* {{Adorkable}}: Musashi Haruno. He's kindness coupled with his childish and joyous attitude makes him very endearing. Being easy on the eyes also helps.
* AmericansHateTingle: the Japanese fandom straight-up loves this series as a whole with Cosmos even ranking high in popularity polls for Ultramen. The Western fandom on the other hand has a more mixed reaction since while the LighterAndSofter approach is not new for the franchise, having the series hero be a pacifist who generally tries not to kill his enemies is quite unorthodox, and depending on who you ask, makes the show fresh and uplifting or just makes it saccharine. However, this only applies to the TV series, as the movies for the series are generally well-liked.
* ArchivePanic: At 65 episodes ''and'' 3 movies, it's one of the longest series in the franchise. Not to mention the appearances Cosmos makes in other media of the ''Franchise/UltraSeries''.
* CommonKnowledge: Some people think Cosmos's Full Moon Rect and Luna Extract abilities mind control [[HeelFaceBrainwashing Monsters, and Aliens into submission]]. This is not true, It cannot force someone to become good, it can only calm down or remove the brainwashing capabilities of other forces, most notably Chaos Header. If a monster, or alien are doing something of their own free will his beams can't stop them. [[spoiler: Funny enough, BrainwashingForTheGreaterGood fits Chaos Header's methods way more]].
* EnsembleDarkhorse:
** The Chaos Ultramen, evil palette swaps of Cosmos' Corona [[spoiler:and Eclipse]] form, who have some of the best fights in the series' latter half and typically force Cosmos to [[LetsGetDangerous fight for real]].
** Taken further by Ultraman Justice, whose popularity skyrocketed through the 2003 ''Cosmos vs Justice'' movie. After all, one of the fans of Ultraman Justice turns out to be the [[Series/UltramanGeed future actor of another Ultra Series protagonist]].
** On the less big side, [[BigFun Doigaki]] has some fans for being a NiceGuy, having fun focus episodes, and being fat without being entirely comic-relief.
* EvilIsCool: As mentioned in the EnsembleDarkhorse section, the Chaos Ultramen due to them being evil clones to the Ultra.
* HarsherInHindsight: Cosmos himself is a blue Ultra who emphasizes of pacifistic means to end conflicts. The next series to air right in Cosmos' timeslot after it ended was none other than ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'', an anime which emphasizes on conflict based on FantasticRacism and PoorCommunicationKills. The kicker? A radical group calls themselves as "Blue '''Cosmos'''", which sows hatred towards the Coordinator race and refuses any peaceful treaty with the latter for as long as said race continues to exist.
* {{Narm}}: Cosmos's fighting style is sometimes seen as this. While it is justified that he uses it as a defensive approach with no intention of harming his opponents, his poses and circular motion movements tends to be odd sometimes in more dire battles.
* NarmCharm: As mention above his fighting style tends to be odd looking, but when Cosmos uses it on the offensive, he can dish out a glorious beating like nobody's business. Special mention goes to his fight with the Luna clone. His fighting style also looks less odd to those who recognise it as Tai Chi, a defensive style of Kung Fu focused on redirecting the opponent's strikes.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: The act of Cosmos pacifying the MonsterOfTheWeek instead of killing them almost made this an OddballInTheSeries, but...
* RetroactiveRecognition: That boy in the kitsune mask from episode 8? That's Creator/KoukiUchiyama.
