* AwardSnub: While to be expected since horror films tend to be viewed less favorable at big award shows, there were plenty of horror fans who felt Bill Moseley should’ve gotten some kind of nomination or acknowledgement at the very least for his performance as Otis, especially his monologue in the desert after fatally wounding Roy and Adam about doing the devil’s work before killing them.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments:
** The "Free Bird" scene.
** Any time Otis speaks. Action movies ''wish'' they had lines that quotable.
** "I been lookin' for you, clown."
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: Both of the scenes mentioned under SugarWiki/FunnyMoments below, ''especially'' the "chicken fucker" scene.
* CatharsisFactor: After seeing the Fireflys committing horrific acts towards innocent people, it's incredibly satisfying to watch Wydell torture them. They also get [[spoiler: gunned down at the end of the movie by the police, which is also just as satisfying for the same reasons.]]
* CryForTheDevil:
** Although Wydell did terrible things in the name of justice, it's difficult not to sympathize with his grief and rage over his brother's death.
** Tiny may have aided his family in doing awful things, but it's particularly sad watching him [[spoiler:walk into the burning house to die]].
* DracoInLeatherPants: Despite being the most sadistic and reprehensible member of the family by far, and being a rapist to boot, not to mention having personal hygiene that would make a monkey blush, Otis seems to attract a number of female fans.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Unholy Two seem to have become this, especially among fans who weren't sympathetic to the Fireflys.
* EvenBetterSequel: Whether you liked or loathed ''Film/HouseOf1000Corpses'', most people tend to consider this one better than the first.
* EvilIsCool: Otis gets this treatment a lot, in no small part due to the scene where he kills Roy.
* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: The ice cream scene. ''Tutti-fucking-frutti!''
** The "chicken fucker" scene -- "THAT GODDAMN CHICKEN WILL GO CRAZY ON YO' ASS! KAAAAAW!"
-->'''Wolf:''' "Are you sayin' that I'd cut off a chicken's head, stick my dick in it, fuck it...and go 'Aaaaawh!'? You accusin' me of fuckin' a ''chicken'', mothafucker?!\\
'''Chicken Farmer:''' "Now, I ain't callin' ''you'' a chicken fucker, but...*points to Clevon*...that boy over there lookin' sexually frustrated, and...''I'' don't approve of chicken-fuckin'.\\
'''Clevon:''' "[[{{Angrish}} D'jyou hea' wha' he jus' call' me, foss, I ain' no fuck'n sexully frustrate- I]] [[TheUnintelligible aughakigagagaholiopagahama-!]]"[[note]]"Did you hear what he just called me, boss? I'm not fucking sexually frustrated! I ([[TheUnintelligible devolves into rapid, angry shouting that's completely impossible to understand]])"[[/note]]\\
'''Wolf:''' "Man, everybody just stop yackin' and grab the fuckin' chickens, Clevon!"
* SugarWiki/HeReallyCanAct: Bill Moseley, best known for his LargeHam portrayals from [[Film/TheTexasChainsawMassacre2 Chop Top]] to Otis, delivers a truly terrifying performance when he’s about to kill Roy, mocking his attempts to pray to god to strike him down. It was so good many horror fans were disappointed that he didn’t get any sort of recognition at the Academy Awards.
--> '''Otis:''' ''I am the devil. And I am here to do the devil's work''.
* MoralEventHorizon: Wydell is shown to have crossed this when he murders Mother Firefly in her prison cell. The Rejects crossed it long before the film started.
* NarmCharm: Jordan Orr, who played the kid whose mom was punched by Captain Spaulding, is [[{{Corpsing}} clearly trying not to laugh]] when he's supposed to be scared, though that arguably just adds to the BlackComedy of the scene.
* NightmareFuel: Everything with Otis, including skinning some guy's face off and forcing his wife to wear it as a mask.
** Whereas the DVD menu for ''Film/HouseOf1000Corpses'' was funny, the DVD menu for this movie is downright freakish.
* OneSceneWonder: Robert Trebor as Marty Walker, the aforementioned film scholar.
* RootingForTheEmpire: Although Rob Zombie said that the movie was intended to have no good guys, some fans felt that Sheriff Wydell's torturing of the Fireflies was morally justifiable and that the Fireflies richly deserved it.
* TearJerker: While unexpected for a film like this, [[spoiler:Tiny's final fate]] could still easily fit this trope, especially considering Otis' final words to him. [[LetThemDieHappy Even sadder is he never keeps his promise]].
-->[[spoiler:'''Otis:''' We'll come back for you.]]
* TooBleakStoppedCaring: Having villain protagonists, it's difficult to root for anyone in the film... Which is perhaps the intention of Rob Zombie. There is no black and white, just the flawed people and the worst kind of people.
* ToughActToFollow: None of Zombie's movies since ''Devil's Rejects'' have received the critical and audience appreciation that this one did. ''Film/Halloween2007'' and its sequel made way more money than this but they got a mixed to negative reception with all the movies after that being box office and critical disappointments.
