ADDENDUM 2: Later Classes

'Lo. Let's talk about late game classes.

DRAGOON

  • HP: 7
  • MP: 2
  • STR: 6
  • INT: 3
  • AGI: 5

I hate to say this, because I absolutely love dragoons in any game they appear in, but in this one, well... dragoons really aren't worth using. Compare these stat growths to those of the knight. They're equal or inferior in every way, and knights can use healing magic too. Dragoons can use some magic and deal extra damage to beasts, but beasts aren't that much harder than humans in this game. Compounding the dragoons' issues is the emblem you have to acquire to get him, Dragon Scale. It requires you to kill five dragons, which you rarely fight in a story battle. I might make Allos into a dragoon later just because dragoons are cool, but don't expect it. Dragoons in this game are a let down overall, and showcase the extreme balance issues this game has.

SWORDMASTER:

  • HP: 6
  • MP: 3
  • STR: 5
  • INT: 3
  • AGI: 6

Swordmasters are pretty much super ninjas. They have a large move range, good agility, and can use a few special abilities. In general, you'll want to make your physical troops either swordmasters or knights; like I said, dragoons are kind of underpowered here. Just keep them away from the heavy hitters and they'll make valuable additions to your squad.

PRIEST:

  • HP: 5
  • MP: 6
  • STR: 4
  • INT: 6
  • AGI: 4

Super clerics, essentially. It requires an emblem to get (heal 20 times, training OK). Nothing more to say.

VALKYRIE

  • HP: 6
  • MP: 2
  • STR: 5
  • INT: 5
  • AGI: 5

Just like dragon tamers, I don't really like valkyries. They're masters of none, and I like my troops to be specialized in this kind of game. Use them if you want, but I don't recommend it.
