* CultClassic: Even before the 1985 book ''Eiskalt!'' came out, ''Werner'' was described as a "Kultfigur" (cult character). In ''Eiskalt!'', Werner himself says that's nonsense, and if someone "makes cult", that's farmer Horst with his Lanz Bulldog tractor. The third panel shows the tractor with "Kult Kult Kult" being used as a WrittenSoundEffect standing for the vintage tractor's famous engine noise.
* MemeticMutation:
** Terms and sayings like "Gas Wasser Scheiße" (Gas, water, shit (for those who work with it)); "Sach Bescheid!" - "Bescheid!" (nigh-impossible to translate; maybe: "Tell us about it!" - "About it!"); Flaschbier (for beer in bottles), Bölkstoff (beer in general; eventually became the brand for the official Werner beer), Tass Kaff (very short form for a cup of coffee), Schnüffelstück...
** The nickname "Güllepumpe" (slurry pump) for the Honda [=CX500=] comes from a comic in which Werner abuses the cooling water pump from one of them as a makeshift slurry pump for Horst.
** The Flachköpper (literally "shallow head dive", meaning a jump into very shallow water or, more often even, jumping at the surf when there's water and landing when there's none) has not only gained its own popularity, especially since ''Gekotzt wird später!'' showed it in animated form for the first time, but the term is sometimes even used for similar-looking accidents. Come to think of it, a Flachköpper was the first thing Werner ever did in a comic.
* UglyCute: Werner might be TheAlcoholic and [[DrivesLikeCrazy a crazy driver]], but he's got a certain level of appeal that gives him a level of charm.
