* BrokenBase: Fans often argue over what album showcases the ''[[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation real]]'' Tupac. The albums in question are ''Me Against the World'' VS ''All Eyez on Me''. Proponents of the former claim that the album is better than AEOM because of its depth and dark, introspective approach, while claiming that AEOM is just a typical mainstream rap album people jumped on the bandwagon for. Conversely, fans of the latter argue that Tupac works with a much wider range of topics in AEOM than in MATW, living it up on a few songs while exploring more serious topics in others.
* ConfirmationBias: for better or for worse, this was a HUGE part of his appeal to his core audience.
* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Recently, his hologram duet with Snoop Dogg at Coachella.
* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: ''Dear Mama''.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: Most of his songs.
** "Picture Me Rollin'" deserves special mention. No hook, two solid guest spots, one of the best verses Pac ever dropped.
** The guitar riffs in "Me and My Girlfriend" are simply beautiful, not to mention the dexterity with which its prime conceit (depicting guns as women) is carried in the lyrics.
* EarWorm: ''Hail Mary''. "What do have here now? Do you wanna ride or die? Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na"
** "California Loooove..."
* EpilepticTrees: The whole "Tupac is still alive" thing, helped by the sheer amount of music recorded before his death.
* FandomRivalry: Tupac fans VS. Notorious B.I.G. fans.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: A ''lot'' of his songs are about him dying. Case in point: [[http://ohhla.com/anonymous/2_pac/greatest/troubl96.2pc.txt Troublesome '96]].
** It wasn't impossible to see coming, he grew up surrounded by death, and he made a good deal of enemies.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight / HilariousInHindsight: "And though it seems heaven sent, we ain't ready to have a [[BarackObama black president]]. Can also count as LifeImitatesArt.
** {{Nas}} sampled this line in the chorus of his song "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69Z5AKVwCNk Black President]]".
* HesJustHiding: Many Tupac fans feel that Tupac is still alive and he is hiding somewhere outside of America.
* InternetBackdraft: Tupac VS. Biggie.
* MagnumOpus: General consensus (including Tupac himself) is ''Me Against The World''.
* MemeticMutation: "Pac ain't dead. He'll be back in" (insert date)
* MiscarriageOfJustice: His conviction of sexual assault. The case was bogus but somehow Tupac managed to land himself in prison for one-and-a-half to four-and-a-half years for 'unwanted touching of a woman's buttocks'. The judge essentially claimed that he was some kind of monster for doing so.
* NightmareFuel: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCEmTaWSPTk "Trapped."]] Tupac really doesn't gloss over how horrifying American prisons are known to be.
** ''Hail Mary''. The song is spooky enough on its own, but the video is pretty much a supernatural slasher flick.
* NoSuchThingAsBadPublicity: His controversy was a major contributing factor to his fame.
* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: "Changes" a posthumous remake of Bruce Hornsby's "The Way It Is" and many many more...
** "Ghetto Gospel" wouldn't be so good if it wasn't for this.
* TearJerker: ''Dear Mama'' , and especially ''Brenda's Got A Baby'' which is both soul crushing AND heartbreaking.
* TrueArtIsAngsty
* UncannyValley: Dr. Dre & Snoop Dog brought a Pac hologram with them when they headlined Coachella in 2012. It just ''barely'' looked like a projection, and that was if you were sober and watching on a computer. Naturally, something so unnerving had to [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGbrFmPBV0Y open with Pac's creepiest song]].
* WhatAnIdiot: Confessed on Yo! MTV Raps to beating up the Hughes brothers. Keep in mind that when he assaulted them there were absolutely no witnesses to the crime, so without 2Pac's confession he probably would have walked. With the confession, not only was he convicted and sentenced to 18 days in jail, but the prosecutors made a big deal about how he showed absolutely no remorse for committing the crime and in fact went on television to brag about it.
