The REAL Happy Ending!

(The previous installment was partially an ending I made up, using elements of the Star Trek The Next Generation episode "Future Imperfect", as well as the Let's Play of that one Sim City game. 2000 or 3000, I think it was. If you went here without going to page 30 first, go back, because the only lines I'm going to give you from that are the two from before it stops being dialogue from the game. So now, I give you: the real rest of the Happy ending! ...And a little more afterwards.)

ROOK: I Did What I Had to Do, Walker.

WALKER: What you had to do was protect your city. I trusted you to make the right decision in a difficult situation.

ROOK: Just then, guess who appeared in the doorway.

EVELYN: Rook!

ROOK: Evelyn!

EVELYN: Did you get the crown?!

ROOK: Yes, it's safe. Morcubus will never find it now.

As long as he never goes to the hangar and look in the trophy case, that is.

EVELYN: Thank you for sending a team after me, Rook. I don't know how to thank you.

MIKE: EVIE!!!

ROOK: He went over to her.

MIKE: Oh, my little Evie, they found you! You're home!!

ROOK: They embraced, as would only be right.

BUDDY: I missed you too, pal! Don't ever do that again!

ROOK: They hugged, as well.

EVELYN: Okay, Buddy. I promise.

MIKE: Evie, my little girl, we have so much time to make up for...

EVELYN: It's okay, Dad. We can finally be together now.

MIKE: You've done the impossible, Rook: You brought my family back together. I'm sorry I doubted you.

I wonder who "Ivy" is. Could be a wife, or even just a trusted friend. If the former, then that really would be... well, almost impossible.

EVELYN: Thank you. The Grays are forever in your debt.

ROOK: Now it was my turn to be hugged by her.

ROOK: You're going to have a pretty hard time convincing me I made the wrong decision here, Walker.

JENNY: Besides, as I recall, you left Rook in charge of this agency.

BUDDY: We've hidden the Nightmare Crown someplace where no one will ever find it.

ROXIE: And if Morcubus tries anything funny again, we'll be ready for him!

ROOK: We stopped him once, and we can do it again.

ROOK: All four of us stood together in front of the desk.

WALKER: I hope you're right, Rook. Looks like your minds are set. That's fine. The city is your responsibility. But Morcubus will strike again someday... and when he does, I need you to be ready, Special Agent Rook.

ROOK: I will be, sir.

ROOK: We shook hands, and he left.

ROOK: Say, Jenny... why are you still here, anyway? Not that I want you to go or anything...

JENNY: I think I've come to like working here.

ROOK: What about that Starcruiser X job?

JENNY: I'll ask if I can work from here. If not... hmm... it'll be a tough decision, but you guys have a good chance of winning out!

ROOK: Good to know. ...Well, nothing's going on right now, we don't even have any dispatch missions... want me to call up Gino's, and we can have some pizza on the roof?

JENNY: Sure!

ROOK: Sounds great, pal!

ROXIE: Ask for extra napkins, and I'm there!

So, that's that!

The end of the game, and this thread. I'll still check for comments, and maybe edit for spelling and formatting of my installments, because I know I made some mistakes on that count.

Hey, you missed a trophy!

I know, I know. There's this empty spot between the trophy of the lab crew and the one of Avian Joust Goth Boy, and I don't know where that one is. I suppose I could hit up GameFAQs or something. If it's in the mountains, the swamp, underwater, or the jungle, though, it's Lost Forever, and I'll need to do a new playthrough for that.

What now?

My plan is to liveblog My Sims Kingdom for the Wii. It'll fill the same slot. It'll be another reader participation one, so hopefully, I get feedback not too long after I ask.

Thanks for reading!

I rather enjoyed this conclusion. Some comedy, some drama, and pretty much everyone had a happy ending this time around. The twist in that next-to-last update was nice as well; I never expected Rook's family to be nothing more than a one-time gag until then, and I'm impressed that you used all those little inconsistencies to craft such an ending.

All in all, I think you've done a wonderful job with this game. Thanks for updating, and I'll be sure to check out your next project! I just hope I don't end up being the main suggester again...
