* {{Anvilicious}}: Racism and closed class systems? Bad.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: In the Desecrated Shrine, the gang suddenly come across an abandoned porn magazine that just happens to be there. HilarityEnsues, and is never mentioned again. Not even when you find the Adult Mag BonusBoss, which this was probably foreshadowing.
* CompleteMonster: Although Kartikeya initially appears to be an average PsychoForHire, it's revealed later via flashbacks that he shot Greg's [[WouldHurtAChild 5-year-old son]] and his wife for trying to protect Greg for no real reason other than it was a fun way to play with his new ARM. His reason for attacking Greg and then letting him live after murdering his family? Again, [[ForTheEvulz just for the fun of it]].
* FreudWasRight: The Lucadia summon is awfully [[SwallowedWhole vore-tastic]].
* FridgeHorror: [[spoiler: After Kartikeya shoots himself and leaves a huge hole in his own gut, there's a severe lack of {{Gorn}} where {{Gorn}} ought to be. [[{{Squick}} But do we really wanna know why this guy seems to lack organs?]]]]
* GeniusBonus: There's an elephant BonusBoss called "Chaugnar Faugn." It's actually a reference to an obscure EldritchAbomination from the Franchise/CthulhuMythos.
* {{OT3}}: Avril/Dean/Rebecca is extremely common in FanFic.
* {{Narm}}: While his voice actor does a good job most of the time, Nightburn's commercial.
** [[NarmCharm Considering how goofy and over the top it is, probably intentional.]]
* NightmareFuel: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oLacupZpRs The use of the Darkness Tear]].
* TheScrappy:
** Rebecca takes a lot of heat from the fandom, often being called "bitchy" for her temper, "whiny" for fawning over Dean but [[CanNotSpitItOut not being brave enough to tell him]], and "annoying" for writing major events down in her {{Diary}}. Still, others just hate her [[DieForOurShip for being in Avril's way]].
** Dean is a close second, as many fans find his unwavering optimism to mean that he's out of touch with reality...or that he's [[WhatAnIdiot just plain dumb]].
* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: One of the best ''Franchise/WildArms'' games by far, but notable is the improvement of the HEX-system. Rather than having to choose, all characters can both move ''and'' perform an action during their turn (In ''VideoGame/WildArms4,'' only [[GameBreaker Raquel]] could do this). Experience is also evened out and abundant. In addition, half of the characters don't have to be next to their targets to attack, with Rebecca and Greg being able to shoot anything in a straight line and Carol being able to shoot any HEX she wants.
* ThatOneBoss: Several, but the Four Sentinels are among the most difficult each having an attack that deals insane amount of damage being downright OneHitKill. The fact they have means to counter their own weaknesses also doesn't help either. And to make matters worse, you immediately have to fight them again as a DuelBoss.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: General consensus is that the ending is less interesting than it could have been on several accounts: [[spoiler:explaining Avril's amnesia with "It was a StableTimeLoop" and Volsung's villainy with "He was [[DemonicPossession possessed]]."]] Many were hoping for more intricate, complex answers to those questions, rather than [[spoiler:explanations that can literally be summed up in one trope]].
** TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: There's also the handling of [[spoiler: the Hatred itself, which could have made for a horrifying BiggerBad or TheCorruption, seeing as how it's pretty much ''[[VideoGame/EarthBound Giygas]] with a mind!'' Sadly, it was only referenced a few times mid-game and is not seen again until the end.]]
