* AmericansHateTingle: Aoyama Masaya, poster boy for DieForOurShip, gets ''none'' of that in Japan.
* CompleteMonster: [[BigBad Deep Blue]], in the anime, is cold, extremely cruel and is willing to kill anyone who gets in his way with no remorse whatsoever, nor does he share their feelings towards Ichigo, nor does he hesitate to hurt her or any of the other Mew Mews, despite Ichigo's refusal to fight against him. He also kills Quiche for getting in his way as a sacrifice for protection of Ichigo, and unleashes beams that threaten to murder the other Mew Mews until Pie [[HeroicSacrifice sacrifices himself to save them]].
* CrackPairing: Masaya/Berii.
* CreatorsPet: Berii.
* DieForOurShip:
** Aoyama received a lot of hate from fans solely for the fact that he's Ichigo's eventual canon LoveInterest. As mentioned in FanPreferredCouple, most would rather see Ichigo end up with Shirogane or Quiche.
** While it's not as bad as all the Masaya hate, some Ichigo/Ryou fans bash Retasu for having a crush on Ryou, as seen in some Website/YouTube comments. Nevermind that [[ObliviousToLove Ryou doesn't seem to be aware of her crush]] and that she is [[ShrinkingViolet way too shy]] [[CannotSpitItOut to tell him anyway]].
* DracoInLeatherPants:
** Quiche. Many fans seemed to forget that his "OMG TWU WUB" for Ichigo is StalkerWithACrush played ''dead'' straight, complete with "I'll kill you if I can't have you" and "I'll kill him just because you like him better than me" moments.
** Even if Deep Blue is a CompleteMonster, fans have even bought him leather pants as well. It may have to do with the manga version apparently intending to help the aliens.
* FanPreferredCouple: Masaya/Ichigo fans are a small minority, despite that being the OfficialCouple. Ichigo's other [[{{Harem}} harem boys]], [[AllGirlsWantBadBoys Ryou]] and [[StalkingIsLove Quiche]] are much more opular.
* FanonDiscontinuity: A La Mode, for many fans.
* FoeYay: Bu-ling/Taruto is canon and Pai/Retasu semi-canon if you squint.
** While not as common, there are people who ship Ichigo/Deep Blue.
** Not to mention Zakuro/Pai. It's still overshadowed by Pai/Retasu, though.
* GaryStu: Most American fans view Aoyama to be this. He's popular at school, the star kendo champion, emotionally balanced and an amazing boyfriend. They didn't realize that everything mentioned (except the boyfriend part) was an attempt to blend into society and that he's really Deep Blue.
* LesYay: Minto and Zakuro, to the point where it probably goes beyond SubText.
* MarySue: Depending on where you draw the Mary Sue line, Berii either comes dangerously close to this, or goes way beyond it.
* PeripheryDemographic: (Mostly) adult male doujinshika.
* RelationshipSue: Masaya is often seen as this by American fans, who claim that he's "perfect" and ignore the fact that he's only projecting a "perfect" persona in front of a deeply flawed interior.
* ReplacementScrappy: Berry Shirayuki, the new girl as the star of ''A la mode'', is hated by audiences for taking the spotlight from all the other established cast. The fan reaction to her is parodied with Dr. Alphys in ''{{VideoGame/Undertale}}'' and ''[[CaptainErsatz Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2]]'', where the mere thought of not-Berry results in an angry, rambling wall of text about how she's "neither kissy nor cutie".
* {{Ron the Death Eater}}: Masaya. Sure, he may be [[spoiler:a StepfordSmiler because he hates all of humanity, at least prior to meeting Ichigo]], but he wasn't ''born'' evil, although most people who hate him seem to not be aware of- or deliberately ignore- that spoilered part, which happens after the American dub ended, and instead demonize him as a GaryStu.
* TheScrappy: Masaya, [[DieForOurShip hated by shippers.]]
* {{Sequelitis}}: ''A la Mode''.
* ToyShip: Bu-ling and Tart, which actually becomes canon.
