* BigLippedAlligatorMoment /CrowningMomentOfFunny - The Silent Monk randomly deciding to pee on Lu Yan. [[spoiler:Turns out it was foreshadowing.]]
** That's just the kind of [[StealthPun dick move]] one would [[spoiler: expect from the Monkey King]].
* ClicheStorm: Big time. Try to indulge in the NarmCharm, or you'll be rolling your eyes so much that you'll be seeing more of the ceiling than the movie.
* CreatorsPet - Jason. Much like [[Film/{{Transformers}} Sam Witwicky of the Transformers films]], fans saw him as a distraction from [[JustHereForGodzilla the true main attractions.]]
** Not really, most of the time he's getting hurt with no clue what he's doing or what to do and The Monk and Lu Yan look at him with annoyance at times with him even getting TheReasonYouSuckSpeech from Jackie Chan during the first half of the movie. When he grows up and trains under them and start really learning what martial arts is about during his training, he's able to defeat the Mooks but knows he doesn't stand a chance against The Jade Emperor and his Dragon.
* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: The staff, an ''inanimate object'', gets one during the bridge scene.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome
* CrowningMomentOfFunny:
-->'''The Silent Monk:''' What about the two tigers on one mountain?\\
'''Lu:''' We can kill each other when it's over.
** May also count as a CrowningMomentOfAwesome or CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming, depending on your opinion.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff - Any film with either Jackie Chan or Jet Li in it has a huge fandom in Asia. So put them both in a movie and...
** ...and it might do just as well as either, despite having both. This only if the fandoms have a large amount of overlap.
* JustHereForGodzilla - Jackie Chan vs Jet Li!!!
* {{Squick}}: Jackie Chan drinking from the remains of his bottle of wine? fine, but not after an incredibly dusty fight which has probably put all sorts into it!
* TheScrappy - Jason.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot
* UnfortunateImplications: The amount of raging people did over the audacity of including a ''white guy'' in a martial arts movie would be (rightly) viewed as astoundingly racist if even half the outrage were expressed at including any other ethnicity in any other genre. ([[Series/{{Merlin}} Perhaps a black family in Camelot?]])
** The gang leader is shown to know Taekwondo. Some viewers couldn't avoid thinking in a "Kung Fu > Other Martial Arts" message.
* [[WTHCostumingDepartment What The Hell Make Up Department]]: The EvilOverlord might have been a tad more intimidating had he not been [[UncannyValleyMakeup made up like a prostitute]]. Seriously, are his eyelids ''made'' of [[ExcessiveEvilEyeshadow green eyeshadow]]?
