* AcceptableTargets: In the Silly Song "Oh, Santa", Larry bakes three cookies for Santa; however, when a bank robber breaks in Larry decides to give him one out of generosity; the same goes for a Norse Viking. However, he brazenly slams the door in the face of ''an agent from the IRS''. At the end of the song, the agent comes in anyway, asks if Larry has "claimed" the cookie, then takes it anyway.
* {{Anvilicious}}: Of the Delicious variety.
** SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: Yes, the show is unabashedly {{Anvilicious}}, but that's kind of the point and the show works better for it.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** Honorable mention for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc-fMzuu4s0 The W's cover of Rumor Weed.]] Awesome!

* BizarroEpisode: "The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment" has been called one of the weirdest ''[=VeggieTales=]'' videos yet. Bob and Larry travel to the future, where they learn entertainment will rely entirely on making characters perform songs and jokes related to subjects picked at random. Some might also find the Aesop randomly tacked on ("Even if your day doesn't go as planned, at least God still loves you!"). The episode started out as a compilation of music videos for songs from ''[=VeggieTales=]''-themed soundtracks.
* BrokenBase: The [[ArtEvolution new character designs]] were met with polarizing reception when they were announced in September 2014.
* EarWorm: Many of the songs, especially in the "Silly Songs with Larry" section.
** Plus Billy Joe [=McGuffrey=].
** 'What We Gonna Do?' the VillainSong from 'Daniel And The Lion's Den.' Actually goes pretty far for a Veggie Tales cartoon; while some of the lyrics are silly (they suggest using Daniel as a table for Scrabble) they also mention beating him up and feeding him to crocodiles. All while being an insanely catchy [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaVc2krA2jo song.]]
** Actually created some problems with the original version of "The Bunny Song" from the "Rack, Shack and Benny" video when Big Idea was deluged with complaints from parents about kids singing lines like "I don't love my mom or my dad, just the bunny"; as a result the song was rewritten and redubbed for later releases; and a [[ClipShow Silly Song compilation video]] contained a follow-up song where Mr. Nezzer's lesson appears to have stuck with him.
** The "What Have We Learned" song is very catchy in-universe and out; the only one that doesn't seem to like it is Bob.
*** He admitted it grew on him as of ''Lord of the Beans'' right after the Sporks stole the record.
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ4R9JUwQ-8 The Song of the Cebu]], at least until they run out of lyrics.

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXM2o_Hb9Ls "Keep walking, 'cause you won't tear down our wall! Keep walking, 'cause she isn't gonna fall!"]]
** The Grapes of Wrath's song from the episode of the same name.
** The "Busy" song in "The Story Flibber-O-Loo".
* EvilIsSexy: {{Parodied|Trope}} with the Bad Apple.
* FamilyUnfriendlyAesop: The [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Müller George Mueller]] story. Putting the lives of several orphans in the hands of chance is better than taking money from the government, apparently.
** However, this was the 18th century, where the government either didn't care or would throw them into [[OrphanageOfFear the other kind of orphanage]] or even jail just for being on the street. Mueller himself gladly took donations when they were offered, and passed out yearly budget reports. [[HonorBeforeReason He just would never ask for anything.]]
** According to "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?", you shouldn't call the police if you hear something strange in your house, because God is here to protect you! This can apply if it's a boogeyman that only exists in your imagination, but what if it's a very real threat, like a burglar or a serial killer?
* HilariousInHindsight: In the commentary for "Duke and the Great Pie War", David Pitts asked if they had any apple characters. A year later, an apple character shows up.
* PeripheryDemographic: Who got WesternAnimation/VeggieTales going in its early years? College students. The show is also enjoyed by many non-Christians.
* ReplacementScrappy: Ichabeezer.
* SeasonalRot: Phil stated in a podcast that he noticed that the post-Jonah episodes aren't as successful (in terms of selling) as the older ones, and speculates it's probally how the media reacts nowasays.
* ShallowParody: The show isn't usually guilty of this itself, but [=VeggieTales=] has been the target of some ''very'' nasty, mean-spirited mockeries which, to the letter, haven't been nearly as clever or funny as their intended target.
** Though ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' managed to do a rather funny, two-second-long parody of the series by playing its premise totally straight -- heck, the line could pretty much ''be'' from the real thing:
-->'''Moses:''' Mighty Yamses, we grow weary of building your food pyramids. Let my pickles go.\\
'''Homer:''' ''(watching the video)'' Mmmmmmmmm, Moses....
** ''Literature/TheGrapesOfWrath'' sketch is just a pun on the name; other than the accents on the titular angry grapes it has [[InNameOnly nothing to do with the original whatsoever.]] Bob calls Larry on this, having been expecting to hear the actual story being told.
* SpecialEffectsFailure[=/=]TheyJustDidntCare: ''Sweetpea Beauty'' has probably the worst animation of any Veggie video. No lighting whatsoever, props randomly move from one position to another, one character's mouth randomly grows and drops in framerate, and ''entire backgrounds and textures disappear for no apparent reason''.
* TearJerker: The silly song "Pizza Angel" is one of the saddest things in the show. It even ends with Larry, one of the funniest characters on the show crying because the delivery guy ate his pizza.
--> '''Larry:''' "Pizza Angel, I'm on my knees. You'll live forever in my memories.''
* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: ''Larryboy and the Bad Apple'' actually got two different games for both the PS2 and the GBA. While the GBA game was [[NoProblemWithLicensedGames a pretty good 2D puzzle-platformer]], the PS2 game (a 3D platformer), however, was hampered by messy controls, somewhat repetitive gameplay, and wasted potential.
** Veggietales also has gotten several PC games over the years, such as ''The Mystery Of Veggie Island'' (a point-and-click adventure game with Junior as the main character), ''Minnesota Cuke and the Coconut Apes'' (a side-scrolling platformer), and ''Jonah: A Veggietales Game'' (a Minigame Compilation based on the movie). Most of them, while definitely playable and cleverly written like the show, [[SoOkayItsAverage come off as unremarkable gameplay-wise]], however.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: In more recent years, [=VeggieTales=] has changed its intro (which cuts off a verse of the theme song), its animation studio ([[SpecialEffectsFailure the quality seems to have gone down]]), its logo, QWERTY, the format of the letters (they're now videos from kids), and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking the DVD cases are no longer green]]. The [=DVDs=] also no longer have those fun little {{Easter Egg}}s on them, [[NostalgiaFilter like they used to...]]
** Big Ideas unveiled new redesigns of the characters. The fan base did not approve.
* UnfortunateImplications: In "Dave and the Giant Pickle", the French Peas calling the Israelites pigs is somewhat racial, considering Hebrews are kosher. Phil later apologized to anyone in the commentary if they're insulted.
