* AlternativeJokeInterpretation:
** In the "Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace" skit, Homer reads a note "Do not touch", signed "Willie". He reads it as "Do not touch Willie," then says, "Good advice!". Is he taking the note to mean "Don't touch Groundskeeper Willie" because he's gross or is he taking it to mean "Don't touch your willie?" And if it's the latter, is it because it's cold (it was snowing in the episode) or is it because he dislikes masturbation?
** Chief Wiggum saying he's seen ''Film/{{Tron}}'' before immediately backtracking. Was he simply confused, or was he legitimately a fan of what, at the time, was an underground CultClassic and just didn't want to admit it? Note that Wiggum is the only character to [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial say no more than once]].
* AluminiumChristmasTrees: If you look closely, you can see that the misprinted calendar gives the month of "Smarch" 28 days. There really is a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Fixed_Calendar 13-month calendar]], with 28 days in each month.
* HilariousInHindsight:
** In "Homer³", while in the 3rd dimension, Homer says "Oh, I wish I'd read that book by that wheelchair guy...", referring to Creator/StephenHawking and his book ''A Brief History of Time''. In "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS10E22TheySavedLisasBrain They Saved Lisa's Brain]]", Homer actually meets Hawking and even has a beer with him ([[RecognitionFailure although he initially mistook him for Larry Flynt]]).
** The same story's TakeThat to ''Film/{{Tron}}'', where Homer asks if anyone saw the film, and learns that no one in his town did. Thanks to ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'', enough people watched it, and [[Film/TronLegacy it got a sequel fifteen years later]].
** In another ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' related example, fans have jokingly called January 2019 (the release month for ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII'') "Smarch 2018", since the game was originally set for 2018 before being delayed[[note]]13 is a [[ArcNumber very important number]] in Kingdom Hearts, and January 2019 could be thought of as the 13th month of 2018[[/note]].
** The writers originally wanted to feature UsefulNotes/AlGore in the episode, but he never returned their calls, prompting Mirkin to quip "if the VP decides now to pursue this showbiz offer, it's just too late [...] He missed his chance." Gore eventually proved him wrong when he made several guest appearances on ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'', and even featured a clip of the show in his own movie, ''Film/AnInconvenientTruth''.
* MemeticMutation: "Lousy Smarch weather." [[labelnote:Explanation]] A line said by Homer in the "Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace" segment when complaining about the cold and snowy afternoon he and Marge had to endure while going to a meeting [[LampshadeHanging to discuss the misprinted calendars]] bought by the town. The line is used to complain about cold weather during winter/spring months - particularly March.[[/labelnote]]
* RetroactiveRecognition: The 3D animation for "Homer³" was done by Pacific Data Images, which would later become Creator/DreamWorksAnimation.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Despite their age, the computer graphics in "Homer³" are still pretty impressive, mostly because the computerized world is mostly a novelty and was designed to be relatively basic.
