* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The whole freaking soundtrack. However, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6JuJnfL6QY&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL Stage 1]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXG7JKfpVak and the first half of Stage 3]] stand out as the best tracks.
* BreatherBoss: Doyle. Just don't stand in the same lane as him and watch out for his recovery. In his second phase, a bit before he dies, he can fall in a single combo and not attack at all.
* EvenBetterSequel: To ''VideoGame/Vendetta1991'', if you consider ''Violent Storm'' to be the third ''VideoGame/CrimeFighters'' game.
* GameBreaker: Your characters have an attack that make them pick up knocked down enemies. Though it does no damage, it's very possible to cheese most bosses by cornering the bosses and picking them up before they can wake up.
* NarmCharm: The music from the first half of Stage 3. It's so cheesy yet it's awesome to hear and that it literally screams early to mid [[TheNineties '90s]]. Same with the music in Stage 5.
* QuirkyWork: Despite the game's post-apocalyptic setting and plot, it's pretty much an AffectionateParody of the BeatEmUp genre that refuses to take itself seriously.
* {{Suspiciously Similar Song}}s: The first stage music sounds like "Shakedown" by Music/BobSeger. The sixth stage music is a homage to Music/TheBeachBoys with a hint of "Shake It Up" by Music/TheCars. The final stage music takes a cue from "Working Day and Night" by Music/MichaelJackson.
* ThatOneBoss:
** When Sledge says he'll eat you for breakfast, it's not an idle boast. He's ''extremely'' annoying, leaping around the screen at will and blocking half of what you throw at him with his wok shield. His [[FlashStep speed]] ensures it will be hard to even land hits at him unless you brought [[FragileSpeedster Kyle]], and even if you did bring Kyle, he is still faster than you. His flying attacks leave few openings and can hit even if you don't stand in the same line as him.
** Lord Geld is brutal even by FinalBoss standards. He can't be struck by combos, has fearsome grabs, can block many attacks, and is exactly as tough as you would expect someone bringing magic to a fistfight would be ... [[MasterOfAll Especially if that someone bringing magic to the fistfight trained hard and got really buff in the process.]] He spits acid that limits the player's movement, and his Giga Storm can hit you from everywhere if you don't move fast. He also has a stronger version that makes him invincible and hurts in a large area of effect. Overall, he's the one boss that outpaces the aforementioned '''Sledge'''.
* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: This is quite possibly the most [[TheNineties '90s]] beat-em-up ever made, [[AffectionateParody which was more or less the point]].
