* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The Redbook audio soundtrack in the [[UsefulNotes/TurboGrafx16 TurboGrafx-CD]] version.
* PortingDisaster: The Mega Drive version had its graphics horribly mutilated, even worse music than the arcade version, and is missing the [[ShootEmUp shmup]] segments from Rounds 5, 6, 9, 12, and 13 due to lack of ROM space. To compensate, it does have options to alter the difficulty and credits however.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSong: the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cncuVJg5arU first stage music]] resembles "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVrWvyGrc1E Tokyo Reggie]]" by Masayoshi Takanaka quite a bit.
* ThatOneAttack: The Armor King's RocketPunch. This attack of the penultimate boss is the only time he allows himself to be vulnerable, and it chases you around the entire battlefield until it hits you. And it's also faster than you.
* ThatOneBoss:
** The ice round boss is significantly more frustrating than others, moving erratically making its weak point hard to hit, and spamming ice crystals that block your shots and expand when you hit them.
** The giant mushroom boss. It's not so hard to not die, but it depends on luck if you can hit it at all.
** The penultimate boss is even worse, because of his homing fist that kills you in one hit and is very very hard to dodge, as well as the weak point he covers up when he retrieves his fist.
** The final boss is easier than the three aforementioned bosses at first glance... But if you lose all your lives, you die permanently, no continues, and the [[OneHitKill fiery breath in the first phase]] suddenly becomes much more dreaded.
