* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: The art for the [=DVD=] covers of all 3 [=OVAs=] were cute. Also, the series in general had some nice lighting.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WHnk9mf9SM The Opening theme of the anime [=OVA=]]]. The gentle and easy nature of the song really segues into the general mood of the [=OVAs=] and provides an accurate representation of what to expect. Naturally, it sticks to you after you listen to it for a bit. The beautiful CG quiltwork/patchwork also helps make it memorable.
** The [=DiC=] series' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVeL74yf8qQ opening and closing theme]] counts too. Unsurprising, since they were scored by Shuki Levy.
** [[https://youtu.be/cDM-XlXpVG4 EveryHappiness]], Which was created to be the image song of the franchise sometime in TheNewTens. Yes, it's boilerplate JPop and the lyrics are straight-on saccharine. But it's still catchy and will glue itself to your mind for the rest of your week. And oh, [[https://youtu.be/9rR3vbpiOtQ there’s an Engrish version too]]. The fact that the animation quality far surpasses that of the CGI [=OVAs=] and shorts proper doesn't help make it less catchy.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: For the 80's cartoon, of all the Sylvanian Families, The Slydales are considered the most popular and tend to have a respectable amount of fanart regarding them.
* FriendlyFandoms: To Cu-Poche and Toys/{{Nendoroid}}. The furnitures of the toy line are surprisingly compatible with the [[SuperDeformed chibi scale]] figures. Many Cu-Poche and Nendoroid owners have bought Sylvanian Families furnitures and houses just to build dollhouses for them.
** Against all expectations, there is also a friendly Fandom going on with fans of Anime/MapleTown, despite a huge overlap in the toy lines. It makes more sense when you realize that Haim Saban and Shuki Levy contributed to both franchises (although their involvement in Sylvanian Families was minimal at best). Fans of the respective series consider the other to be a sister franchise.
* GatewaySeries: For some furries, the WesternAnimation was their starting point into the fandom- Came for the {{Moe}} humans, stayed for the {{Moe}} woodland animals. For the rest tho, it was the gateway into collecting little plush and plastic woodland animal families.
* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff:
** The franchise got more popular the [=UK=] than in America in the '90s. It's still going on in the 21st century with many toy stores having small sections dedicated to the series. To put things in perspective: In America your best bet in getting the figures is to buy online from retailers like Amazon and hope they have the figures you want, and often your only option for older figures is to import from the UK or Japan. In the UK, ''there was actually a high-street store operated by Epoch themselves that sold nothing but Sylvanian Families toys'', including old stock and rare figures, that is now defunct as of April 2023, but is still going online.
** The series is also pretty popular in Russia.
* LesYay: In the Netflix short "Dream Date of the Big Sisters", Laura's imagination has Lulu as her partner and Lulu's imagination has Stella. For the more contemplative among us, this creates some really interesting {{Alternative Character Interpretation}}s.
* {{Moe}}: While the majority of the characters in the franchise are already adorable and huggable, Bell/Freya the rabbit takes the cake since she's very optimistic and caring with her friends.
* NarmCharm: The first [=OVA=], which is a kinda bit cheesy regarding the plot.
* PopularWithFurries: Due to the franchise cosisting of cute little plush animal figurines, the franchise has a notable following in the furry Fandom. Japan takes it up a notch with the presence of secondary merchandise like large plush toys and even costume appearances.
* SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel: Especially the OVA series.
