways, Mami and Kyouko exposit that Madoka, er, the "Law of the Circle" (Screw it, I'll just call it the Circle of Life) takes away Puella Magi before they become Witches. Not leaving behind any bodies. Yeah, good luck on keeping her disappear a secret to her parents, who must be worried sick for her. Oh, and they don't know who Madoka is. But Madoka's little brother does. For some reason. Then Yuk- I mean Junko, barely remembers Madoka. Then Homura talks to Kyubey (whose lines will now be read as Al) who thinks that the theory of Witches would be a wonderful idea. Oh and he pulls off a silly face that reminds me of Puck again. Seriously, Kyubey, slap Homura like how Puck slapped Guts. And then these demons appear... Homura explains that it's dimensional distortions that are attacking in the form of monsters so... It's all Decade's fault? Then Homura sprouts wings.

KAMEN RIDE: DIEND!

Wait... there's more... apparently? Okay... It seems that Madoka took Homura to be with her forever? Uh... is this even a happy ending for Homura? I guess so, after all the shit she had to do, she does get rewarded pretty well. But, somehow I think this is something bigger. Imagine, being with someone you like forever... Positive And I Must Scream, much?

And that ends Puella Magi Madoka Magica in it's Manga form. What do I think of it? Eh, pretty alright. Sure, there are some people I dislike in the thing to a point where I would despise them and bash them at every chance I get, but this is a live blog made in my opinion. Besides, I don't exactly hate them. That might be a shock considering that I barely finish any part without calling Homura out for something, but because of things like fanart or fanfiction, I like these characters at times. Yes, even Kyubey.

Speaking of art, while I am not a big fan of art, some of the designs are cute or cool depending on what we're talking about. The girls are Moe, half the Witches look cool (except for the arch and cage), the labyrinths look alright, and I like how the art matches the mood. In the earlier chapters, the art looks nice and cute. The darker chapters, however, have the art be dark and gritty. Further cemented with Kyubey's eyes being darkened to contrast his cute persona.

The story is good. While the story could be solved with presenting the girls with some Fridge Logic before the Wham Episodes takes place, the show is a good ride to go on. One could probably blow through this in a few hours. Sure, there were somethings that didn't go well (Hitomi's sudden love for Kyousuke) or things that got left out for the sake of pace (Sayaka's Funeral, which opens up some Fridge Logic), but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

Overall, I recommend this to anyone who wants a change to the Magical Girl genre. Well, I think I've seen people suffer enough. So, what are those demons? How will Kyouko and Mami live without Sayaka? What will happen to Kyousuke and Hitomi? Will the Witches return? For all these questions and more, fan fiction will solve everything.

Claris, Play me out!
