!!Both films:
* BileFascination
* SoBadItsGood
* StrangledByTheRedString: Our hero and heroine.
* UnfortunateCharacterDesign: Mr Ice, the leader of the shark gang, has a fin placed in a... suggestive position.
* UnintentionallySympathetic: The BigBad rat, he [[VillainHasAPoint makes the obvious point that the King of Atlantis is not someone to be trusted, his robe that covers his face for starters]], is only trying to escape because he was forced into the situation in the first place and is reduced to a CassandraTruth type of person.
** The officer in the first film tells Don Juan's friends that Smiley must be kept on a leash. After Don Juan and his comrades board the ship, Smiley goes back to pee on the officer's leg. One cannot help but feel more sympathy for the officer than Smiley since the former was just trying to do his job.
* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: In the first movie, you have evil shark gangs and magic moonbeams. The sequel takes this up to 11. There's a scene where the talking dog is riding in a seahorse-driven chariot and shooting a magical flintlock pistol at some evil sharks. It's either the most awesome thing every filmed, or the crackiest thing this side of ''KatamariDamacy''.

----
!!First film:
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Is the narrator telling the ''real'' story of the Titanic? Is he [[BlatantLies blatantly lying]] to [[LiesToChildren his grandkids]]? Or is he just a senile old man who was rambling the whole time? The words of his wife at the end lend credence to the latter two.
--> "Your grandfather loves to tell stories, but like all sailors, you shouldn't take it too seriously."
* CriticalResearchFailure: Even more so than [[TitanicTheLegendGoesOn that other Titanic cartoon]].
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: The closing credits song, 'Ocean Dreams' (or 'Ocean of Dreams') sung by Cynthia Z.
* DudeNotFunny: It's been getting this reaction because it features the the Titanic '''not''' sinking, along with everyone getting saved (yes, even the band and the Captain), which many consider an insult to those who died in the real tragedy.
* HoYay: The two young male mice, Connors and Ronnie, are quite touchy-feely throughout the film. Makes more sense than when Connors ended up with Stella, who he only shared a few lines with.
* MarySue: One could easily interpret Elizabeth and Don Juan as examples. Elizabeth is a FriendToAllLivingThings with IncorruptiblePurePureness and rebels against social convention by preferring someone of lower status.
** MartyStu: Don Juan also has many of Elizabeth's qualities. The villains clearly single out Don Juan as a target to spy on despite not knowing anything about him.
** PuritySue: Elizabeth in particular, but Don Juan also has a few bits of this.
** RelationshipSue: For each other.

----
!!Second film:

* AngstWhatAngst: Our heroes seem to care very little about the fact that they're stuck in Atlantis forever, even though on the surface Don Juan has his gypsy brothers, Elizabeth has her father, Connors has a wife, and Ronnie has a sister and family.
* DesignatedHero: Taken to the extreme with Re. He is depicted as the BigGood. However, he looks and acts like a BigBad.
* FridgeHorror: Where did Razor-Teeth get that captain's uniform he wears?
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: "This liquid looks pretty! Let's drink it.". The said liquid is colored green. In these days, one of the more well-known drug detectors will turn the drink green when it discovers a date rape drug.
* {{Narm}}: Oddy's attempt at a threat.
-->If something bad happens to my friends, I'll rip every tooth out of that shark and I'll make them into the most beautiful necklace you've ever seen!
* NightmareFuel: [[spoiler:The scene at the end, when the escaped rats are all seen in an insane asylum. Especially the nurse giggling madly while the doctor talks about how there's no hope of them recovering and makes a horrifying face]]. [[DesignatedHero The protagonists all laugh when they see this.]]
** [[spoiler:And the BigBad rat, who's the only sane one (and who did nothing wrong) is also condemned to stay there.]]
* TheScrappy: Pingo has that reputation.
* {{Sequelitis}}: Even though the first movie was one of the worst adaptations of the ''Titanic'' sinking, this movie was even worse than its predecessor.
* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: The King of Atlantis is a good example. He's intended to be a good guy, yet he does not allow Elizabeth, Don Juan, or the others to return to the surface, makes them immortal without telling them, and forces them to live in Atlantis forever.
