* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: It's Music/TheAquabats. It's kind of a given.
* AccidentalInnuendo:
** In ''Laundry Day,'' the 'Bats are repeatedly whipped by a monster. Ricky groans that he's never felt so dirty before in his life. He's of course actually referring to the the dirty clothing the monster is made from.
** During their fight in ''Christmas With The Aquabats,'' the Krampus demands Santa punish him for being naughty.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Camp Counsellor Jewel from ''Summer Camp.'' It's left unclear if she's just very dedicated and good at her job [[spoiler: [[SuperPoweredEvilSide and happens to transform into a Were-Ape]]]] or if she's a straight up BitchInSheepsClothing who uses her [[spoiler: transformation]] for personal gain.
* FanficFuel: The show runs on RuleOfFun, but occasionally sprinkles little details and bits of continuity that could be worked with, such as Music/WeirdAl playing both the President and Super Magic Power Man [[spoiler: who dies,]] and the purposely contradicting back story segments in Season 2.
* FirstInstallmentWins: The first season was quite well received and brought in good ratings. Season Two, however, was only five episodes long, and subsequently flew under most viewers' radars. Many viewers were unaware that the show had any episodes past Season One at all. Compounding things further is that when the show was on Netflix, only the first season was available.
* FridgeHorror: Episode 9 ends with [[spoiler: Pilgrim Boy being asked to transform into fireworks, which he does. Then said fireworks ''go off''.]]
** To be fair, [[spoiler: he may not be literally exploding.]]
* GeniusBonus: "The Thingy", despite being a ShallowParody of [[Film/TheThing1982 the movie]], does reference aspects from [[Literature/WhoGoesThere the original novel]]. The Thingy being unambiguously sadistic and having a true form are both traits present in the Thing from ''Who Goes There?'', and said true form is partially accurate to the Thing's.
* HarsherInHindsight: The Super Kickstarter video involves Silver Skull trying to sabotage the bands' attempts to revive the show, and almost all of the members starting out cynical. The (initial) Kickstarter did not reach its goal.
* JustHereForGodzilla: The Antibats episode of Season 1.5 [[Music/MyChemicalRomance directed by Gerard Way and with Mikey Way as one of the villains]] was an example of this even before the episode came out.
** A good chunk of people at the Aquabats! Super Show panel at Comic-Con 2012 were only there because Gerard was moderating it. Made funny during the panel with a load of teenage girls in the front cheering his introduction...with some Aquabats! fans further back asking each other [[SmallReferencePools who the guy was]].
* MemeticMutation: A picture of a concerned MC Bat Commander with the caption "Laughter stops" tends to be used in imageboards, to punctuate whenever a piece of media [[CerebusSyndrome suddenly takes a turn for the serious]].
* NarmCharm
** Special mention to Space Monster M. He's a hammy, giant, floating, albino head with a large M on his forehead... and he's [[KnightOfCerebus terrifying]]!
* NewerThanTheyThink: Fans of the show may check out the bands' earlier stuff might be surprised at how new Ricky and Eaglebones are to the cast (Ricky had joined around 2002, and Eaglebones joined in 2006), as well as the band not having set powers and the complete absence of the Battletram.
* NightmareFuel: The 3-headed siren in "Lady Fingers!"
** Jimmy Jr. from ''Mysterious Egg!'' is possibly the ugliest monster in the series.
** Ricky's ImagineSpot from the same episode. He imagines himself eating the egg (''Maybe it's full of protein!''), just for humanoid face to crawl out of the yolk.
** And Scruffy Scruff, the Gloopy product featured in "Cobraman!" Despite being played up as a cuddly plush toy, it looks like a hideous half-rotted abomination straight out of ''VideoGame/TheBindingOfIsaac''!
** Space Monster M, a giant floating head with empty black eyes. Not to mention he is the first villain to actually kill someone, following with their horrified wife.
** [[spoiler: Ronmark's]] new form in ''Return of the Aquabats!'' Ugly enough as it is, but it's the first mutant in the series that [[ForcedTransformation used to be a normal person.]]
** The Krampus from ''Christmas With The Aquabats'' is much more intimidating than most of the shows other villains, and has few, if any comedic moments.
** The second ''Clowny Clown Clown'' episode has [[spoiler:Crash eating the candy that spilled out of Clowny Clown Clown's head, implied and discussed to be either his brains or his previous victims, while the background music cuts out and the camera lingers on Crash for an uncomfortably long time.]]
* ShallowParody: ''The Thingy,'' while still a fun episode, is not much of a parody of Film/TheThing1982, taking only the vaguest similarities and does little with the paranoia aspect of the original (aside from Crash). Had the episode and villain simply had a less obvious parody name, this wouldn't be an issue.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: All part of the fun!
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: ''The Anti-Bats'' presents a team of {{Evil Counterpart}}s for the band. An awesome idea, but unfortunately they only really serve to act as muscle for the Silver Skull, barely showing any distinct powers or personalities.
** The Sandfleas finally show up proper in ''Radventures Episode 5,'' but are depicted as mostly generic thugs who serve as punching bags for the Ninja Kids (from Website/YouTube channel NinjaKidzTV) so they can upstage the Aquabats.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: In ''Showtime!,'' real life former Aquabats! Catboy and Chainsaw appear as rival superheroes. Instead of arguing, they decide to team up! And then Super Magic Power Man and Lanolin Lady show up, so Catboy and Chainsaw just leave.
* UglyCute: The Siren's from ''Ladyfingers.'' They're very pale and have a few blemishes, but are otherwise quite pretty. Oh, and also all [[MultipleHeadCase share the same body]].
* TheWoobie: Pilgrim Boy.
** Jimmy has multiple episodes dealing with feeling like an outcast thanks to being a robot.
