* AntiClimaxBoss: Garuza Palace - it may hit hard and fire fast, but it always fires directly at the players. This comes at a part of the game where the player can freely move in all directions, making these shots far easier to dodge than it may sound. It's not the easiest boss in the world, but anyone who makes it that far is unlikely to lose to it.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The very catchy [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8DtN5o8gIU title theme]]. It also plays in 9-1 and during the Garuza Palace fight.
* CultClassic: Didn't stand out enough during its day to get much attention, but among those who either had it as kids or discover it today, you'll find few detractors.
* ThatOneBoss: Horrza, the Area 9 boss. Also qualifies as BulletHell. Lampshaded in-game when an NPC tells you "The enemy boss in this area is VERY TOUGH! Be careful."
* ThatOneLevel: 5-2 and 5-3, where the red droplets from the ceiling can easily knock you into pits and because of the game's unconventional jump physics. Dodging them isn't very easy.
