* AngstWhatAngst: The beginning of Episode 49. At the end of Episode 48, it looked like Dan was dying. [[CliffhangerCopout Turns out, he was sedated and resting.]]
* AntiClimaxBoss: Alien Cool, Android Zero
* AwesomeMusic:
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoeWD_wH-kE ULTRA SEVEN]], the AWESOME insert theme used in some cases...
** "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZlhwfmeV_s Fight! Ultra Seven]]", used as ThemeMusicPowerUp
** Part II of "The World's Greatest Invasion" features [[http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ea/Schumann_-_Piano_Concerto_in_A_minor_Op.54_-_I._Allegro.ogg this classical number]] during both Dan's farewell to Anne and Seven's rematch with Reconstructed Pandon.
* BadExportForYou: It's nice to have it on R1, but the set itself lies and says its mono, when it's really a 5.1 remix with new sound effects, and the video is taken from basically ripping the R2s.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Aoki from "Glory for Whom?" redeemed himself before dying and got a nice sendoff.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Captain Kurata, complete with an [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic awesome theme song]] for him and Kiriyama.
** Seven himself in the franchise, to the point where he has countless tributes and even sequels and remakes dedicated only to him. He's practically the poster child of the franchise along with the original Ultraman.
*** By extension, model-turned-actor Kohji Moritsugu. He and Susumu Kurobe are still associated with their respective characters and have appeared in various shows and movies, even reprising their roles. Moritsugu got to be captain of a kaijuu-fighting team ''three times'' (in ''Ultraman Leo'', the movie ''Ultraman Zearth II'', and the spoof ''Uchimura Sebun'').
** Eleking among kaijuus, according to an informal survey from Tsuburaya Productions. Second place: Windam.
* EvenBetterSequel: As good and as popular as its predecessor is, this show may even be much more popular, even compared to later shows.
* FairForItsDay: Anne went out in the field, flew the Ultra Hawk 3 (and one time, Ultra Hawk 1) by herself, and shot aliens often, more often than Fuji used to in her own show.
* FirstInstallmentWins: Compared to SequelSeries ''Series/UltramanLeo'', the video specials, or ''Series/UltrasevenX''.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: Robot Commander's plan to repopulate the Fourth Planet with Earthlings to sustain the machines is similar to what the machines did to humans in ''Anime/TheAnimatrix''.
* FridgeHorror:
** From "Come in, Max"
--->'''Soga:''' "What have you done with the crew?"
--->'''Godora:''' "Let's just say they're taking a walk... in space. We threw them out of the ship. Some of them tried to resist us. [[EvilLaugh Ha ha ha ha ha]]"
** The Earth is not in such a good shape after Seven leaves for M-78.
* HarsherInHindsight: The BannedInChina episodes listed above, as well as the off-screen disasters (i.e. plane crash) caused by unsuspecting smokers in Episode 8.
* HellIsThatNoise: [[MeaningfulName Alien Bell]] emits a high-pitched ringing sound that humans can't stand, but it can stun Seven.
** Alien Guts' roar.
** King Joe's mechanical droning sound.
** From Episode 48:
*** Either the radar ping or the actual (not audible to humans) sound when the Ghos aliens arrived on Earth caused Dan pain.
*** The cuckoo clock in Dan's room makes the only sounds the audience hears just before Seven's Superior appears to order Seven's return.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** ''Guts'' Aliens were the BigBad in this show; [[Series/UltramanTiga in another show]], ''GUTS'' is the TrueCompanions/Kaijuu fighting force.
** Alien Wyar liked [[{{Film/Troll}} turning people into plants]]
** Despite [[CreatorBacklash Akio Jissoji's misgivings]] about the scene between Alien Metron and Dan in "The Targeted Town", he shot an even more outrageous scene for Kaito and [[spoiler:the original]] Alien Metron when he directed the SequelEpisode for ''Series/UltramanMax''.
* IAmNotSpock: Kohji Moritsugu averts this to this day.
* {{Macekre}}: TNT's editing of the Cinar dub.
* {{Moe}}: Anne, when she's not being Badass.
* NamesTheSame: Alien Metron shares a name with a Marvel Comics character.
* {{Narm}}:
** Don't look too closely, but Gandar is reminiscent of [[SpongebobSquarepants Gary B. Snail]] on a bad day.
** In the Cinar dub, Alien Bado becomes [[TomTheDarkLord Wayne, Lord of the Universe]]! He'll turn Earth into WaynesWorld!
** From said dub, the Buffins from Abbadon (actually, the Guts aliens)
** From Episode 46, the alien device used to extract Seven's secrets from Dan's brain is called...The Talk Machine!
** From later in the same episode, the tug-of-war between Seven and his robot knockoff.
* OlderThanTheyThink:
** Seven's Capsule Monsters (monsters in miniature containers that can be summoned at will) predated [[{{Franchise/Pokemon}} Poke Balls]] by thirty years.
** An enemy named Borg (an actual Cyborg) predated ''Next Generation'' by twenty years.
* OneOfUs: Moritsugu is the biggest collector of Ultra Seven memorabilia in Japan, which he'll proudly show off at his home and his restaurant.
* OneSceneWonder: Seven's boss in the GrandFinale, [[HotScientist Dorothy Andersen]] in "The Ultra Garrison Goes West Part II", Aoki in "Glory for whom?", and Captain Kurata in three episodes, including the GrandFinale.
* ParanoiaFuel: A truck constantly chased the poor old man whom nobody believed in "The Fugitive Fortune Teller". Luckily, Dan and Kiriyama listened...
** From Episode 8 "The Targeted Town": Smoking doesn't seem glamorous at all, especially after aliens tampered with a particular batch in Japan. [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything People would go postal as a result of the tainted cigarettes, assault others, pass out, and finally forget they ever did any harm.]] Imagine if aliens could tamper with, say, water...
** If the narrator is to be believed, aliens could be anywhere...
* TheScrappy: In-universe. Aoki from "Glory for whom?"
* UncannyValley: The [[TheFaceless featureless]] aliens in "Seek Tomorrow" wear masks with blank eyes (think Batman in the comics) and unmovable mouths (like Michael Myers).
* VindicatedByHistory: At the time, Ultraseven was considered a ContestedSequel due to its focus on the science-fiction elements rather than monster-stomping superhero action. Nowadays Ultraeven is consdered one of the all time classics, and is as iconic as the original series itself.
* VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Seven's transformation, several kaijuu and mecha costumes (Guts, Eleking) and miniature scenery could have easily gone toe-to-toe with many of the feature-film releases at the time.
* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Seven vs Perolinga
