Let's Play Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis!
How ironic. As I begin reading this the same day as I decided to play my old time favorite "Ogre Battle: The March Of The Black Queen".

Knight of Lodis is a fun game Shame the ending is such a downer
Ghilz
Actually does bring the question, you ever played Ogre Battle: MotBQ or Ogre Battle 64 Person of Lordly Caliber?
Ghilz
I played Ogre Battle 64. I considered L Ping it, actually, but I'm not that good at it. I played about halfway through Mot BQ before I quit out of frustration.

Orcus, it's great to hear from you again! Once again, I should thank you for introducing me to this series; I recently finished Chapter 2-Law of LUCT, and save for a few challenging battles I've had to completely restart a few times, I'm definitely enjoying myself. I wish you the best of luck on this latest challenge, and hope to see another update soon.

I'm getting the remake for my birthday, May 14. I've heard good things about it. Can't wait to play it.
gentlemanorcus
Yeah, Mot BQ and 64 are unforgiving as hell. Still, some of my favorite games. Aint got a PSP so never played LUCT coz I heard the snes translation pstch kind of blows.
Ghilz
Wondered about doing an LP of Mot BQ, but not sure how fun this would turn out to be.
Ghilz
I would be quite interested in seeing someone actually beat the game, so I'd say go for it. Up to you, of course.
gentlemanorcus
I'm just gonna say this here: no spoilers, please.
gentlemanorcus
No more reports? Aww, and I really loved picking out random blokes and dames to learn more about. I'll probably get over it by the next update, but still...

So, this lady named Eleanor...I think it's blatantly obvious that she's going to become important in the future of this blog. Love interest, perhaps? Guess I'll just have to wait until later to find out.

It does bring question about what kind of religion requires the pope to find some sort of doomsday weapon to be taken seriously.

Kind of fuzzy on the timeline too. To avoid spoilers, when does this takes place when compared to MOBQ and PLOC (It does mention LUCT, but I wont go into details to avoid spoiler)
Ghilz (edited by: Ghilz)
LUCT is 7, PLOC is 6, and MOBQ is five, so I'd say that since T Ko L isn't numbered, it takes place a very small time after PLOC.

Exactly how big is this landmass, anyways? Twice has Belgger been cast away from his best friend, and twice have they coincidentally reunited. Why, most people wouldn't be able to find their car in a parking lot without having it beep, let alone find one familiar face in an area populated by a thousand strangers!

As for the choice, my vote goes towards the first of the two options. It seems cruel to interfere with the affairs of a race that we hardly know and steal their treasure, but there is a great deal at stake here. Plus, a rift has already formed between Rictor and Belgger; backing out on this matter could leave us without a single ally in this unfamiliar land.
EndarkCuli
Yeah, it's a bit contrived Rictor and Belgger coincidentally run into each other twice.
gentlemanorcus
Go for the canon ending.
Ghilz
To those interested, want to point you to this. Trying to overhaul the Ogre Battle pages, need help badly.
Ghilz
I would help, but I'm not very good with editing.
gentlemanorcus
You know, I'm really starting to wonder what Mermaids taste like. My first answer would be like salmon, but for all I know, it could be more akin to pork. But either way, I'm still not buying that immortality myth.

Once you publish the page, click the pen button to edit it there's a button in the top right corner for it.
Ghilz (edited by: Ghilz)
Yeah, but I knew that: what I mean is what do i put for wiki page and namespace?
gentlemanorcus
You mean making wicks? See Text Formatting Rules
Ghilz (edited by: Ghilz)
That should help. Thanks.

Congrats on managing not to die for another 365.25 days, Orcus! And it's certainly good to hear that the man that introduced me to Tactics Ogre is (mostly) pleased with his rewards. I'm not certain how far you are in any of the paths, or if you're using a walkthrough to check the differences between the remake and the original, but there's definitely a few surprises that you're going to enjoy in days to come...

Oh, and back on the main topic of this blog, it looks like Belgger's finally getting a break. It's a shame that, with a couple of armies trying to beat him to his goal, this fortune propably won't last long...

The struggle to reverse a traumatic change by any means necessary, and the suffering that comes from said means...it's a poignant tale told in many forms throughout many stories, is it not? It may seem fatalistic, but perhaps it is better to forget and move on than to desperately cling to a memory...

On a semi-related note, that was a textbook case of Poor Communication Kills, wasn't it? At least the only casualties were Elrick's ghost-hating chums.

Looking forward to that Addendum then!
Ghilz
Okay...really, with a name eerily similar to 'malice', I was expecting something underhanded to occur. But now...well, I'm not entirely sure what to say. Is she a ghost, a projection, or something else entirely? Why can't Belgger see her? Have we just crossed the line from "Shakespeare-esque tragedy with some fantasy elements" to something even less mundane? I suppose I'll have to await for the next update to receive my answers...
