So last time, Demi Fiend was collecting a small army of orcs.◊
You fall through a shaft!
The shaft crumbles and collapses.
Well crud. Shafts are a natural kind of trap in the dungeon that can't be disarmed (for obvious reasons). Falling down one can send you down one to three floors I believe and now I'm separated from Team Demi Fiend.◊
Time to find a staircase upwards.
Well, that wasn't too hard to find.◊ Of course, it has it's own set of problems.◊
I honestly haven't met Joseph enough to remember what he does. All I remember is that he always has a quarterstaff and a sling. Also there is an eye of draining which sucks your MP dry.◊
Huge problem for wizards. Above all of them is Grum, a gnoll who always comes with a large pack of hunting dogs. Yeah, back down I go.
Back on the previous floor, this is a shadow.◊
They're really, really unnotable. Centuars, on the other hand, are now coming in packs and see that big thing in the back? That's a large zombie, or in this case, a rock troll zombie.◊
Two-headed ogres are basically like normal ogres except they attack twice as often and can take more hits.◊ I eventually decide to opt out of being made target practice by four centaurs at once while duking it out with a two headed ogre and use a scroll of teleportation only to be caught by another creatively named ghost of mine.◊
I really don't think I'll make it out of this one.
So I jug a potion of speed and start dancing circles around him while I hit him with smite several times.◊
This was all going quite well until BEES started showing up. Praise Beogh! Upon rekilling Dwarfin, Beogh decided to grant me reinforcements.◊
It's not much but it'll have to do.
Okay, important tip: Animals don't have thumbs, this means if you can get a door between them and you then you're set. I got speed on right now, I might
be able to get to that door and close it without them catching me. No such luck.◊ Pressed for options, I whip out a scroll of magic mapping, there's some downwards stairs.◊
Going down further means running the risk of seeing even tougher enemies but that's a chance I'm going to have to take.
And would you believe it, I make it down there alive.◊
It's not time to calm down yet, I'm just going to tuck myself in a corner of the wall over there and hope that nothing comes along until Demi Fiend gets all healed up. Oh eff again.◊
That's a wyvern and it will hurt you quite bad if it gets the chance. I get off one smite on it and after that, it's meleeing.
Beogh protects you from harm!
MUST SURVIVE! I manage to get a couple of clean hits on it before it decides to run and you know what? So be it, I'm fine with that because Demi Fiend is ALIVE◊
. Woo hoo!
That! That is balls to the wall fighting in this game, it when the game keeps throwing larger amount of pain at you and you make it out alive somehow anyway. Two headed ogres and centuars then a ghost higher level than me with a swarm of bees while trapped in a corner with near no health, and then a wyvern when I had only ten HP left. Bitchin' awesome.
Next time, that fort looking thing to the top right and these white ugly things.◊
Right now? Just going to take a breather because holy crap.
