* HateDumb[=/=]FanDumb: When Gail was still just a fangirl, she posted the list on a number of primarily male comic site forums. The reactions unfortunately were a mix of obsessive defending of the medium to misogynistic death threats from those who took things far too seriously and have serious problems with women. Even now, a lot of fans write it off as nonsense or ignore the trend outright (though, some will admit some cases have merit, but deny that it happens as much as claimed).
** On the inverse, some people will accuse anything that happens to a female character as this. If they so much as get hit once or twice in a fight, people will act like the story is violence porn, even if they deal out ''far'' more punishment against their opponent or ultimately win. They seem to ignore that even Superman gets hit a few times in his fights, and that if the character didn't get at least a little banged up, then they'd be labelled a Mary Sue. Unfortunately, this has actually been used to attack Gail's writing; more than once someone has called her a hypocrite because her work has the female characters get into the same kind of scrapes as the male ones. It seems people don't understand that the point is ''unneeded'' violence and diffilment against female characters is the problem, not any and all violence.
